A nice fancy decorated restaurant. Planned to go to Agita (restaurant behind the Coca Cola machine) for ramen but found out it is only opened in the evening. Decided to try out their lunch. Food was nicely decorated, very so-so, small and overpriced. The batter...of Tempura and deep fried squid was done really bad, soft instead of crispy. Squid was too soft and lost its chewiness. Sushi rice was so-so, not as authentic as Sushi Hiro or Sushi Bistro Anzu. Ramen was $8 but be ware the portion is small, make sure finish the soup as well. Nice thing is the soup wasn't salty. Everyone wore masks while waiting for tables except there was a mid-aged lady. Didn't look like she is one of those exceptions (she was having fun with her phone) in a waiting area that social distancing was impossible. Did not see staff telling her to wear masks. Anyway, will not go again.More

Worse service I ever experienced and meal was just ok. I can’t understand how this place as such good rating. Not worth the money.

Came here with friends after seeing a movie at Chinook. The food was just meh in my opinion, nothing mind-blowing or exceptional given the price range. The smoking sashimi salad tasted bland and did not have the photogenic effect I had hoped for. The seared...sushi tasted nothing like aburi, which it was clearly meant to emulate. Frankly I'd much rather go to Globefish or Big Catch (both are within 2 km of Sho) next time. The highlight of the entire experience has sadly been the bathroom ... probably the best bathroom I've been to in Calgary but that did not make the restaurant worth it.More

Tried several different sushi: tiger eye roll, dynamite roll, dragon roll, toro, tamago, vegetable tempura and some gyoza. All were fresh, delicious and made to order. They provide you with a menu and you mark what you want to order and it is brought to...your table. Friendly service; clean restaurant.More

Went for lunch on the recommendation of my oldest nephew. Restaurant is clean and wait staff friendly. Food came out quickly and well prepared. Sampled the prepared rolls and Sushi offerings. Didn’t have anything that I would not order again. Order the dragon roll. Great...time had... Will return.More

$130 for four, no drinks but left full. Excellent sashimi, good rolls, excellent cones. Service was fine though not exceptional. Take a hard pass on the lettuce wraps... this was the only item that was substandard. Would certainly go again.

It’s just ok. It’s subpar sushi and mildly creative rolls. I was disappointed with each thing I tried, and I tried quite a few things in order to give a fair assessment. I also went on more than one occasion. Sorry Sho, you sho’d up...but you didn’t sho out.More

Lost along the lighted signs of McLeod Trail, in the blocks between Glenmore Trail and Heritage Drive South, is a lesser known Japanese restaurant, Sho. We were with friends seeing the Captain Marvel movie, we wanted to have Japanese food afterwards. Our first choice, Globefish...(because it was in the same mall as the movie theater) was closed. Just a few blocks away is Kinjo, but it can be loud and raucous there. Our friends recommended Sho, just across the street. I had never been there so we went. This Korean run Japanese restaurant was delightful. A nice atmosphere and comfortable decor, the selection of food was terrific. The miso soup was delicious. We had a black cod dish that was to live for. The spinach gommae was wonderful and the sushi and rolls had great flavour without drowning them in soy sauce. they also had a very good sake selection but the house sake was also wonderful at a good price point. All in all, this was a lovely visit and we look forward to returning.More
