The food was good. However, wasn’t fully impressed with the service quality. The waitress forgot my drink as well as we felt a bit rushed.

Hands down the worst service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. Went to the britannia location for tacos with my friend and our server pretty much ignored us the whole time. After our food we each ordered one taco more each. They only brought...us one of the tacos and the other one never came. I would have said something but our server did not come to our table for 30 mins. as she was busy chatting with her co workers sitting at a booth with them. We were so annoyed we just decided to get our bills and forget about getting the other taco, AND she ended up charging me for the taco that never came :) on top of all this there was no excuse for the awful service as the restaurant was practically dead with only one other table of two. The owners were there working on their laptops at the bar (unprofessional if you ask me) and either did not notice their staff behaving so poorly or noticed and did not care. Can't tell which one is worse. Very disappointing as the food was very good but I will no longer be supporting a business who does not value the few customers they get. Britannias location has rapidly gone downhill over the past few years. Native tounges/A1 cantina is not what it use to be. What a shame.More

Every time I'm in Calgary for work I have to go here, and when I'm back home I dream of this place. Everything is amazing, the margaritas, the chilaquiles, the tacos... This time we happened to visit on taco tuesday and our waitress made some...recommendations for us. We tried the mushrooms on the chilaquiles and WOW; so good we ended up trying the mushroom tacos. The recommendation was amazing, I never would have thought to try it. Recommendations: Chilaquiles w/ Mushrooms & Cochinita Pibil tacos.More

Bomb restaurant with great tacos, solid margs and friendly staff. I get why the ratings are so high for so long. I can’t wait to work through the whole menu, looks great

This is a cool little place, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We started with the mango chili margaritas and the chips and salsa tasting. The drinks were tasty, and it was great to have five different salsa with varying levels of heat from mild...to moderately hot. They specialize in tacos, and we had the birria and carne asada tacos. They were great. The service was good. If we lived nearby, we would be regulars.More

Authentic and delicate Mexican food cooked over open fire. We’ll made margaritas and a selection of local brews. Laid back, intimate and cozy atmosphere, suitable for singles, couples and smaller groups. I would even bring business contacts here for dinner. The staff was friendly and...service minded. Especially the female bartender gave me good guidance in the menu and I ended up having the tuna twice. I’ll definitely come back whenever I get the chance. Highly recommended!More

Go early to get a table, gets busy and they don't take reservations. Great selection of individual tacos, including vegetarian like squash. Everything tastes fresh, and every once in a while smoke from the brisket comes out adding wood fire smell. Good selction of beer...and drinks as well.More

Went for the brunch & definitely enjoyed our meals. Wish I could have ordered the eggs well done in my huevos rancheros-esque Brunch Chilaquiles (management: suggestion alert!). I know that’s sacrilegious in traditional dishes but I despise runny eggs. Opted for the Breakfast Tacos where...I could order my eggs scrambled. The Sopecitos & Papas Fritas (potatoes) we shared—yum! The spot is cozy but super-charming. Be sure to take home a Donas (glazed donut) at the end of your meal! Wait staff were all really great despite my egg disappointment.More

Very good Mexican food. Food was very flavourful and definitely something for everyone. I do wish there were more vegetarian/vegan options but all in all great experience and will be back. Salsa tasting platter was super fun and good. Received lots of chips. Server did...not seem to be in a great mood... I'm assuming she was just having an off day but seemed annoyed when we ask questions about the menu.More

Was expecting more. . . the vibes was great, service was average, tacos delicious but expect it to be small so order 5 tacos if you are hungry. Chips and guacamole was delicious - you could taste that the guac made from scratch. Would not...recommend the classic margarita for drinks and tuna tostada for eats - very disappointing. Pricey for what you get. Not sure if I would return to give it a second chance.More

Native Tongues Taqueria is a small Mexican place with an excellent menu of creative dishes and drinks. It’s not a fancy place but it’s comfortable and welcoming. We enjoyed several different kinds of tacos, a creative ceviche dish and dessert. Everything we ordered was flavorful...and satisfying. Service is cheerful and enthusiastic. Note that the tacos are smaller than the kind you get in chain restaurants so order more than usual. You will enjoy them all. Great spot for a tasty lunch or a relaxing evening meal.More

Maybe it was just a bad day as others seem to like Native Tongues, but we three adults were underwhelmed by our take out yesterday. We ordered 5 different tacos and they all were the same. About 1 tablespoon of filling per taco, lacked flavour...and those that had meat on them were dry and overcooked. First time and likely last time at Native Tongues for us.More

Lovely authentic Mexican food in downtown Calgary. The portions were big and reasonably priced. We would recommend this restaurant.

There were a few kids there but I would suggest it's best to take kids during less busy periods because it can get very crowded and noisy.
