Queued up for 40 minutes because of previous reviews to get 2 subs. They were good but not worth the wait. I prefer the buns slightly toasted, no cheese and less spicy sauce - but each to their own. Make sure you are specific as...to what you want.More

This is Calgary's ultimate hole in the wall that will leave you gasping. This place.... ok it's a mom and her two sons running out of 100 sq ft max. The line ups are usually around the block. You have to get there by 11:30...latest if you want to eat and get back to the office. It is the most incredible food in Calgary. My favourite place to bring friends and family visiting.More

We were visiting downtown and were starving! I looked to see what was nearby and found this place (with lots of good reviews). I highly recommended this humble sandwich joint. The owner is a very kind man with an honest heart AND he makes a...killer sandwich! I have never had a Vietnamese sub before but I think I stumbled upon some of the most amazing food in Calgary. These subs are a interesting and delicious twist on Asian meets American/Canadian. Bottom line: don’t skip this one, I never had anything like it (and, honestly, the owner is a very good man).More

Been here a few times over the years, small place. What I don't get that after so many years of being in business they will only take cash" seems very suspicious " Could it be money laundry. Over ll is a nice little family owned...i think. It does suck that in the winter you still have to wait outside as is not a big enough place. I would advise the owners to maybe start taking electronic payment.More

Very small shop, which is especially popular and very busy during the downtown lunch hour rush (11:30am to 1pm) on weekdays. If you want to avoid the lineups visit outside of this time. I have the vermicelli dishes at least once per week. My favourite...is Chicken/Shrimp or the Chicken/Beef wrapped onion on Vermicelli noodles. The food is always prepared fresh, it is tasty and the portions are big for the $$. I suspect you will be hard pressed to find a better lunch value for you money anywhere in the downtown area. I have also tried the subs, but didn’t enjoy these as much as other places. Although the subs are a great value, the buns feel very heavy/dense. Also, the buns are not toasted, I prefer toasted/fluffy buns. Service is always friendly. There’s limited space in the restaurant with only counter style seating. I have eaten lunch meals inside, as well as taken them out. The menu is diverse with various, subs, soups, vermicelli and bubble teas. Keep up the great food and service!More

I was introduced to Thi Thi Vietnamese subs for lunch today. According to my colleague (who likes to eat out a lot and seems to know about all the best places) that this is the best Vietnamese sub place in Calgary. I had a satay...chicken sub with all the toppings and it was fresh and delicious. I was advised that you need to be there before 11:30 on a work day because you can easily spend an hour in the line up waiting for your sub to be freshly made if you arrive at peak time. the location is very handy to the downtown lunch crowd. It is the proverbial "hole-in-the-wall" kind of place that you would probably not go to unless you knew about it. Loved it - will be back again another day!More

I have tried this place before, and loved the food. I forget about it for awhile, and when I have their subs again, I understand what I was missing. The food is great, it's fresh and certainly feels and taste healthy... The location is great....The prices reasonable. A small place to order your food and sit by the river...you can't go wrong. There might be lineups, but they are fast and friendly.More

This place is great! The subs are amazing, really fresh ingredients. I've been to Vietnam and this is definitely a reminder of the great food there. It's also a family run business, they are really friendly & nice! I would recommend the 50/50 chicken &...beef sub!More

This is a tiny "hole in the wall" restaurant. We had a sate chicken sub hold the hot peppers, it was delicious. There is no sitting available, so we walked across the street and sat at some picnic tables by a Canadian government building. The...staff was very friendly and helpful with toning down the spices for children. It was busy even at 1500 in the afternoon on a Saturday.More

The subs are decent enough, but definitely not authentic Viet (too much sugar, too much MSG, added cheese!!). The price is also too high for Asian food.

Thi Thi has been around for a long time. The quality of its sub is well known. When I am in the neighbourhood, I often check to see if the line up is long or not in order to purchase a sub. You cannot find...a more authentic place than Thi Thi, its the only one.More

Living close by, I always noticed the long line at this place so figured it must be good. Stood in line for about 15 mins (weekday around lunchtime) and ordered 2 beef sate subs (one for me and one for hubby) WITHOUT hot sauce. I...asked if the sub was spicy and the answer I got was "it's a little." I thought ..I'm middle eastern, we're used to flavourful spiced food so I'll be ok. After a few bites, my mouth and nose were on fire. It was so overpowering that I couldnt even taste the actual beef. The red pepper flakes were so big on the beef. Very disapppointing. Suffering from heartburn now as I type this. Won't be eating there again.More

The good sub is just a history. I havent been here for a couple of years, Not sure if it's a new owner and how many times it has change ownership. On a sunny day like today, I ventured out from my office (just 3...blocks away) and found my way back here. As ussual it is busy...I usually order beef sub but I tried chicken this time, I added 2 spring roll and a Taro bubble tea. It is almost 1 PM, I decided to eat half of my sub there. I found it is dry and not enough sauce, after I tasted it I put it away and took out my spring roll. It is not crispy or not saggy but it taste like a rolled cardboard with a little meat at the middle. I regretted buying my lunch ... As I was about to go, I approach the girl at the end of the counter and ask If I get a bit of Mayo since my sub is dry. She went away and ask a lady (must have been the owner) who came and said yes she can put a bit of sauce but at the side. I said yes and I was about to leave then I overhead her saying something about the bread and kind of upset..... As I was walking back towards my office, I started sipping my Taro bubble tea which I noticed it is too full and was about to spill. I started drinking it but then I was almost choked, the pearl is half cooked. I paid $10.45 for the food/drink. To some might be cheap but it does not justify my expectation and frustration.... Maybe it is not a good day for the restaurant or for me but will I go back? Maybe after a couple of years again...............More

If you like Vietnamese subs this is a great choice handy to downtown. It's the proverbial hole in the wall with only a few tables, plan on take-out. A few reviews mention it only taking cash, that was true for a long time but they...take cards now. It will line up out the door at lunch time but don't let that deter you, the staff are efficient and the line moves quickly. Several choices for subs (satay beef, satay chicken, rib, cold cuts) and they have the classic toppings (carrots, cilantro, onions etc). Cheap too - a sub and a pop will come to less than $10.More
