The service was even though as a single I sat in the bar on a busy Saturday evening. The food was excellent a strip steak cooked perfectly. Only drawback unsweetened iced was not available, this was the case in all my dining experiences in western...Canada. The atmosphere was energetic without being too loud. and the price was reasonable.More

I am so sorry, as I really wanted to enjoy eating here, and looked forward to it very much. Unfortunately, it was not a pleasant meal and nothing special for the $200 we ended up paying. We had happy hour appetizers which meant that you...received half the normal portion but for more than half the price. Not what we cal happy hour. Happy hour is a portion but cheaper. The fried squid was most certainly not “to die for” as others had commented. Maybe they meant it literally. It was chewy, rubbery and not what I expected, especially after the reviews. I ordered steak as being a steakhouse, this was the what I had gone for. Honestly, and I’m gutted to admit this, but I have had better half the price at Boston Pizza. Saltlik’s sirloin was over cooked, chewy and grisley. I had to spit out a great lump of gristle which a restaurant should be cutting off the meat before cooking. We tried the puddings, just to see if there was any respite, molten lava cake, the cake was ok, but the ice cream is not vanilla bean as they claim and had ice crystals in, which wasn’t pleasant to eat. And the fruit they give you was way too much and tasted like it had come out of a jar of jam. I expected better, better quality, better experience for the hype and the price. We won’t be back and not recommended to friends. Sorry.More

Brilliant service and excellent food. The starters tunatartar and carpaccio were to dream of also for us foodies. The steaks met the same quality standards as did the desssert. We will back during our short stay in Banff. Probably tomorrow already!😇

We had a group of twelve for dinner. Two people had 7 oz Filet and it was served cold. Plus one meal was closer to blue rare vs medium rare. The steak was tender though. Mashed potatoes were luke warm. Brussels sprouts were very greasy!...One order had the Striploin and the cut was tough to chew. A few ordered the lobster mashed potatoes. All they had was a dollop of lobster on top. The rest of the meals were just ok! Our server did an excellent job looking after our group. And the restaurant was busy which may have contributed to some of the issues. But for the price there is much better steak houses in Calgary. Unfortunate but we won’t be returning to Saltlik in Calgary.More

Food was mediocre, as was the service. We had reservations but had to go to the bar to ask for drinks. It was not busy but I think our waitress forgot about us. I had steak, mushrooms and lobster mash.. the steak came out ice...cold. My daughter’s well done steak was barely cooked but was at least warm. My youngest just ordered Fries, which came out well after everyone else was eating. I asked the waitress to microwave my steak… the steak wasn’t removed from the plate to do so and there was a mess of butter and sauce nuked on my plate too. We made sure before ordering that nothing would have spices yet my youngest’s fries were covered in pepper. I was shocked that there was no discount given on our bill. I didn’t find that out until I came back from the washroom and my husband had already paid or I would have requested one. Waste of $200 for sure.More

Very nice location, and a nice interior. That is the positive. I was seated in a restaurant that had only a few customers, and lots of staff. One would think that is a good sign. My order was onion soup to start to be followed...by a prime rib steak, medium rare. The waiter took the order, and about 15 minutes later returned with my main course. No soup had been served. At first the feedback was that he ‘missed that’. I requested the soup to be brought and the steak returned to the kitchen for another use. The waiter took the steak, and retuned in a few minutes to say the soup would be out shortly. Then he added that he thought the soup was brought out before he brought the steak. If he was paying attention rather than watching tv in the bar side with the other waiter and bartender he may have noticed it was not. Or not changed his story.. The onion soup arrived and it did taste good. The steak was delivered and was well past the medium-rare stage, and moving toward well done. I suspect it had been kept for 25 minutes under a heat lamp. I sent it back. At the price for the steak it better be right. However, the manager who came by to take the overdone steak back was going to leave the fries on the table. I suggested that she take them and then bring fresh ones when the new steak was brought to make up a meal that is served at the same time. Before the new steak was prepared yet another manager came by the table to see how thing s were. At least he confirmed the first steak was indeed overdone. When the new steak was brought it was done as requested. In the end a big disappointment overall. Clearly lots of staff and few customers does not equate to good service or high quality food. After all these months of covid lockdowns spend your money elsewhere, where you can get good service and great food.More

The food and service was fantastic! The staff was knowledgeable about their menu and wine, they were very attentive- we had multiple people check on us to see if we were happy with everything. The restaurant was very clean, they remember to clean the table...and the seating! We had someone come to us almost immediately for a drink order, they never let our glasses stay empty! The appetizers came out unbelievably quickly, and they were absolutely delicious. We ordered Wagyu Beef Carpaccio and the Wok Fried Calamari, both were very tasty, extra big rave for the calamari though! Our steak dinners were cooked beautifully, the lobster mashed potatoes and maple mustard Brussel sprouts were to die for. Such a great evening, I will highly recommend to anyone visiting Calgary. Thank you guys so much!More

I had the hanger steak, the flavour was good, the beaf was tough, but at least I was provided an actual sharp steak knife to use. My wife’s rib steak was basically shoe leather; it was 30% fat and gristle and 70% bubble gum. It...was tough and difficult to cut with the knife she was provided; I cut her steak for her. My sons steaks were a little better, but tough nonetheless. The upside is that the flavours and the sides were good.. not great, but good. This restaurant needs a serious review of the quality of beaf being used.. our meals did not meet our expectations.More

Depends of day and time really - we go quite often and can vary from casual (jeans / smart casual) to a more formal business attire - definitely no shorts.
