We were here for lunch and had a nice table overlooking the lake (great view). Lots of free parking nearby. Service was attentive and polished. We shared the charcuterie board with bite size rye bread, and meats e.g. Westphalian ham, beef, elk salami, pâte, etc. Very good grainy mustard, some pickles and sauerkraut as condiments. I then had the crab cakes (small but tasty) with an excellent aioli, red pepper relish and potato gaufrettes. Crab cakes were lightly fried and juicy on the inside. My wife had the Icelandic cod in a very light beer batter. Home made tartare (remoulade) and ketchup with a nice portion of fries. Two big pieces of cod, so I had some too. Very juicy cod, not overcooked. Overall, very good food and service. Not too keen on the antler chandeliers (a bit too rustic), but that is a personal opinion. However, there was an abundance of dust on sprinkler heads, the top of the air circulation system and the beams. In addition, the exhaust vents also had a lot of dust on them, which made me wonder what kind of air filter (if any) is being used. This was only the visible part, so the invisible dust particles could be a serious concern. It cannot be that difficult to do a thorough clean at night (both internal and external surfaces) push all the tables to one side and then do the other half. From what I could see, that dust had been there for quite a while. This should be an easy fix and could enhance the dining experience (at least for me).

A terrific date night. Food beautifully prepared. This is a higher-priced menu, but there is excellent value in the quality of the food options and the portion sizes. Excellent service, right downtown to the lovely little glass of complimentary Prosecco. Leisurely paced meal delivery and a beautiful restaurant made for a perfect night out. Thank you.

My husband and I had booked a table for New Year's Eve before the new Covid restrictions were in place. We were very saddened when they came into effect and our reservation was cancelled. However, The Lake House did have a pick up menu available about a week or so after the restrictions were in place. We ordered the dinner for two and it was wonderful. A few glitches initially getting the website to work properly but we did get our order placed. Pick up was seamless and the food looked amazing. Everything was packaged very well along with color photos and detailed, yet easy to follow, instructions on how to reheat and plate. I was skeptical about the reheating instructions for the Sous-Vide beef tenderloin as I thought it would overcook in the oven but it turned out perfect! Everything was amazing! Loved the lobster tortellini - hope that stays on the menu when things open up again and the dessert, the chocolate raspberry layered cake was so, so good. What a lovely meal to end a not so lovely year. Thank you Lake House. We will be back for in restaurant dining once things open up.

We went for family new year eve dinner in this restaurant. We were reserved for 8.45 pm seated in 5 min as requested close to window but the chairs were unfinished wood that were so uncomfortable for long seating. The menu was not selectable as they mentioned for this night on the website prior of booking and was included 5 courses. Actually, I myself did not intended to take a full dinner at that time of the night but, there was not any other choice and caused me very bad sleep. I preferred to have more salad and light dinner with the same payment but was unavailable. The quality of foods were totally good with some comments. The lamb was so fat and the desert was made of dark chocolate that my kids did not like. Also, I believe this type of restaurant should have table cloth but hadn’t. The last thing, it is reasonable for the waiters to ask for the pleasant of the food but, our waiter asked us more than 10 times during the meal that was kind of annoying.

I have been here for lunch a few times with a friend but first time for dinner and a first for my husband. Service was exceptional. We were lucky to be early enough (6pm) to get one of the last window tables to see the lake and Sunset. Tables are spaced well for Covid protocol so noise level was even lower. Comfortable with Covid procedures however surprised that they put salt and pepper shakers on the table rather than the packets other restaurants seem to provide. I can only presume they were wiped down each time however I did not use and I had my husband sanitize after he used the pepper. He ordered the rib eye medium rare which is how they recommend it be cooked as well as how he likes it. It was served with fingerling potatoes and glazed carrots and he rated it well. I ordered their Atlantic oysters which I've had there and they continue to be delicious with grilled lemon and pickled onion/carrot or ginger sesame topping. I asked to hold the horseradish. For my entree I ordered the PEI mussels. Although on the smallish size they were all open and the sauce was tasty. They are topped with frites which were also very tasty. I chose their New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc to drink with it and it paired well. They change their wine regularly so you may not get the same choice. I started with a favorite cocktail - Old Fashion and was disappointed both in the taste and the presentation. I guess I should have asked the name of the bourbon they would serve but presumed it would be a premium. I was extremely disappointed that the bar tender did not check the orange peel for marks and it was served as a big chunk rather than a smaller twist which is better for adding flavor. This drink was the only negative of the whole experience.

With more people vaccinated and restaurants finally open in the summer after the lockdown, we decided to eat here. We could only get a table on a weekday, weekends were all booked until the end of summer. This was our first time here, we arrived for dinner at around 7 pm and could not get a window table. If you want to get a window table, try to be there as early as you can specially if you are a group of more than four. The restaurant was quite busy and a little noisy. Tables were well spaced. We started by sharing a charcuterie board which was not elaborate but had great choices of salami, ham and pickles accompanied by bite-sized rye bread. For my entree I ordered the Peri peri marinated Haloumi cheese and it was absolutely delicious. The quinoa was so flavourful. My friends ordered the Duo of Alberta Lamb which tasted great as well. My friends also ordered the Pinot Noir as recommended by our server Darcy that went well with the lamb. Darcy was nothing short of a rockstar. He was so warm, friendly and very attentive. Overall the service was exceptional. We were full after the appetizer and entrée so for the dessert all of us shared a Sticky Toffee Pudding, which tasted very well. Some of us ordered coffee, I wish the coffee was a little more warm. Yes it is a bit pricey, but quality of food and service are top-notch. If I had one complaint - it would be that I could not get a table by the window and enjoy the gorgeous lake view.

Food was okay. Portions were small and, price was insane. 3 scallops and 2 popcorn shrimp over $40. Two small pork tenderloin medallions and a tiny pork belly over $40. Go up the street to Wellingtons and get a beef Wellington for the same price as either of these. Insane they are asking these prices for so little and simple food, even with inflation this place is out to lunch (literally) on the menu prices.

6:30 pm dinner reservations did not disappoint. There is plenty of free parking in front and then proceeded to the second floor main dining room. There is patio seating as well, and they were full. The appetizers we chose were brilliant, We started with the salads, and then enjoyed oysters as we were perched right by the window. The shades were drawn down as the sun reflecting of the lake was intense. The main course chicken entree was cooked perfectly and so tasty. By 8pm we enjoyed a gorgeous sunset as the shades were just raised to open a spectacular view of the entire Lake Bonavista. Over the course of the meal, it was exciting to see many water activities being done by the residents living nearby. Special thank you to Aislinn for being a fantastic waitress ensuring we were looked after every step of the way. We're coming back the next time we are in Calgary for sure. You should go.

Last night we celebrated my step fathers retirement at the Lake house in Calgary, and it was an incredible experience. They served a multi-course meal that was cooked, plated, and presented with precision. There were about 25-30 of us and the whole waiting staff took wonderful care of us. The location is beautiful and easy to find. Will definitely be back for another special occasion

We don't often get this far south anymore but have fond memories of this place from many years ago. We met up with friends and were pleasantly surprised at the great brunch choices. Two had eggs Benedict, one the brioche French toast and I opted for the smoked short rib on a Yorkshire pudding. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the food and the experience as well as the service.

The atmosphere in the restaurant with views of lake Bona Vista were incredible. The appetizers and mains were outstanding and the wine recommended by our server to pair with our meal was perfect. Our server Darcy was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Would absolutely recommend for date nights or occasions.

We were surprised by the entrance to the restaurant as it has professional offices downstairs. Our waitress was pleasant and we were directed to a lovely table with a view of the lake. We enjoyed our meals which were cooked to perfection - scallops and hazelnut crusted cod and were delicious. Our waiter was attentive, but not intrusive. We loved the view! The tables were socially distanced and we felt safe while dining.

Such a beautiful setting in amongst the fall colours surrounding the lake. Staff are extremely knowledgeable on the food and lengthy wine list. We had an appetizer, main and dessert and was quite full afterwards. What a flavour explosion in every mouthful from start to finish. We started with the crab and salt cod samosas and Heirloom tomatoes and prosciutto. Followed by cured bison striploin and beef ribeye. The vegetables that went with both were so well prepared and paired nicely with the meat. Didn’t think we would have room but we then managed the peach creme brûlée and peanut butter swirl cheesecake….absolute heaven. We will be back.

Our niece took us out for a birthday dinner with her family. We received great service. We shared a couple of appetizers including a Charcuterie Board. For our main course we enjoyed Scallops, Rack of Lamb, Prime Rib, and the kids were treated to their favourites, including Mac and Cheese, and Chicken Strips. The food was great. The atmosphere was elegant. We all had a very good time.

This restaurant right on the lake has an ambiance of a cottage and a very relaxed atmosphere. The menu is varied which allows parties to each get something much different. Sitting by the window we watched families paddle and row around the lake and kids swimming off the beach. Food and wine was top notch and the waiter Frank was a treat. The duck was outstanding.
