I love going to this restaurant group - the staff are all very friendly and attentive; and the food is consistently good. Really looking forward to my next meal - for which I already have my reservation!

My daughter and I decided to try the Saturday brunch at Smuggler's Inn. We had not been there in years so wanted to give it a try again! The brunch was quite varied with fresh omelette making, fresh steak soup and an assortment of mainly breakfast dishes! I know that my daughter booked it for the fresh cinnamon rolls which... More

If you are planning a special evening, or to impress someone special, I do suggest a visit to Smugglers. The décor has an old Oil n Gas Calgary charm... it has a kind of dimness that envelopes you like a hug and gives you the feeling that you are even more private, and makes you feel snug. The food is... More

We tried this place since Cactus Club had a large lineup of people waiting and we had always been curious if smugglers was any good. There menu had an obvious focus on steak, so we figured this must be their specialty since their pricing was very high, it must be top notch. How wrong we were, I ordered the rib... More

Been coming for years..... Salad bar is tremendous, fresh, with a wide variety of delicious items. All beef selections are well accompanied with potatoes, au jus and sometimes Yorkshire pudding. Top notch service and reasonable prices makes Smugglers a family favourite!

Yummy fresh selection of delectable brunch offerings from the usual suspects of perfectly poached eggs benedict (which get new batch rotations even when the few left in the pan are still good! That's a sign of a restaurant that cares!) to the savoury sausage and crispy bacon to the plethora of beautiful fruits and vegetables, to the abundance of meat... More

Like the salad bar with choice of 3 soups. The food we had was pretty delicious, the steak was perfect and lobster didn't disappoint. The portions were generous, the dessert was very tasty and all reasonably priced. Service was pretty good too. The area where we were sitting was quite dim. We will be back for sure!

We returned to Smuggler's fir our Valentine's dinner. It's been many years since we last dined there. First of all, Smuggler's is known for their beef. The blackened prime rib was outstanding. I ordered medium rare and it was much closer to rare, but delicious! It was served with a dipping sauce ( not required) which tasted like it was... More

Seven of us visited recently on Saturday night. Smugglers has been around for many, many years and was always a great stand-by for a roast beef feast. The restaurant was full and service, while efficient, was slow. It was clear to us our waiter's attention was drawn to too many tables and it was hard to get his attention when... More

Description
Smuggler's Inn originally began in 1967 as Bar X Steakhouse, an American company. The current owner, Frank Krowicki, bought out his partners and went to work developing a brand new concept to Calgary. His vision included a mix of casual, late night fine dining and live piano bar. Over the years, the building expanded around Smuggler's Inn, with the addition of Winelite dining room on the west side, and Backstreet lounge and dining room on the north side. As the dining scene in Calgary began to change, Frank too saw a need to change and adapt. The first endeavour was the conversion of Backstreet lounge to Open Sesame in 2000. Open Sesame has been serving fresh, Pan Asian cuisine to happy customers ever since. The conversion of Backstreet dining room to Bolero was complete in 2007. As Calgary's first Brazilian style steakhouse, Bolero continues to satisfy meat lovers with its unique and interactive style of dining. Our latest addition is Tango Bistro, on the west side of the building, which once was Winelite dining room. At Tango Bistro, we bring together delicious, hand crafted small plates and fantastic wine to create a casual atmosphere for all to enjoy. In May 2013, Smuggler's Inn celebrated 40 years of serving mouth-watering Alberta prime rib and steaks alongside many original items, which have made us famous around the world. Four restaurants under one roof keeps us busy, but we wouldn't have it any other way. And the rest, as they say, is history! Smuggler's Group Rewards is a unique program that rewards you every time you visit us. For every dollar you spend, you earn points towards FREE Loyalty Certificates from Smuggler's Group Of Restaurants. Whenever you make a purchase, simply present your Smuggler's Group Rewards Card.
