While we have been to Smuggler's Inn many times, this was the first time at Tango. Sunday Night is bottomless Bouillabaisse and Beignets night At 22 dollars per person, this is good value for what you get and it is only available on Sunday night. The server brought soup bowls, shell bowls, soup spoons, a small ladle and tongs to... More

Went on Sunday night to try the bottomless bouillabaisse special. The server was very friendly and the food was extremely tasty, but given that it was the special I figured they would have a giant pot of the stuff simmering and it wouldn't take 10 minutes to get a new serving.....

Every item I've had at Tango has been impressively amazing! Starting with the raw bar happy hour yumminess (oysters rule and the new addition of oysters rockefeller rocks my world! And my tastebuds!) to the mains and sides (oohing and ahhing when you see the size and then bring your fork to your mouth) to the sumptuously satisfying desserts (chocolate... More

We had a lovely Family Valentine dinner here. Service was very attentive and the food was amazing. The seafood on the seafood tower was fresh and delicious, the crab and avocado salad was amazing, so were the deviled eggs. We were so full from our appies that we only ordered 2 mains and 2 sides , and still had leftovers... More

It's bistro dining with appies, salads and mains. So, the price is slightly higher when it was a tapas place. The crab and avocado was very tasty but huge, so you may want to share if you want to have it as starter. The French onion soup was rich with lovely red wine flavours. The bison meatballs were tender and... More

A business associate gave us a gift card for the Smugglers Group of restaurants so we had to choose which one to enjoy. Smugglers' menu is dated and the decor is pretty awful. The only meal I had at Open Sesame was inedible and Bolero Grill is a novelty that I only needed to experience once. I had been to... More

Tango was my favourite restaurant. They had amazing tapas, a decent wine list and a good happy hour. The last time I went they had changed everything. Menu eliminated the tapas selections and moved more to steak and other entrees. While our meal was ok the selection just wasn't up to par with what I had enjoyed about the place.... More

I recently went to Tango Bistro with my family. We live in the far NW but had a 30% off coupon so we thought it was worth the drive, and it definitely was! The restaurant itself is gorgeous, with very modern decor. The booth was extremely comfortable. To begin, we had the seafood. There was a special where you could... More

-restaurant has gone from tapas to bistro -the previous lunch special was a great deal --- the increased price of current lunch special of $20 for two courses is still reasonable -professional service -- appreciated separate bills -caesar salad is a lovely and tasty salade composée with three mini romaine wedges and whole mild anchovy -steak frites with good fries... Beautiful restaurant, with a lovely fireplace. Really warm feel, and great ambience. Their "business lunch" special is a great value, and plenty of choices especially for the main course. A nice selection of good wines as well. Staff was very friendly and prompt service. Our water glasses were never empty, they were constantly refilling it. I had the white anchovy... More

Description
Smuggler's Inn originally began in 1967 as Bar X Steakhouse, an American company. The current owner, Frank Krowicki, bought out his partners and went to work developing a brand new concept to Calgary. His vision included a mix of casual, late night fine dining and live piano bar. Over the years, the building expanded around Smuggler's Inn, with the addition of Winelite dining room on the west side, and Backstreet lounge and dining room on the north side. As the dining scene in Calgary began to change, Frank too saw a need to change and adapt. The first endeavour was the conversion of Backstreet lounge to Open Sesame in 2000. Open Sesame has been serving fresh, Pan Asian cuisine to happy customers ever since. The conversion of Backstreet dining room to Bolero was complete in 2007. As Calgary's first Brazilian style steakhouse, Bolero continues to satisfy meat lovers with its unique and interactive style of dining. Our latest addition is Tango Bistro, on the west side of the building, which once was Winelite dining room. At Tango Bistro, we bring together delicious, hand crafted small plates and fantastic wine to create a casual atmosphere for all to enjoy. In May 2013, Smuggler's Inn celebrated 40 years of serving mouth-watering Alberta prime rib and steaks alongside many original items, which have made us famous around the world. Four restaurants under one roof keeps us busy, but we wouldn't have it any other way. And the rest, as they say, is history! Smuggler's Group Rewards is a unique program that rewards you every time you visit us. For every dollar you spend, you earn points towards FREE Loyalty Certificates from Smuggler's Group Of Restaurants. Whenever you make a purchase, simply present your Smuggler's Group Rewards Card. We will automatically track your purchases and assign points to your membership. For every 200 points you accumulate, you will accumulate, you will automatically receive a $10 loyalty certificate to redeem on your next visit. There is no charge or fee associated with the Smuggler's Group Rewards Program. Just fill out the application, turn it in to us, and start using it right away.
