We had a hankering for fish and chips and my wife had read good things about this spot called Mrs. Chippy ( which is really just the James Joyce Pub doing Fish and Chips takeout) so we decided to give it a try.
The food...was about 15 minutes behind the agreed upon pickup time on this very quiet Sunday, but that was not a big deal as there was nothing else to do.
The lady there handed me two bags...one was for the warms items ( Fish and Chips) the other was for the cold items ( condiments plus cole slaw.....nice touch.
The fish ( Haddock) was very good, even though the tartar sauce which we were ASSURED would be included, was nowhere to be found. That put a slight damper on our enjoyment for sure.
The chips on the other hand we found to be quite tasteless and lacking in seasoning.More
We went there at happy hour. Not much selection for their happy hour menu. Their service was slow and there wasn't many people in there at the time we visited the place. Though their mini shepherd's pie were good. The lychee tini was ok. Their...steak & Guinness pie is a bit salty. When we finish eating our shepherd's pie we didn't know that we want to order more and the waiter told us to use the same plate and fork but I asked them to give us a new one instead.More

Thanks for taking the time out to write your comments.
Glad you enjoyed the shepherds pies and sorry you thought
the beef and Guinness pie was too salty. Its always best to let
your server know and then we can follow up and that way...More
Me and my girlfriend stopped in for some dinner. We had some nice pints of Guinness and the food was good. Our server Agne was the highlight of the night though. She was very friendly and we had a good conversation. She gave us some...good travelling tips which we took with us on our way. She looked after us really well. Thanks Agne. We hope to see you in Vancouver sometime :)More
Quick afternoon visit on Christmas Eve with family. Very cozy Irish Pub with a beautiful interior. Sharing food was very good, gastro, including the scotch eggs, sausage rolls, bacon wrapped stuffed dates and quite a few other thing. And of course, the Guinness very good,...but that’s a given. Great service, well worth the visit.More
The restaurant makes one feel like stepping out of Calgary and into an Irish pub and restaurant in Ireland. I have lived there, and this felt very authentic. The food is excellent, including Irish Wheaten Bread. The music also brought back great memories. The service...is friendly and efficient. We go back again and again.More

Thanks Guys for the kind mention....I remember Anne speaking with you
and you all seemed to be such a happy group...Looking forward to seeing
you next time..
Hadn't been in Calgary in a couple of years and remembered the James Joyce Pub as being pretty good. Not disappointed on the return trip. We had a couple of pints of Guinness and a lamb and pistachio burger with a side of curry. Service...was good, not great. Would I go back again...sure.More
The cream ale was as good as the ones I had while visiting Kilkenny, the onion rings sharing plate possibly the best ever and the smoked salmon board and sausage & mash mains were first rate. All well presented in a rather “grown up” pub...atmosphere. Well worth a visit! We would most certainly go again.More
We had an amazing experience with our server, Crystal. She was so personable and helpful. We had so many laughs and the food was excellent. She was speedy and quickly noticed when someone wasn't immediately brought food with the rest of us. She left and...quickly returned with the missing dish in no time. The restaurant atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing. We had a GREAT experience there for supper and drinks.More
