If you like Montreal style bagels this is it. Lots of kinds, I like the sesame and they often don't make it home from the car. Served hot out of the oven, sold out early, cash only, specials on Tuesday?

Great "real" Montreal style and taste

Sells out fast, cash only, buy lots as they get eaten fast in the car. I like the sesame ones - yum. Parking is a challenge.

Staff meeting bagels

The person that served us was so rude we ended up leaving without anything. Will no go back. Was just trying to buy bagels no special order or anything like that. Zero customer service.

Change from old to young

This used to be the best place for Montreal Bagels. That's when husband and wife ran the business. Since the daughter and husband took over the business is gone downhill. No bagels on numerous occassions, taste has changed and price has increased twice in a few months. Terrible place. Customer service is terrible.

Not worth the waste of time unfortunately

Best bagels in Calgary Unfortunately you may never get them. My wife and I really enjoy the bagels but more often than not they do not have any ready. “Come back in 40 minutes “ the lady will say. Come back, no bagels. This has happened up to 3 times in the same day to both of us and we don’t live close , but they’re good so. Today I was passing by around 3:30 in the afternoon and thought I’d grab a dozen or two. Nope . Meanwhile, some guy in a van was loading up 17 dozen. Seventeen dozen. And laughing that there were no more. The lady offered me a half dozen assorted old bagels which I declined. I guess they won’t be getting anymore cash from us, wasted enough on fuel as it is. What’s with the cash only thing anyway?

Non-existent customer service

I ordered 2 dozen on a Tuesday for pick up at 9:00 Thursday. The woman there is so rude! She told me they were delayed and would be ready in 20 minutes. I waited 30 minutes and still not ready! She wouldn’t talk to me so I left without any. They were a gift to take to friends out of town who really like them. Learned from my friends that the last time they came to town and stopped in to Montreal Bagels they experienced the same rudeness by that same woman! I will never be back and I don’t even know what their product tastes like but I won’t go there on principle.

Very uninviting inside but that aside they have a sign inside once you arrive saying they only accept cash. Urghh. I detest businesses that do this, especially when they ‘appear’ not to be a small business.

Under cooked

I bought a dozen bagels and unfortunately they were all undercooked. Inedible. Threw them all away. Can’t say the staff was very helpful either. A couple of grunts was about all I got outta the guy.

This the place in Calgary for Montreal Bagel. Argue all you want, but this is a close as you are going to get in Calgary. Hot, fresh and tasty, with that hint of sweetness. Yum!!

Best Bagels in Calgary!

This bagel shop is a gem. Went to Montreal and tried the bagels in Montreal and we found that they weren’t as good compared to the bagels in this bagel shop. Bagels run out fast, it’s better to call ahead.

The best bagels

I buy bagels at this place for more than two years now, every week. I live far away, their parking always gives me headaches, they only accept cash, and few times they closed before the time printed on the door as they sold out everything. Still, I never thought of missing a chance to come and pickup fresh hot bagels from the wood fired oven.

But why .... ?

Hi Folks, I hit Montreal last week on Tuesday after the dentist, grabbed a half doz. (two sesame and the rest plain) Got them home and after reading all the reviews on line about how great they are I'm left wondering why? Yep, they are all handmade and wood fired, I'll give you that and it also will explain the sorta lame rise in them and some of the burnt marks on them. What was really odd was they way they made the kitchen cupboard smell after I put them in there for more the next day. Maybe because a few were burnt a bit in a couple of places ..... it was just odd tho ....... They were OK, but yep they make em sweet .... but to be honest I've had better looking and tasting bagels from the Safeway downtown by MEC. Not great but OK. Cheers' Dave

Yes, these are the best!! Places in Fernie could learn how to make a proper bagel like these folks do. And, get over it, you do need good cold hard cash here to buy your bagels.. Always fun to talk to the owners...
