Had a chance to eat here again after the covid fiasco. Been my go to for lamb ribs for years and did not disappoint. Prices up a bit but portions are the same. Best Ekmek I have ever had too.

The menu was good and the appetizers we had were fine. However, the venue is rather loud and we found conversation difficult. Then, within :30 minutes of sitting down the music was cranked and a belly dancer started to dance and shake throughout the restaurant....She was poking people to participate as she twirled her scarf around peoples necks and heads. It was now so intolerably loud we asked the waitress how long the act would continue for and she said :10 minutes. After :20 minutes it was still going on so we asked for our check and left. Very disappointing. If you are looking for a restaurant where you can talk to your dinner companions this is not it.More
Did my homework, read all reviews…it was okay, nothing spectacular. Found my food really dry and scalding hot. Portions were way to big. Lovely location and nice atmosphere.
Excellent dinner with rack of lamb done to perfection medium rare and the jumbo prawns. We also had the combo platter appetizer but soon learned we should have ordered the flaming cheese appetizer just to watch the waitress light it on fire! Service was wonderful.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere and a patio. The food was authentic and tasty. The pita bread was very disappointing. It was the same as what I can buy at the grocery store.
We were greeted by a professional hostess and the environment was very clean. They accommodated our group size by moving tables together and making sure that we had lots of clearance for our movement and our servers movement. The food was excellent and the prices...were reasonable. The portion sizes were nice. The Saginaki, chicken souvlaki and cheesecake dessert we’re all excellent.More
Went for dinner there at end of August 2021 with my wife, son and his girlfriend. Was 1/2 to 2/3 full and were seated at a good table near front of restaurant. Our server actually sat us down and from the start seemed abrupt, disinterested...and distracted. No friendliness whatsoever. Not rude but stoic. We ordered a bottle of wine and a high ball and seemed to take a while and when she brought the wine she simply ripped it open and poured away to three glasses right away before even offering tasting??? She didn't even say anything about her mistake?...or did she know? We are not wine snobs by any means and it was fine but almost tacky on the servers part and she didn't seem to care or didn't know. Had she done that with some people they may have just cancelled it. She never re-filled any of our wine glasses and we did on our own but not a big deal. We ordered our meal and again she was looking around out on Whyte Ave and didn't really seem to be paying attention. Asked a question and she said, "huh...what was that?" My son and his girlfriend ordered one of the platters and asked the server if they could swap the calamari for keftedes as he has a seafood allergy. He explained it isn't a deathly allergy but makes him quite sick. She said that would be okay. We ordered an additional appetizer of hummus and pita and they brought out our pita and hummus and then hummus and pita that was to go with our meal. It had two dips with it which were hummus and an unknown pinky white dip. My son took a big scoop of the dip with some pita and then had a weird look on his face? He said he thought the dish had fish in it. We didn't touch it and when the server showed up a while later we asked whether the dip had fish in it. She replied, "oh s**t!" and apologized...kind of. We didn't make a big deal but later I though what if it was a deathly allergy? The rest of the food came in a timely manner. I had chicken souvlaki and found it was chicken thighs which were very tasty but was expecting chicken breasts as that is what 90% of Greek restaurants have served that I have been to. Maybe this should have been pointed out at least on the menu? My wife had the moussaka which she said was delicious. Ekmek for dessert that was excellent. Maybe time for some remedial training on the servers part because other than that it was real good but cant really rate it any higher than 2 due to this performance. Still tipped as not fair the cooks and everyone else get nothing because of her service performanceMore
I love it! food, servers everything spotless! 5 star experience! Nice selection of wines from around the world. Definitely will be back!
A delightful dining experience on the patio of Yianni’s on Whyte! Our waiter was so friendly and the food and drinks were absolutely wonderful!
The location and atmosphere are excellent the vegetables were excellent and tasty, the service was very good but three of the five proteins were overcooked, dry and tough.More

Was so lovely to get out again- visited on the weekend restaurants opened post lockdown. Beautiful patio , great food variety and service was fantastic. We had the dolmades, calamari, moussaka and chicken. Everything was fresh , well presented and tasted great! Will be back...for sureMore
Thank you for coming in to Yiannis! We hope you have a wonderful summer and we look forward to seeing you again!
Dinner for first time after lockdown, so very pleasant. Place was full. Tzatziki was spelled correctly, but it's really more than a bland yoghurt dip. And I'd have hoped for a bit more than broth cooked rice for pilaf. But the beef and pork skewers...were very well marinated and tasty, cooked just right. Ambience very good, as usual.More
So picture a pandemic that has gone on to the point of complete shutdown of all restaurants, but as we were travelling as a result of necessity, we had to eat. Everywhere was only either a take out or delivery option. We didn’t have much...luck and had some crappy food. Until we ordered from Yiannis. Best food the entire trip. Great lemon chicken soup, dolmetes and Greek salad with superior seasoning on the chicken souvlakis. Everything was packaged perfectly and so delicious. And hot. So good. Don’t be afraid to order. It was wonderful. Best of luck to them to continue another 40 years.More
We contemplated going there as there was no one in the restaurant..but after seeing other people saying it was amazing...we gave it a try and glad we did! Excellent service, atmosphere and the food was excellent. Chicken was cooked and seasoned perfect, and the rice...and salad was equally as good and very fresh. We will definately be back.More
The service was excellent, especially by the owner Tammy. Our table was perfectly placed for safety and atmosphere. The food was excellent. We particularly enjoyed the chicken souvlaki and the rice.
Thank you for the review! We are very happy to hear that you felt safe and you enjoyed the food. It has been a challenging time but we are determined to see this through with our loyal and wonderful customers.
