Wendy, our server is very friendly and attentive. Always have a bright smile. The Dorinku Appetizer Platter is awesome! There are 7 small dishes which the three of us were able to taste each dish. Because they are usually busy, they don't take reservations. However,...with quick service, you'll get a table pretty quick.More

Was a busy night. Not elegant but the staff is friendly. Service is quick. Excellent miso soup. Good sushi. A bit salty. Worth it. Crowded and tight but good food and service.

A pleasant surprise from restaurant setting, staff friendliness to food quality. Glad to witness that Edmonton restaurant scene has taken a giant step forward. We had a variety of food that night, sushi, sashimi, ramen, salad and braised beef shank. All were extremely well prepared...and presented. A great venue for individuals who live on the Southside of Edmonton.More

We are from out of town and make it a priority to come to this restaurant every visit. Friendly staff and great service, all of the food we have ever tried is amazing, and it is reasonably priced. Cannot recommend enough! Make sure to get...the Shaka Shaka fries.More

Food here tastes great and atmosphere is eclectic. Lots of options especially if you want to share with the other people at your table. A bit expensive but worth it.

We ordered online for delivery and was very disappointed in the quality of their pressed sushi platter. The food did not taste fresh, the rice was not moist and the flavours were not as authentic as we would’ve preferred. We will not be returning here.

Friend and I walked up and down Whyte Ave for about 20 min looking for somewhere to have dinner. Did not have Japanese style food in mind, however walking back towards hotel we saw this restuarant, with several separated booths and tables. Atmosphere was warm...and welcoming, service was exceptional, and the menu selection had a great variety including interesting twists on traditional Japanese (tacos). We had Fukomaki (tempura shrimp roll, a bit large in diameter to eat), 3 kind of sahimi (tuna, salmon, and squid), Ebi Mayo (really good - recommend), and our favorite of the evening - Perfect Crime (tuna, avocado, cucumber, cream cheese, jalapeño). Complemented with fantastic green tea.More

We went here for lunch and was taken by surprise how delicious the food was. The sashimi were fresh and melt in your mouth. The presentation was fabulous and the tasted awesome!!! It was so tasty that we returned with our family that same day...at night for dinner. We absolutely loved the pressed salmon, pressed avocado. The steak was brought out on a volcanic stone from Fuji mountain, it was to die for!! We tried the bloody hell chicken was very spicy but the chicken was crunchy and full of flavour. I would recommend to have the sauce on the side. The 5 Kind sashimi was delish! The Shaka Shaka fries were amazing. Chef's platter was alright. Tako Wasabi is a must! Both the desserts were good, but the almond tofu pudding is so Yum. The quality and creativity is top notch. Highly recommend this place. Our servers at lunch and dinner were great!!More

Ever since we came back from Japan, Canadian Japanese food has never tasted the same except this place reminds us of our time in Tokyo Japan. Sushi rice was spot on, especially the Salmon Roll. The short rib teriyaki was perfectly done. Service was attentive.

I recently go there to eat, but everything is so overpriced for the portions we get. Most likely wont be coming back. The servers were wearing a gloves, essentially for there own safety cause they don't change it or wash the gloves and that bothered...me a lot. I didn't feel safe!!!More

We were hungry before an Oilers game so we decided to try Dorinku on Jasper Ave. on the recommendation of a friend. We were glad we did. The food was excellent and the atmosphere was lively. Dorinku is close enough to the Ice District and...the re-vitalization of downtown Edmonton is slowly coming along. It wasn't too long ago that downtown Edmonton was not the place to be unless you wanted to be panhandled. The food at Dorinku was flavourful and unique. It was tasty but the portions were a bit small. I want to go back and try some of their other creations. Definitely worth a visit before or after an Oilers game.More

This Japanese restaurant has authentic Japanese food with very polite servers, a sushi bar, and the best ramen in Edmonton. It was recommended by a Japanese person who was in Edmonton for a while.

I love this place and I go very often. I find the food here is delicious and the serving is small plate to share, which is what Izakayas are. I like the ambience-- bustling and full of life, which is how Izakayas should be. I...like the jug of beer, the food, and just everything about this place. Just you know, you should know what you are going to-- it's not a regular place. Izakayas are meant to be an informal bar serving small plates and drinks not actual full meals.More
