Went to New Yor Bagel cafe and we were discrimnated because we have a 10 month old baby. First we were told babies are not allowed to the patio, then we fought them, they allowed. But when we asked for a high chair they said...they can't put a high chair on the patio. When we asked why not, the answer was that's just a rule we have. We left. Not coming back again.More
Went out for a nice Mothers Day breakfast Absolutely ruined the day After 1 hour and 30 minutes, we asked how much longer it would be, the waitress told us were impatient and biting. The entrance steps to the Cafe are dangerous!! The steps should be fixed and a hand rail attached for safety of the patrons. The steep brick ramp is also not user friendly and pose a risk! Masks are NOT encouraged at this site unfortunately. The...food was good but over priced.More
The New York Bagel Cafe was so great to us, it was our first time eating there and we were treated like family. Amazing server and the food was unforgettable. I Believe the word that I actually used when I took my first bite was..."magical". Definitely the best restuarant or cafe experience we've ever had. The coffees were incredible too. This place has gotten a lot of hate online for their prices, and ya - a great brunch is not going to be cheap (lord help you if you drink) but New York Bagel Cafe arguably offers some of the best bruch value out there!...It is not the type of place to duck in for a quick bite - but if you are able to enjoy a good meal they will not disappoint! Such a nice quaint place very homey. The menu i have never seen so many varieties of egg Benedict . There is something for everyone. And to try something very new and different. We finally went to this place for the first time after 20 years of driving by it. Boy were we missing out the Dillpickle soup is the best we've ever had and the eggs Benedict for Scooter and Asperigus has now become her favourite breakfast....We took on the desert because we were so full and we're excited to try it this evening. 7 adults 2 young. Have brunch here on Sunday. It was our treat in Edmonton. Varieties of choices. Good value. Healthful food, the eggs are perfect cooked. Fruits are fresh and good choices. Coffee is good. They serve alcohol. The place always full : so...keep in mind you have to wait. Cozy atmosphere. We will visit again with our friends and family. Parking near by. Nice place, nice atmosphere and friendly service, I've honestly had better bagels in other places (like Montreal) but this might be the best place in Edmonton
Waitress upsold me on ordering the $36 eggs benedict with pulled duck, which came covered in BBQ sauce - not at all gourmet cooking. Hollandiase sauce was very average. I asked for soft poached eggs and got hard. When I complained. I got an appology...but no offer to redo my meal. This place was a waste of my time and money. I met a friend here for brunch. We were both shocked at the prices for breakfast and lunch items at over $20 and $26. My breakfast was Ok and her bagel with smoked salmon and cream cheese was average for $26. Service was very slow....It took 25 minutes to get our food after we ordered and we were the second ones to get a table after it opened. We were disappointed.More
Was looking for some place different to have brunch and found this hidden gem. They make the most delicious eggs benedict in numerous ways (at least 20) on a home made bagel. I cannot give them enough praise for their cooking and presentation! Fruit along...side of main dish was in beautiful display, did not want to disturbed the beauty of the display :) Service was great "no complaints" nothing but delicious in an old style setting, most definitely going back!More
My husband and I stopped in to New York Bagel since it was across from the theatre and we wanted a bite before the matinee performance. We were shocked by the prices: $22 for French toast? However we ordered 2 other menu items.The service was...a bit slow and the food was good but the final bill was over $40 for breakfast.More
I don't mind that your prices are horrendous and make no sense. I don't care if it organic I can get organic even at a restaurant for much cheaper but it is the attitude you put on display when talking to the media that soured...me completely from your restaurant. You should work on being less rude and more kind and inviting but it's your business. If you want to run it into the ground that is up to you.More
