Stopped here for breakfast with our family for Thanksgiving breakfast before we all went our ways. We were seated at 2 separate tables when we arrived due to covid rules. When waitress took our table of 3 order first and then proceeded to take another...tables order after instead of our adjoining table. We had received our food 10 mins to 15 mins before our other party even got there's and were finished eating. This kind of was poorly managed and she was very aware our tables were together. The food was average at best. The homemade ketchup is very acidic if you like this. Breakfast hashbrowns were fairly dried out as was the toast.. The cinnamon bun that I ordered to go was pretty good. I am sure I will be heating it up a bit and putting some butter on it when I arrive back home. Nothing special in this restaurant and would not eat here again.More

I've always loved the HLD - local, organic, delicious food and fabulous staff - so I was excited when I received an email saying they were open for takeout during this pandemic. Not only are they open for takeout, they've also created a additional special..."Hygge menu" with options for purchasing family size portions! We bought homemade borscht, cinnamon buns, Gluten-free Tourtiere and several other items to share with others isolated during this time. The food was incredibly delicious and very reasonably priced! Staff was friendly and so helpful - my order was packaged when I arrived and they helped carry it all out to my vehicle- in spite of the fresh, heavy snow that had just fallen!More

I live in Calgary and was trying to send Easter dinner to my 91-year old father in Edmonton. During the COVID pandemic delivery is almost impossible. When I tried to order from High Level Diner, there was no possibility of delivery. However, when I explained...why I couldn't pick up myself, the very kind woman who answered my call said she would do the delivery herself after her shift. OMG!! What a beautiful soul! Thank you, thank you thank you!More

Hi - I called to order their famous cinnamon buns for Easter treats for my coworkers this week. Their packaging and delivery for curb pickup was excellent! And I appreciated that this was still available and easy to access. It was much appreciated!

We came to the High Level Diner during a walk around Old Strathcona. I had the fish taco special, which was disappointing as it was a large, deep fried fish fillet placed on a bed of mixed greens and pickled onions on top a a...wrap. It tasted okay but fork and knife was required. My hubby had smoked salmon quesadilla. It was also just okay. On the positive side, my cappuccino and his latte were delicious.More

I was at the High Level Diner for breakfast based on a recommendation. It was very disappointing! The breakfast was nothing special; it was no better than a meal at Smitty's or Albert's. The worst was that the prices were ridiculously high for what you...get in terms of amount and quality. It cost approx. $15.00 for a SMALL omelette with only ONE side; that is one can choose only toast or only hash browns or only bacon etc. I find this so odd given that most breakfast places will include all three for the same - or lower - price. There are far better breakfast places for far better value! I will not go back but will go to a restaurant that does great breakfasts for a fair price...and where parking is not such a hassle.More

It’s been a long while. Glad we returned. Borscht was excellent. Burgers were very good though meat was overdone as far as I was concerned. Homemade ketchup and salsa were wonderful.

Went here after work one morning with some friends. I like how they are open at 730, perfect for those night shifters 😁 I wish they could serve alcohol early though! Breakfast was good. I had the eggs benny with hash browns. The hash browns...weren’t anything spectacular. The service was good. The hot chocolate was delicious and you get a ton of whipped cream on top! The cinnamon buns are amazing! I got one to go!!!!! Soooooooo good. The atmosphere is cozy and you get a nice little view of the downtown area. Perfect for brunch with the gals or a nice little date night.More

Really enjoyed our meal and atmosphere. Very busy on a Sunday morning. But line moves fast and efficiently. Husband says best Benny he had in a long time. Partner had to move car just as food arrived. Server quickly removed our order to keep warm...till he returned. Order was still PERFECT! Will be back more often.More

In the city for an event and missing lunch, we stopped here for an early supper. Service and food are always consistent and this occasion was no different. I had the Cottage Pie and my ife had chicken fajitas. Both were good.
