We were staying in Edmonton, and popped in to the Homefire Grill for a takeout dinner (and planned for leftovers).
The Elk lasagna, Bison Burger, and Bison Meatloaf were all fantastic. The portions were generous.
What really impressed us though, was the discovery they had separately packed the top half of the burger bun with the lettuce, tomato and onions, so that the whole burger ensemble would not be soggy when we got back to our hotel to eat dinner. They really put some care and attention into the service.
Happy to support a First Nations owned and operated business, and have no hesitation in recommending Homefire Grill to anyone looking for a quality meal in West Edmonton!

We made a reservation for Valentine’s night when restaurants had just reopened during the pandemic. Food: We had the Valentine’s special which included bannock, Salmon Neptune Mornay followed by Molten Chocolate Cake. It was very good value for the price and each course was served promptly. The bannock with maple butter was delightful. The toppings on the salmon were a little sparse but then they were just toppings and as the salmon was not over cooked I didn’t mind. Portions were generous and although my husband finished every morsel, I couldn’t manage all of mine.
Service: Every member of staff from the hostess to the wait staff and manager made us feel welcome and well cared for. The Covid regulations all seemed to be followed meticulously and I felt as safe as you can in these times. There was a short wait to be seated but once seated the service was excellent.
I appreciated having such a gorgeous night out in a restaurant full of ambiance, caring staff, and delectable food. No disappointments just a very satisfied, full tummy!

I was in Edmonton on business. One of the people in the team recommended Homefire Grill. The food and service were great! The steak sandwich & yam fries were really well done. They even gave me my steak done rare , the way rare should be. After the days meetings I decided to checkout something else on the menu that caught my eye at lunch. I ordered a steak salad with Saskatoon Berry vinaigrette. Because of CoV it was a takeaway order. I got my order drove to my hotel. I was all ready to sit down and enjoy my dinner and.... you guessed it! It was a wrong order. I phoned and they asked, before I had the chance to tell them, if my order was missing something—the steak fir the steak salad! I had to bring it back. I was so unimpressed. On my way there I had already decided to ask for my money back and had a different restaurant on my GPS loaded. You can really tell a lot about a business by how it deals with mistakes. I asked for my money back and they were happy to do so. The manager was very apologetic. When she was almost finished processing my refund, she said, “ us have a chance to show you how good our food is and make it up to you, on us”? I didn’t ask for a replacement. She offered, 3 times. I have to admit that I wasn’t looking fo that. After the 3rd time I said ok. The steak was so tender & juicy I only needed the plastic knife! The Saskatoon berry vinaigrette was delicious! I will go back the next time I’m in Edmonton! Everyone makes mistakes. It was how they handled it that got my business!!

We went here for supper for our last of 3 nights in Edmonton. We thought we were saving the best for last, but were definitely underwhelmed. I had the bbq ribs with rice pilaf and veggies. The veggies were the highlight of my meal. The ribs were ok and a good sized portion, but were really lacking in bbq sauce. My rice pilaf was a joke. It was plain rice stuck in a clump with the odd tiny piece of carrot thrown in. My husband had the bison meatloaf which was quite dry and the gravy tasted like it was packaged with a few Saskatoon berries thrown in. The highlight was our dessert which was a ginger cake with caramel sauce and ice cream. We were trying to decide between it and the lava cake and our waitress said their lava cake was coming from a new supplier now and wasn’t as good so she would recommend the ginger cake. We were honestly surprised that a restaurant that is supposed to be ranked as #18 out of 1801 restaurants in Edmonton would not be making their desserts in house. I guess we shouldn’t have been surprised based on the overall quality of the rest of the meal. We won’t be back next time we are in Edmonton.

If you are in Canada and want the Canadian food experience, this restaurant will give it to you. The elk poutine was an excellent appetizer snd twist on just regular poutine. We had bison burgers as our main course which were cooked exactly as we asked which came with a huge pile of sweet potato fries. There is also bison stew or bison meatloaf on the menu. The staff was friendly and attentive. We intend to go back next time we are up there.

If you decide to try the Homefire grill , you will find quite a few menu options to chose from , fish , steaks from cows , deer buffalo are just a few . The restaurant is open for all three meals in a day . The atmosphere is pleasant and 5here is even a room for a group meal .

First used for Mom's birthday party 12 years ago then for her funeral dinner last week and both times they were awesome. Service is quick, efficient and friendly. Food was great and served close together with a table at a time getting their food, so one person wasn't sitting there while everyone else ate. Kids were served first which was great. We had 30 adults and 6 kids in our family group. We stayed at the Wingate which is right behind them.

Almost next door to several hotels on 100th Ave, Edmonton. An interesting decor with native artwork on the light shades and on the walls. Most attractiv. Most Covic protocols in place with seating and staff wearing masks. No seating at the bar. Wait Service good. Lots of native style food on the menu. We shared a plate of bison spring rolls (no vegetables in them), came with black and white sesame seeds and a light dipping sauce, quite delicious. Our steak sandwiches, unfortunately ( along with yam or French fries and coleslaw).were tough and some parts were unchewable which was a pity.

A group of 10 of us had dinner on a Wednesday night. We were seated right away, there was not a table large enough for us but we sat at two tables across from each other.
Service was really good, the menu had changed slightly from was we were able to view online with less options and prices had gone up. I had the Bannock & Herb Crusted Chicken and it was fantastic, my daughter had pizza and said it was really good.
This is my third time coming here, it is a nice place to dine.

My wife and I are never disappointed coming to this place. The service and food always seems to be above average. The inside atmosphere is cozy. Always a pleasure to deal with the staff.
They cater to a wide range of tastes, including some “wild game” meat like elk and bison. This evening I had their version of “crusted pork chop” and I will say it was cooked perfectly and delicious with many flavour layers! My wife had the elk lasagne and she was equally impressed.
If you want a truly good dining experience without having to “break the bank”, we highly recommend this restaurant.

We've had several family celebrations in the private dining room (as well as the main dining area) and the Homefire Grill continues to be our family favourite! Tonight we celebrated our elderly Mother/Grandmother/Great Grandmother's birthday and from the delicious food and great service from Cole, to Darryl dropping by to wish our Mother a happy birthday and make her feel special - we enjoyed another wonderful dining experience. Thank you to the Homefire Grill and we shall return! :)

We went to the Homefire Grill for a birthday celebration dinner. Thank goodness we made a reservation as the restaurant got pretty busy. We started with an order of Bannock. It was delicious and we ended up ordering a second basket. We didn’t need it but it was just that good. We ordered Elk Lasagne, Steak Sandwich, Bison Burger, Country Club Sandwich, Spinach Salad and a kids chicken fingers with fries. All in f the food came out perfect. The Elk Lasagne was a big hit, steak was cooked to perfection and very flavourful, club sandwich was great and the Bison burger was very good too. The little one enjoyed her chicken fingers and our vegetarian person enjoyed the spinach salad. For dessert we ordered a half baked chocolate chip cookie and an Island Delight. We can’t wait to go back. Our server Cole was very attentive and did an awesome job taking care of our table. The restaurant is clean and it’s obvious that they take pride in the restaurant. Side note: our little one loved the kids toilet! Lol

Ordered some food to go today. The server Julie was so helpful and friendly from the moment we walked in. Food tasted awsome, however I feel the amount of styrofoam packaging is a little wasteful. I give it an overall 9/10 and will definitely be back our next visit to Edmonton!

What a unique menu - and the food was SUPERB! Our server was among the best we've ever encountered (and we've eaten at some highly rated places.) Thank you to all at the restaurant, but especially Stacey for making it a delightful evening.

This was my first time to this Restaurant, will it be my last…no. I believe I will try again.
First I must say the waitresses were top notch. Very attentive to our needs.
The reason I have given the rating that I did was due to the food. I ordered my sirloin medium rare which came well done and it was on the tough side. Why didn’t I send it back? Because it took the kitchen a very long time to get it out to the waitstaff. Plus we were very hungry. I believe a good chef should at least know how to grill an 8oz steak and not have to cover it up with gravy.
