If you have never had a Pannenkoek, they are whole-pan size and are much thinner than a traditional American pancake (but not quite as thin as a French crepe); and the best of the variations. I have tried many of the savoury Pannenkoek here and usually have the warm Saskatoon one for desert (shared of course as these are satisfyingly filling). The food is consistently excellent and the staff very welcoming and treat the guests like family.
The owner Denice Greenwald, is always on the floor chatting to the guests making sure their visit is a fabulous experience. When you see her, ask her about how she established her restaurant and her philosophy of ensuring a repeatable, consistently high quality dining experience. If you have visited Europe, you will appreciate the food as it is a mini get away to Europe for your taste buds đź’“đź’“đź’“

Wow! The pannenkoek was delicious! Price for the food was also reasonable for the serving size, and I can see the bottom is covered with meat. Highlight was the friendliness of the staff. The lady that served me was super friendly, checking that I have everything I needed, she is definitely an asset to the team.

Being a family who enjoys pancakes, my family had to try Pfanntastic Pannekoek Haus during our visit to Calgary. We immediately loved this restaurant's Dutch decor, complete with delft decorations and the aroma of the pancakes wafting through the air. We all shared the fresh strawberry chocolate pancake, the bacon, mushroom and cheese pancake and the sausage, onion and bacon pancake. The pancakes are crepe thin and are the size of a medium pizza. The flavours of each pancake were absolutely scrumptious. A real delight to eat. Thank you Pfanntastic Pannekoek Haus for bringing joy to our breakfast.

We have eaten here many times before Covid19 and loved it but not this time. Both of our pancakes were burnt, one more than the other. They should never have been sent out from the kitchen. The waitress offered to redo them but we didn’t have time. We were charged the full amount though I ate only part of mine because of the burnt taste. The coffee was very good though. We had planned to come with friends but we won’t be doing that now.

Savory or sweet, these are a wonderful treat. Coffee and tea are served with Dutch cookie/biscuit that are so good, we bought two packages to take with us. I got the banana & chocolate sauce pannenkeoken, while my wife got the shredded potato, onion, bacon, & cheese pannenkeoken. Both were exceptional and we can't wait to go back again to try some of the other flavours. The staff were very friendly, full safety protocols in place. Definitely something to check out when you are in Calgary!

While we have been happy with the service here in previous years, our family's most recent visits have been a disaster. As we stood waiting for a table, the woman working there continued to clean tables and not sit anyone. We waited so long, standing and observing 4 clean tables, that we left. When our daughter went to the restaurant for lunch about a month later, she had to ask them to put a rush on her order as she had been there over an hour, still had not received her food, and had to leave to pick up her child from school on a bitterly cold day. Someone needs to refresh the staff on what customer service means. I know this restaurant gets insanely busy on the weekend but these visits were during the week. Prices have been increased , but service certainly has not.

Good sanitation and mask distancing protocols.
Glad to see this long term shop still in business. Still hard to find and get into but undergoing a change
I had the pancake,thin and the size of a dinner plate. My choices were bacon. leek and mushroom! It was yummy.
My friend had the chicken soup with dumplings, also he said very tasty.

Ate here last year while in Calgary on a business trip that my family accompanied me on. This year we were road tripping for Spring Break and I made sure we took the time to eat breakfast here again. We chose savory and not disappointed. Love this place!

My friend and I went for a breakfast date. I had the sweet blueberry crepe it was delicious. I wish they offered more syrup options the transitional one was very different.
My friend had a savoury crepe it was good just very salty I think from the bacon.
Service was awesome though! Will definitely go back soon!

This place is the real deal!!!
Best Dutch pancakes outside of Holland. Sweet and savoury for me, sweet for the kids and savoury for my husband.
Big enough to feed you for 2 meals.... if you can stop eating. Yummmmm
Our server this last visit was awesome. I wish I knew her name. Middle aged woman with a deep, happy laugh.

The pancakes seem Dutch and they're tasty. Choose between savory and sweet. The meals are large and filling, You get what you pay for, along with pleasant staff. I'm a customer who brings groups to this Calgary restaurant.

Our second visit this time, we had a really nice lady assisting us who had helped us before. I cannot remember her name, Cara or Kelly, I think. She was trying so hard and these older ladies were leaning on her continually like pit bulls, which seemed to upset and fluster her no matter how hard she tried. Is this how you run your business. Those older gals are ready to retire I think. Nasty women.

This was our first time, and we are amazed. We had pannenkoek in Amsterdam just before the pandemic, and were craving them again. So we ventured out today and were so pleased! The giant pannenkoek we had were tasty, crispy and very filling. Excellent ingredients make for a premium product. A little pricey, though. The coffee with a biscuit is refreshingly Dutch-style service and we love it. I wish we'd had room for a sweet one - next time for sure!
The only thing that needed attention was, in the ladies' room, the toilet seat is very loose, moving side-to-side when you sit down, so it can pinch the back of the legs. Just a quick fix should make it right!
