Stopped in here on a whim, on a Saturday afternoon, just after 5 PM, with no reservation. After a minute, we were told very kindly that we could be seated if we could be finished by 630. No problem. Waiter was very kind, very pleasant...and very nice. Beverage came promptly, and we ordered a appetizer and 2 mains. Both very good. I had the lamb souvlaki, and my husband and the chicken. I very highly recommend the lamb. It came with Veg, rice and potatoes and I had a hard time finishing as I was very full. Rolando was our server, and we definitely will return. Thanks for seating us with no reservation.More

My husband, son, daughter in law and I had dinner last night at Santorinis. My husband is Greek. We’ve been to Greece many times and we all love Greek food. We’ve been coming here to our favourite restaurant for years. If you want true to...taste Greek food and ambiance, Santorinis is the restaurant you want to visit. From appetizers to main meal to dessert, it’s always the freshest, most authentic and tastiest you will find. The addition (of late) of the Greek dancing topped off our experience!! Well done and what fun! Customers loved it. The service is impeccable! You will not see a customer leave the restaurant without a warm goodbye from at least one server, sometimes all, bidding them well wishes and thanking them for coming. You’ll have a true Greek experience at Santorinis and will thoroughly get a taste of Greece! OPA!!!More

We went for my Mom's birthday. We did have a reservation (I would recommend because it was pretty full). The staff were excellent, friendly and enthusiastic. We really enjoyed the food (especially the hot appetizer platter) and were surprised and delighted by plate smashing and...dancing (OPA!). Would definitely go again and recommend!More

First off, sitting at this restaurant feels like being in another country. It might be one of the few restaurants left in Calgary with such a nice European (authentic) touch. When you are from Europe, it gives fantastic vibes. The food is nothing out of...the ordinary though. For example the cold appetizers can be found at some high end supermarkets and the pitas can be found at Superstore. Nothing is made on site, at least for the appetizers so we were fairly disappointed. Plus, it's extremely expensive for what it is. Basically 4 dips, 1/4 of a tomato, 2 olives (You can find them at Loblaws Supermarket, like the exact same), some feta (again, supermarket worthy), 2 lettuce leaves and pita bread. That's $22 + tips right there. The lamb was actually really good on the other hand and we also enjoyed their version of the Moussaka (I know the one with just eggplants as opposed to eggplants + potatoes) Sadly, the sides are pretty miserable. A salad with feta (tomatoes, cucumbers and olives + green peppers and literally 2 slices of onions) and the portion of rice is SO small that it's ridiculous. And it's $25 PER main. Which is at least $10 over what you should pay for a main like this. Overall, since the Moussaka and the lamb were totally fine, I would give it 3 stars out of 5. Price-wise, it would definitely be closer to a 2 stars out of 5 so possibly a 2.5 total. As a side note, if you are here with kids, they don't really have anything to accommodate them so it's more for adults.More

Small beautiful place, very cozy. Amazing staff, and the food is very delicious. Try their fried cheese - great appetizer and they serve it spectacularly. If you like your coffee strong and good you’ll find good traditional Greek coffee here, there are a few choices.

The first time we tried and went here we are very happy and so we came back the second time around. We still had reservation made to make sure we have seats as the place can get busy. However, the first visit was way better....We ordered the same meal we had during the first visit which is the taverna special. The meal was okay this time not as superb as the first time. The lamb was okay though this time it was a bit more lemony sour taste. Majority of the special like the hommus and pita, horiatiki, kalamari, keftethes and the spanakopita all tasted good and consistent but the saganaki seems a bit different as it got hard fast. Also, the portion seems to be lessened for some. But overall, their food is still good.More

We had a thoroughly enjoyable evening here! Such a fun atmosphere, great service, absolutely delicious food!!!! The decor, music, and friendliness (but not too intrusive) of staff made the evening a delight. Will definitely go back next time we are in Calgary.

The waiter (Louisos) was excellent. He engaged in a friendly banter and gave excellent recommendations. Service was just at our speed. The fried calamari was extremely tender. My wife asked if they had tirokafteri (not on the menu) - the waiter smiled and said "yes"....It was even tastier than what we were used to and he told us the secret. He was concerned that it might be too spicy but it was perfect for our tastes. The hummus and tzatziki were exactly as one would expect. The slight negative was that the pita bread was a little dry/hard. The chicken souvlaki was tender, nicely spiced. Better than I have had in Athens. It was accompanied by lemon potatoes and a small perfectly made Greek salad (I made a substitution). Portion size was very good! My sister in law had warned me that they would recommend Greek wine and that it was not necessarily very good. We joked with Louisos about wine and he brought a (justifiably) highly rated Greek wine. Dessert was another item not on the menu - baklava ice cream. Truly spectacular! It was $100/couple including one bottle of wine, one bottle of beer and one glass of wine which, in my opinion, is good for a high quality meal.More

We had just arrived in Calgary and saw Santorini Greek Tavern was rated very high on Trip Advisor. We love Greek food and had not eaten that kind of food in 2 years. We walked 30 minutes each way from our downtown hotel to have...dinner and had a wonderful evening. The moussaka was delicious and just like we remembered when we were in Athens. Very friendly staff, quaint atmosphere.More

We were a little disappointed after reading the reviews. We were expecting a high quality Greek meal, and we've had quite a few of them in other restaurants. This was just average perhaps a bit below. The serving sizes are small and it is fairly...expensive for the portion sizes you get. Substituting Greek salad cost you $4 and you get a very small amount. We asked for a side of Tzatziki which cost us $7! I don't mind paying for a quality meal but this was definitely not worth the value.More

I have walked past this restaurant for years and decided to try it today. They were so accommodating to our large group short notice. The service was so friendly and really felt like old friends atmosphere. The food was amazing especially the lamb. I haven’t...had such tender lamb for a while . The appetizers was delicious. I highly recommend everyone to try it! Must try the dessert next time! I look forward to visiting again!More

Easily the best Greek restaurant in Alberta. My second time eating here, this time with a large group of business colleagues they accommodated wonderfully. The food is spectacular! Authentic Greek dishes made with love. A wonderful old-school family owned restaurant with first rate service. The...ambience is fun Greek decor and music. Even on a cold prairie day, you can feel the warm sun of Cyprus here. Pro tip: the roast lamb is to die for. And go for the Taverna tasting menu, but being a big appetite!More

We chose Santorini‘s to celebrate our 38th anniversary. We ordered the Taverna Special, then sat back and enjoyed the most delightful selection of Greek food, served in courses. Piping hot pitas with hummus. Pan fried cheese! Beautifully done calamari with tzatziki. Greek salad. The most...amazing lamb with roasted potatoes. Just the right amounts of delicious food with a great bottle of wine made for a fantastic evening. The service was impeccable. I would highly recommend this restaurant!More
