We have eaten here a couple of times and have enjoyed the sourdough flat bread topped with various chicken, beef or lentil dishes. The flavours were delicious, the service was very accommodating and who doesn't like eating with their hands! Give it a try -- you will have fun and you will leave with a very full tummy!

Went to Fassil for our first time on a Sunday night with another couple. It was very quiet. We eat Ethiopian food regularly. We're vegetarians, and as usual had a vegetarian platter. Not out of this world, but good food, and a very friendly and attentive server. I would definitely go back.

My all time favourite Ethiopian restaurant. I've been there couple of times with friends and always enjoyed the food. Not an expert on Ethiopian food but I've loved this one much better than the other ones I tried.. I love to share it on the big plate but always end up fighting with my friend! Haha! My fav ones are... More

I love the this place a lot the food is fantastic I have tried multiple dishes here & all of them rocked. The dishes are all served on enjera, which is a sourdough flat bread, which you use as your fork & spoon & it also taste great. The dishes I would recommend would be the Doro Tibbs its a... More

Few days ago I went to Fassil for the first time in Calgary and I left the restaurant with a pleasent feeling: I ate authentic Ethiopian food. I'm not an expert but I've eaten before African in a Eritrean family and the flavours and the dishes they looked exactly the same to me. The meat cooked in the typical sauce... More

The best Ethiopian food in Calgary can be had here! The incredible flavours in each dish and the large vegetarian selection has me coming back again and again. The service was fantastic and I'd recommend this place to anyone interested in unique and flavourful dining.

We went as a group of 7 this time and they are so accommodating. Some of the group does not like food too spicy and some extra spicy. They were able to split up some of the combos into spicy and mild. It is never fast but it is worth the wait. We have been to many Ethiopian restaurants in... More

I've been to Fassil several times after spending some time in Ethiopia. The owners are so friendly and the food is delicious! They even humour me, encouraging me to speak the few words of Amharic I know... even played some Teddy Afro on request! Always a lovely experience every time I go!

Our family's favourite type of food. Our kids are 9 and 15 yo. We love the smell of the spices, the way the food is shared in one big plate, the server/owner is friendly and happy. It would be nice if the food was served faster, because we are always starving while waiting for the food (35-45 min), but it... More

I've never had this type of food, so I have nothing to compare it to. I've never eaten with my hands either, it was a fun and unusual experience. The family that we went with didn't pre-warn us that this place was very casual, so we were dressed for upscale dining. The folks who brought us were apparently long-time fans... More
