The food was fresh and tasted great, served quickly, and the staff were very friendly. The overall experience was good and this would be a good location for a family meal. They do have a large menu so the choices are very good.

Came here with the family because people wanted noodle soup. Was not too busy on a Friday night. We were seated right away. Food is okay. Kids shared a small rare beef and beef ball noodle soup. They did finish everything. Wife had rare beef...noodle soup also small. I found the broth not very flavourful. I had vermicelli with spring rolls and pork. It was tasty. Spring rolls were great. There was crushed peanuts on the table which I used generously. Service was a bit slow. Took awhile for someone to take our order. Food took a bit longer than at other places. They were nice to my kids though. Gave them tons of fortune cookies. Wanted to try this place as we hadn't been in awhile. I think it will be awhile longer before we go back again.More

I went with my son (his choice) to Viet Hai for dinner on a week night - he had a Vietnamese sub and a bubble tea while I had the grilled satay beef skewers on rice noodles with spring rolls. The food was very good...and the cost before tip was less than $27.00 for the 2 of us. Very good value!More

When we have a craving for Vietnamese we pop into this local spot for a great meal at a great price! The decor is nothing fancy but the service is great and the food always hits the spot!

I have been eating here for 5 years and its been ok food. Monday night I ordered a meal through skip the dishes at about 6pm and they brought me the wrong order. I called the restaurant and the server said she would sort it...out... an hour later (7pm) I called again and the manager said he'd bring me the order himself. I specifically asked him not to bring me what was now the 2hour old food. The manager went ahead and delivered 2 hour old food to my house at 9pm. It was obvious that the food had sat for two hours because everything was hard and glued together. I went into the restaurant the next day to ask for a refund and the management started telling me I had to bring the food back if it was uneatable. Skip the dishes argued with the management and owner until the representatives at Viet Hai told them off and stopped answering their calls. Two days later I went in again and I finally got my money back after I spoke with the Owner's son. They gave me back my cash and asked that I never come back in again. Keep in mind that the only thing I did wrong was order food from this mediocre restaurant. I didn't cuss, yell of do anything abusive. Every time I went in the management and owner would try to escalate the conversation with accusations and unrealistic demands. I think they believed it was a good strategy to get people with complaints angry so they would snap and storm out. In the end, I won't be back there.More

This is one of my favorite family style Vietnamese restaurants in the city. If you're looking for a place with delicious soups as well as appetizers and subs, this is definitely the place to go! I've been here regularly since it opened and it's always...been a great experience.More

The food here is awesome, the service however is not. I have had to wait for ever to order, receive my food and then ask for my bill so I can pay. Friendly is not what you are going to find here but the food...is good. So you have to decide if you are comfortable.More

The first time we ordered from Viet Hai we had an issue with our order. We called in and we're told we would have a credit under our name. Today we decided to order again. We were told on the phone they found our credit...and it wouldn't be a problem. When we arrived the server told us he'd get the manger to do the discount. The owner then came over and started yelling at us and telling us we were liers and that no business would ever offer credit over the phone. He was extremely rude and that is no way to run a business or treat a customer. We will not be back.More

This is one of the best Vietnamese I have had in Calgary, It is a great family restraint and the waiters are very kind and helpful. Nice ambiance and of course great food!!!

The title basically says it all. I do enjoy this restaurant but try to avoid during 12-1 and 4-6 due to over load of highschool students

Visited this restaurant on recommendation from a family member; so glad that we did. It was late afternoon lunch & we were quickly seated (8 of us). The restaurant itself is very clean & welcoming. The menu (reasonably priced) is extensive so was a challenge...to decide what to order. The spring rolls were awesome, as well as the noodle dishes. Everything came hot to the table. Whenever we are back in Calgary, we will make sure that we visit again.More

I come here at least once a week and the quality of food is always exceptional and the service is quick and kind. It's bright and clean, and very quiet, which makes for a great place for a family visit over spring rolls and soup....My teenaged daughters absolutely love coming here.More
