About
MINAS Brazilian Steakhouse is named after the southern Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, where executive chef and owner Jose Montes hails from. This state is known all over the country as the heart of the most authentic Brazilian cuisine, such as feijoada, pĂŁo de queijo, and feijĂŁo tropeiro. During a traditional dining experience at MINAS, the barbecue is served tableside on skewers, in the classic rodizio style by our passadores (carvers) and accompanied by the most traditional Brazilian dishes. MINAS provides great service by qualified and willing staff, presented in a lively ambience. We serve satisfying portions that never leave our guests hungry. Most of the food is cooked in our open kitchen (the latest trend in the dining experience) with high quality meats prepared fresh and in front of guests. Our IguarĂas (hot and cold gourmet sides) offers tasty, instant, and varied options. We cook and serve in traditional dishes, such as handmade soap stone pots.

Minas are open again to diners, and adapting to the conditions. They are still providing takeout, doing quite a brisk business.
We were desperate for our Brazilian steak fix, jumping at the chance to return to Minas. For the moment, table service is the order of the day. We had the Alcatra for two, including a whole piece of beef from the spit, rice, salad, feijoada, cooked bananas, and bread. Portions were huge. Other packages are available (we wish that we had some family with us to justify the Picanha dinner; it was enormous and looked fantastic), or all the Brazilian favourites, al a Carte. We shred a delicious passion fruit mousse. Service was impeccable, and the owners personally preparing and overseeing the service of food. We always find the Minas staff so courteous.
We cannot wait for the RodĂzio to return.

We are long time customers and always enjoy our trips to Minas. Great service, great food and lots of choice on the buffet. What is there not to love?! Servers were attentive and friendly, there was lots of meat coming around on the rodizio service and now the added bonus of free underground parking. We can’t wait for our next time!

We only called in by chance as our son lives around the corner. Although very busy with lunchtime trade a table was found for us and the options explained.
We went for the buffet(Rodrigo?) and helped ourselves to a variety of salads. On returning to our table we turned our token green side showing and the servers began to bring a regular pattern of different grilled meats - beef pork chicken sirloin lamb and even grilled pineapple which was delicious.
Dessert buffet included mini donuts, caramelised banana, rice pudding, chocolate sauce and Dulce leche.
For both of us (drinking water) we paid under CAD$80 in total
The staff were friendly and attentive and patiently explained everything to us.
We’ll definitely be telling our son to go there

Definitely not worth the money. It has a very industrial feel...
Staff has trouble serving wine, they prefer to be on their mobile phones. The establishment served lot of lamb and chicken, and was very skimpy on beef. I requested beef not lamb, and it took forever for them to come around. A beef tenderloin cut was missing ... we live in Alberta, plenty of good quality beef all year around.

Food is always good but the beef a bit too much salty.
Service has been declining so much before covid
Time, that’s means it’s not my first time in this restaurant.
We made a reservation to celebrate a birthday. When birthday cake came it was nice but without any spoon, we wait 5 minute for one until we told one of the waitress for one.
Nobody offer any deserts for the rest of the family. After we called the attention of a person for the waitress to received our deserts order, we wait more than 45 minutes and nobody cares. I have to go and approach four of the waitress chit chatting for our deserts, they told us that the person who took our order didn’t pass it to the kitchen :/ After all of it we got the deserts from the house but the paying part is not the issue, im not there for free food. I’m paying for a “service” , otherwise I can do it at home.
At the end of this review, Minas is a great place to eat but, the owners! Please put Attention to Service otherwise my family is not the only one not going anymore to your place.

We went to celebrate our son's birthday. Fantastic experience! The meat was so delicious. The salad bar is also really good for those that like a little less meat. But the meat made the meal. Thanks Minas for a great evening!

We have a Brazilian exchange student that has been good with trying all the ethnic foods near us in Vancouver so when we got to Calgary we decided to suprise him with eating here. Turns out we were the ones surprised. The staff were excellent and obviously could communicate with the exchange student fluently, which normally isn't the case for him. The food itself was so good it made me reminisce of some of the things I ate in the Tuscany region of Italy...
I would definitely visit again if in Calgary!

Quality of food and service still excellent, as ever. Plentiful meat, large range of hot and cold Brazilian food on the buffet. Friendly waiting staff. Highly recommend. Also, check out the shop, in person, or on line.

I have ordered from here to go and knew the food was excellent so decided to dine in and take my parents and my family for a nice dinner. As expected, the food was excellent but sadly the service was terrible.
We knew we wanted to order from the a la carte menu and we didn't want the Rodizio AYCE, but didn't realize that meant that the staff would almost completely ignore us. We had a reservation and were on time so we were sat right away, but then we waited for 20 minutes before anyone came to talk to us. By then we were ready to order so we gave our food and drink order but then again we were ignored until our food was brought out. I had wanted to order another drink and another order of bread but no one came by for 30 minutes. At one point I took my son to the washroom and found there was no hand soap in either dispenser and there were no paper towels in either of those dispensers. On the way back to my table I mentioned this to the bartender and he rolled his eyes then did nothing.
As I said, the food is excellent and I may give dine in another try, but on this occasion service was terrible. Hope they improve

I asked them to let me know when a specific chocolate was in stock..
They called about 3 weeks later and told it was in.. So I drove 2h to get it, only to be told that they didn't have it.. They had something else from the same brand.. It's like asking for Canada dry Ginger ale and being told they have Canada dry tonic water..
And to make matters worse, I wanted to pay cash for something and the young girl said she didn't have any change so I could only pay card.. But I could pay a portion of it in cash and the rest in card..
As if walking to the restaurant side and get a $5 dollar bill would be impossible..
I'm yet to dine there but from experience so far I probably won't any time soon.
Going to pampa instead..

This is one amazing place with delicious food and great service . They have an all you can eat option. And has menu with a wide variety . In addition to that the bbq cart that came our way every 15 mts was lovely .
The food was delicious and value for money. Great service too.
Doesnot allow to pack and take food.
They were maintaining all health guidelines toi during the pandemic .

We went to this restaurant to have some fun and taste something different. The meals were fine, although we felt rather disappointed because it was not as good as we expected it to be. I told the girl who assisted us on our table that we were celebrating my husband's birthday. She said something nice but we thought there would be a special gesture....like a birthday song in Portuguese, but nothing. It's not to think about coming back! We've been in other restaurants with far better service regarding this.

Great restaurant!
Everything was right: food, service, location and price.
On top of it, there is live music on Thursday nights.
Kudos to the very competent and attentive waiters/waitresses.
Valeriia was particularly nice.

First time dining at Minas and it was amazing!!!
Food was fantastic and the atmosphere and service was also amazing.
There was Brazilian girls dancing with there featured outfits every so often going through the restaurant. This adds to the atmosphere which makes for more unique dining experience

First time at a Brazilian steak house. What an experience! The wait staff were amazing, the food was delicious and all the meat options were mouthwatering good! The price was excellent, even better than usual because it was the restaurants birthday. The atmosphere is so inviting and warm, it made the whole dining experience perfect. I would go again and again.
