New Years Eve. Set menu with multiple choices for entrees. Everything was great and the portions were substantial. The entrees were large and focused on wild game like boar, elk, alligator, and kangaroo. For desert I had ice cream with a fruit compote. Very tasty...and a nice compliment to the meal. Price was very reasonable for what you received. We had the early seating (5:30) and were finished at 8:00. Server was attentive and provided welcome advice.More

I have tasted Normand’s food before but this was my first in-store visit. I found the restaurant, which was busy to be very noisy and very dark. In fact the darkness prevented us from seeing the colours on the plate. I guess nobody told them...presentation adds to the dining experience. I had the seafood stew - Bouillabaisse and potatoes, which was less flavourful than expected. My wife had the Free-Range chicken and wild shrimp vegetables curry, which she loved. We shared the pate, which was good. The service was fine but I think the waiter was more impressed with our meals than I was. I guess he has never had seafood stew made by a bunch of women from Nova Scotia. Now that was an excellent stew.More

Had dinner here based on the recommendation of friends. Food (seafood dishes) was excellent. Service attentive without being intrusive. Very good value for money for fine dining. Would I return? You bet.

This was our first visit to Normand’s, which was at the suggestion of friends. Full disclosure, our friend picked-up our meals. I had the “Lobster, scallops, wild jumbo shrimp with a Mornay sauce” and my wife had the “Mediterranean salad with salmon”. Both meals were...great. Maybe in retrospect, my meal was better than great. The “Mornay sauce” was really special, and it was my first encounter with this treatment. Again, the sauce was excellent. (I could eat this sauce on cereal. Gosh, it was good!). I thought the price was a little high and hence the lack of full marks. Because of the cost this restaurant will likely be reserved for really special occasions.More

I honestly thought this place had closed a while ago, and was surprised to be invited to dine there. It is pretty much how I remembered it. They had a 4 course dinner for two but we went ala cart. Everything was very good. Service...was good. It ranks high for Edmonton restaurants and deservedly so. It was not very busy the evening we went, but also there was an Oilers game on at the time.More

Four of us enjoyed our first visit to this fantastic restaurant. The food was delicious, the owner waited on us himself (he is very charming) and the interior is very lovely. Unlike so many restaurants it was quite enough to carry on a conversation. All...in all, it was a fabulous experience. I highly recommend it for a special evening out.More

I was very clear about the date that I needed a reservation. To be certain, I repeated the day, date and time back to the maitre d'. Unfortunately, the reservation was erroneously scheduled for a week earlier. On that day, I received a call from...the restaurant. I attempted to politely clarify the date of the reservation. Without provocation, the restaurant employee swore; blamed me for the error; very tersely corrected the mistake and then promptly hung up on me. I was quite taken aback. I've never had an establishment manage to offend me before I even set foot in its place of business. I canceled the reservation altogether. Such a shame, as I'd have liked to enjoy what is rumored to be excellent food.More

The service and the food choices are the best of the fine dining category in Edmonton. Not mistaken you always get what you pay for....Its a real treat once a month or once a year. This is a classic Edmonton eatery. It has been around for 33 years and still going strong. The service is excellent. The servers are incredible. But the food is what you come to enjoy. The wild game menu is really good, and tonight the special...was Kangaroo, Ostrich, and Pork Belly. There is a limited amount of this special, but it is well worth it if it is available.More

Everything was awesome…our server, the food, and even a visit from Normand himself:) You get a real sense of pride from all the staff and it is clear that the chefs take their work very seriously. Three of us couldn’t have been happier with the...total Normand’s experience. This is now my go-to spot for great food and atmosphere. Great menu and a chance to try something that we don’t normally have access to like elk and boar, and several other domestic meat options for those who do not want to try something new. We sincerely appreciate the passion and quality that Normand’s delivers. Just Fantastic! Try to save room for dessert;)…trust me.More

Visited for the first time for our anniversary and we were not disappointed! Never even heard of this place before, but based on their (well desevered) high TA status, we thought we'd check it out. The owner was actually doing a lot of the up-front...work, checking in guests when they arrive, checking on tables, etc which ws nice to see. We gathered that he has a lot of repeat customers, and probably has for years if not decades. The food and service were fantastic, and there was a lot of interesting items on the menu (kangaroo and elk steaks!). We will be back again. Thank you!More

Making a wedding during a pandemic can be challenging and frustrating. When I wanted to host a wedding dinner, Normand's made it easy. His suggestion of Kir Royale for a pre dinner drink was spot on, as was his suggestions for the appetizers as well....He even make mocktails for the youngsters and they were thrilled. After that, everyone ordered an entree from the menu. Normand and his staff handled 29 orders with military precision. The food, as always, was spectacular and the service was stellar. We introduced a few people to wild game for the first time and they were pleasantly surprised as to how tasty it was. I was also pleasantly surprised when the bill came as well. It was a lot less than I expected, even with the drinks! This is why he has been in business for over 30 years. You can always count on me for repeat business and after tonight, you have gained a lot more customers. Thank you to Normand and his staff for making this a memorable evening. Give Normand's a try and you will be very happy you did.More

My husband and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and wanted a delicious meal - for our appetizer, we had the liver pata and cream of mushroom soup which were both excellent.
