A good place for hot pot. Various kinds of meat and vegetables and a lot of choices for soup. Good service too.

I love the concept of hot pot, and the fact that at this one, each person gets their own choice of broth. I like the sauce/condiment bar. I love the quality of most of the food products and the great variety of fresh veggies. But...I do not like that they are using still-frozen foods at the table. When you put frozen noodles or dumplings into the broth, it brings down the temperature to below boiling, which is a food safety issue. All foods brought to the table should be thawed. Also, it's pretty expensive.More

Lots of selection of meats and vegetables. Great for a group to cook their own food. Make sure you take a variety of sauces to enhance your food from the front

Went for dinner on Friday night it’s was busy and had a great atmosphere. The first good sign of an Asian restaurant is lots of Asians. Step 1 pick your broth, unlike other hot pots we’ve been to each diner gets their own hot pot...so you can choose the broth that suits you best. Step 2 go to the condiments bar and create your own dipping sauce. This part was great there were plenty of items so the combinations of flavours is endless. Step 3 select the food you want to put into your hot pot. Again there are a ton of items to choose from to tantalize your taste buds. Step 4. Get your feed on! You have 2 hours to fill your gob and man did we. Everything from tripe, liver, marbled beef, lamb, tofu, salad, snails..... the also have delicious dumplings, chicken wings, Chinese long donuts and so many more ready to eat treats. We can’t wait to go back. This will definitely become a regular spot for us. Thank you to everyone at 1 Pot for a great experience.More

In the last year, 1 pot has become one of my favorite places to eat in Calgary. I've been about 10 times in the last 8 months and each time the dinner was great. They do get busy in the evenings but the food comes...out fast. Great selection of meat, veggies, cooked and uncooked items. The sauces are all included unlike other places in Calgary where green onions, peanut sauce garlic and other condiments are not included. Love the tom yum, miso broth and the chicken broth. I've stopped in for lunch on the go and its been really good as well, and good price, but cash only.More

I can't understand how people cannot recognized fresh food to frozen food. I went there on a Sunday I thought ok lets look at their menu. I was surprised that they had dim sum and not just soup. I ordered 5 items that I would...normally order in another dim sum place. Har gow which is shrimp dumplings. I ordered another shrimp dumpling with chives, beef rice roll, 2 other dishes and a pan fried chicken bun. The waiter told me and the table next that they were out of har gow and another dish, so I chose steamed bean curd and another dish. The beef rice roll came out it felt like it had bones in it. I chewed something hard I| had to spit it out and ate some again it hapopened 3 times. Bean curd was greasy it had no flavour of the other ingredients that should exis like fungus. The shrimp with chives was actually pork. I asked the waiter did I order the wrong one? Was it brought to my table by mistake? Where is the shrimp and chives? He said that what it is its with pork. I looked again at the menu and askede what about this one? it says shrimps. He said same thind with pork. I asked Do you have any shrimps????>?nothing. I then waited 45 min for my pan friend chicken bun I told him I need to leave I have waited a long time and I cannot wait anymore. He then said sorry we have to defrost from the freezer cook it and pan fry it. I said in another restaurant I wouldn' t have to wait this long. I told him IT"s MY FIRST TIME I AM DISAPOINTED!!!. I MAY COME BACK TO TRY YOUR HOT POT BUT NOT YOUR DIM SUM EVER. I told him I am not new to dim sum I regularly eat it at Central Grand you can't compare. Also people if you pay in cash it s $1 chreaper per item. If you pay debit or any card its $1 more per item..More

Their promotion is great, but food is questionable, especially if you are sensitive to MSG. I have tried many types of food, as well as their lunch items, and found that they are excessively seasoned. I write this hoping the management will realize that they...prepare good food except for the MSG issue.More

A friend and I went for dim sum for lunch on the weekend. The dim sum was excellent including the taro special they recommended. The service was very friendly and the food was served fresh, hot and quickly. I will be back.

I have had hot pot in China so I wanted to take my family for the experience. This was different in that we each had our own pot with our specific choice of broth. I wanted to try the Tom Yum broth but they were...not serving it that night because a customer complained about the smell earlier on in the evening. Good move on the part of the restaurant. Anyway this is true Chinese ! The staff were great helping us make decisions on what we ordered. Vegetables were all very fresh some of the noodle and meat items were partially frozen . I would rather have it that way than wonder how long it had been sitting out. There are a few items pre cooked like chicken wings that were great. Shrimp was a bit messy as it is served whole . I should have taken the head off first . We spent about 2 hours there experimenting and taking . it was fun. Be prepared to splash broth on your shirt . It just happens. Anyway it was all great . Try it you'll like it.More

We have done hot pot a couple of times at a friend's house, he was from China and wanted to share his culture, we really enjoyed it, but he called it Chinese fondue. I saw 1pot and decided to take my husband out for an...adventure in Calgary's China town. Although we had no idea what we were doing the waitress was patient and explained how to order, there were a number of exotic options on the menu and we were adventurous with some items. They had a great buffet of items to add to your soup broth for a custom flavour and we had a great time trying new things.More

You get your own individual pot, so we brought a vegetarian which worked perfect for her since she could get the vegetable broth, and we were able to get beef or chicken or whatever since we have our own pot. You also get to create...your own sauce or dip as well, they have tons of options, from satay sauce, fish sauce, hoisin sauce, cilantro, hot peppers, etc. It was awesome, then you order all the meet and veggies of your choise (all you can eat) and you get to choose the type of noodles you want for your soup. This place is AMAZING, if you have never tried Asian hot pot I recommend you try this place first. I will be back to this place, that is for sure! Warning: Strong smell when you first walk, don't worry after a couple minutes you don't smell it anymore. Also if you come here, don't plan on going out to a club or anywhere your going to be surrounded with people as this place will make you smell, and anyone who doesn't eat with you will probably say you stink. I went with 3 friends and we couldn't smell it on eachother, but later on when we met up with more friends they did say we all smelledMore

A unique hot pot restaurant that has individual pots which is good for those that don't like seafood and spicy food. You can have your own broth and sauces that you can mix. I have been here a number of times and service is hit...and miss but the food is good and very good selection on their menu as well for people that enjoy trying new things. Pricing is about $25.99/adult so it's good price for what you can eat.More

This restaurant is always busy and for a very good reason. Everyone at the table is given their own pot of broth (choose your type of broth!) and then a wide selection of meats, veggies, dumplings etc to cook and eat! There's also a table...with the makings of any type of sauce you could concoct! There is a 2 hour limit so order the most of your food in your first order and then peter out from there. And don't forget to get the fried buns with condensed milk for dessert! It is pricey, but you get a lot of food and fun!More
