Located in a strip mall behind a McDonald's this restaurant is as truly Indian food as one is likely to get in this part of the world. Not fancy, but also not expensive - worth checking out!

Ordered food take out only to find a used bandaid in my sambhar at the end of my meal. Couldn’t eat for two days in a row. Nasty place no concern for public health and safety. Lazy owners, will never go back!!!!!

I like this place. Many restaurants in the city claims that they serve Kerala Food. Most of them serves North Indian. The buffet at this place is great. If you go to the other Kerala restaurant in the town, you need to pay for each...dish individually. Try once, you will like it if you need real Kerala taste. The only thing I couldn't find here is the Fish Biriyani.More

Best south indian food in Capital city. I googled for best south indian food in Edmonton.they have a top position.Me and my family went there around past lunch time. Not very busy place at that time. Mathew (Owner) helped us to select his signature south india...dishes.My wife and my mom order World Famous masala dosa , my both both kids choose cheese dosa and i choose Mysore dosa.i am fond of india food.there is three things important in india food and it must be there in every indian food.First is zaika (taste) khushoo( smells good) and last is swastey(healthy) and believe me Malalaz food is full of these three things. Do not forget to order madras filter coffee or indian masala tea.they have buffet as well but i was late for that. Thanks you masalaz.we will be backMore

There are a few South Indian places in Edmonton now, and I haven't yet tried them all, but of the ones I have, so far Masalaz is my favourite. Their curries are great, according to friends and family that have tried them, but I always...go for the dosas there because they are my favourite. They have good prices, too. I personally am not a fan of the buffet because there are not that many options like you would find at other restaurants, but I'm satisfied with ordering off the menu because they have enough stuff I like to eat.More

As a student, what origonally attracted me to go across the city to this lovely East Indian place was the amazing prices - that and I am also visiting India soon. The owner Matthew remembers me every time I go in. I dine alone, but...I never feel awkward or anything. Matthew makes good suggestions on what to try as I like trying something new often. As a student I feel at home and I can afford it, without sacrificing taste! There have been some negative reviews, but something has clearly changed for the better or else there is new owners. My favourite thing on the menu are the dosas.More

Do not get fooled by external appearances, this restaurant has unique flavour-full food. Edmonton is The Place for authentic ethnic food. About Indian Food it does not get any better in Edmonton than in Millwoods. Restaurants there are nice, have a great value for money...and smell amazing. So my wife and I ventured into Millwoods and we decided to try the first restaurant that appeared in our way. It was Masalaz. They serve South Indian Food. What does that mean?... It means Great Vegetarian dishes, spicy food, great Chutneys, coconut sauces, and dozens of dishes beyond the over-exploited butter chicken. If you like Indian food, Masalaz is a must to expand your experience. The value is amazing... My wife and I tried the vegetarian buffet, dishes were great and we even got a large and tasty Dhosa ALL FOR $12 CAD each. One of the best worldwide value for money experiences. The place is full with locals and I learned that it has been in business for 10 years or so. Locals might have wanted to keep the secret without posting reviews in Tripadvisor... It is your chance to try it, secret uncovered!More
