I have visited this deli many times over the years and keep going back. Authentic and delicious delicacies from Eastern Europe. The selection of Perogi's must be the biggest in Calgary. The only precaution is that if you want some Christmas treats, get there early...as they are super busy.More

Great reminder of home cooking. I love the hunter's stew, and when paired with sausage, perogies and a cabbage roll, it's a very filling meal. It's always a treat, and especially tasty when I take home poppy roll for later. I keep going back.

Today we picked up lunch to go at this quaint diner. It was a pleasant clean interior with ample staff on hand serving customers. Our soup and sandwich combos were very good. Ample sandwich fillings and the house borscht was a nice side dish. A...word of advice if you want lunch to go.... phone ahead and place your order. They are NOT fast food if you have a limited time for lunch.More

I get that they sell handmade eastern European food, but it is incredibly expensive. Worth a try however

Stopped in for lunch and had a plate of Ukrainian food. The perogies were fabulous, and the garlic sausage was tasty, the cabbage rolls and the potato pancakes were below average. I'll be back as the soups look very good. They do take-out and catering...as well.More

Cabbage roll, pirogies, hunter stew, sour cream, rye bread and butter for $10.00. What's not to like, and always delicious. Order at the counter and it's brought to you. Other menu lunch items made daily, and a whole array of retails deli, bakery and euro...products to take home. All hot food items are made to go if that's what you want. Never crowded but always a friendly local clientele in this former 60's CIBC single storey bank building converted to as it stands today. Parking at rear, a little tight, but hey !More

This place has great cuisine and products to enjoy within or take out. You will be treated like family. Pretty much everything is home made, healthy and plentiful. Authentic is the word for this place that hand pinches the pyroghy. [Pronounced peh-row-hae. The G is...silent.] Plus the flavours of pyroghy in sauerkraut and mushrooms are a 10 out of ten. All standard flavors are available. Cabbage rolls are hand rolled. A complete menu includes borsht and there are daily specials. When you enter the shop [it used to be an old Bank of Nova Scotia with high ceilings] the perfume of garlic ham sausage and cabbage rolls hits you hard. The service is almost buffet style, they bring your lunch over to you after you pick. The prices are good for the intensive labour costs and you will be full when you waddle out. Remember to pick up some frozen products for home along with some good bakeing.More

Good Ukrainian fare. Perogies, sausage, borscht, cabbage rolls. I liked it. $10 platter was a good sampling of everything but the borscht.

Although not much for atmosphere, the Heritage Bakery & Deli is unpretentious, serving great Ukrainian food at good prices. I've eaten here a number of times, and it is one of the first places I think of when going for lunch (it's within easy driving...distance of where I work). Highly recommended for anyone wanting good sized portions of home-cooked Ukrainian food. And while you're there, pick something up for supper, too!More

Great rainy-day weekend late lunch comfort food. Perogies, cabbage rolls, hunter stew with homemade sausage. Served deli-style and feels like home. European goods can be taken to go.
