Went in for Breakfast this morning I have to say the food was very good and the coffee is great. The staff there were very attentive and great customer service . sadly I dont have any photos for this one I did ask If I...could take some as there were no other people there at that time but that was declined. There was a steady flow of customers after that so clearly it's a poplar place and I can see why.More
Had a chance to visit one of my favourite restaurants today, Blue Vinney in DT Calgary. I was with the family, so the 4 of us went jn around 1030am. We waited at the front door for about 5 minutes until a lady came and...said that they were busy and would be about a 30min wait. We agreed to return in the half hour. Upon our return we waited at the door for about 7 minutes without even a glance or acknowledgment from any of the staff. We left and the family really felt poorly about the experience. Odd and unusual to say the least. Not sure if we would return after that experience.More
Now I get that many places are short staffed, and I’m a fairly patient person overall, but that was too much. It was one of the only open patios for a Friday morning, and we took our seats on the patio. There was another table...outside with patrons so we figured we’d get served soon. Nope. Had to go inside and ask. Eventually she came out and took our drink order and after an additional ten minute wait for that and we still hadn’t received our drinks. So we left. We had an appointment we were pretty sure we’d be late to had we stayed and ordered food based off the introductory service. I’d also like to note there were only two tables if guests inside and two outside (including us) so it’s not as if the place was packed.More
We had brunch and the food was underwhelming for the price. The staff was efficient and friendly and the patio was confortable.
Love the food here. Fresh, wholesome, appealing, creative. Eat outdoors or inside. Food takes a little while to arrive, but the service is lovely. Sit down, relax, and enjoy.
We stopped by this place as it was busy and it was right in the strip of 8th Avenue. staff were nice and friendly, our only comment was that the servings were smaller , so you may still be hungry when you leave
During my stay in Calgary for Stampede, I ate at the Blue Vinny Diner twice. Both times I had a very positive and memorable experience. The staff are very generous and accommodating. They greet patrons with a smile. I visited during busy times so there...was a little of a wait, but nothing crazy. It was well-worth it. I'd gladly return.More
Visited here this morning with my wife and parents for breakfast. We walked up and down the street and Vinny's was the only place open! It was hard to gauge from the outside, but we were very glad we went in as the staff were...exceptionally friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious! Between us we had the carrot cake pancakes, the blueberry pancakes, the oatmeal, and two poached eggs with all the fixings. We slurped down coffees, a cappuccino, and a pot of Earl Grey tea as well. Not a complaint from any of us. Highly recommended and we would definitely visit again!More
The little diner on 8th Street is a charmer. The Eggs Benny was great. Their hollandaise sauce has a bit of a different taste than what I am used too - at first I thought that was odd, but I decided I really liked it....Our hostess/waitress (I think her name was Lisa) was just great! Very engaging in conversation, very informative, and very obviously enjoying her work and meeting people. Wish we had more time in Calgary as there were so many other items on the menu I would love to have tried. My wife very much enjoyed her spinach omelette - it was too big to finish! Coffee was great.More
We had a lovely brunch here. This is a nice quaint spot. The service is attentive and they have a nice menu. This place has a lovely European feeling about it. We’ll be back.
Stopped in for breakfast on October 15th around 9am. My son ordered the waffles which were not homemade- literally the Oakrun farm Belgium Waffles that you buy at the grocery store, with whipped cream on top. Daughter had the yogourt and granola and as a...previous reviewer said, there was very little fruit and yogourt, it was mostly granola which ended up being very dry. Hollandaise sauce was delicious on the Benny however the eggs were overdone. Latte was delicious, so at least there was that!More
Our family (including a rambunctious 4 yo) stopped for breakfast Sunday morning. We were pleasantly surprised - food was unreal especially the carrot cake pancakes, coffee was delicious and service was superb. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to eat on Stephen Ave.
We found this diner while walking Stephen Plaza. The grilled chicken and fresh fruit salad was amazing. But, I need to also mention the staff. They were prompt, attentive and very helpful with our sightseeing questions. They could not have made the experience more delightful.
Terrible service, waited more than an hour for breakfast food and it wasn’t even hot when we got it. We had to track services down to get coffee when it wasn’t even very busy. When you have so many options for food on Stephen Ave,...the service needs to be better. Much better than this.More
