Disappointing experience

We have visited Amazing Wok several times for pickup of the Gourmet meal for two. Usually we are very happy with the food quality and freshness. On tis occasion we were quite disappointed. We phoned in our order, and when we arrived the order was wrong. Once we received our correct order and arrived in our hotel room we found that the appetizer chicken wings were very overcooked, the chicken balls were huge balls of dough with small pieces of tough chicken inside, there were no spring rolls, and the garlic ribs were very dried out. furthermore, the chicken fried rice was cold, and the ginger beef was very tough. Obviously we were very disappointed

Amazing Taste in a suburb location near a busy road.

Have not been back here in 3 years but glad the place still operating. With a location near Ellerslie Road which is quite busy, accessibility is good. The quality and taste of the food is quite amazing compared to most downtown now. They are very busy with takeout, delivery orders, phone orders in addition to dine in. The staff are busy managing all. I would be back again since the quality and taste are amazing for Edmonton standards now. Bring patience with you on your visit whether you are picking up an order, placing an order or dining it. Then you will enjoy the food better.

Great Chinese Food Close to Home!

My wife and I regularly order our Chinese food from this restaurant and we haven't been disappointed yet! We order the dinner for two and it is enough to feed at least three or maybe even four! The food is made quick and it always hot and tastes so good!!! I highly recommend this place if you are living on the Southside close to Ellerslie Road.

Friendly Host. Food is delicious and fast service. We enjoyed the ambiance and lots of parking in the vicinity. Will recommend to friends and family. Will come again next month. We are in the area for medical reason.

Billing messed up

We came back to this restaurant with our friends as foods here tasted good the 1st time we went. Unfortunately, we encountered several issues tonight. The server was nice, and the foods taste great as expected until one of our kids saw hair from the fried rice on his plate. When we found a second one on a dish plate, we decided to let the server know, and they showed it to the cook. The server apologized to us. We accepted it even if it wasn’t seem to be a big deal for them. That was the 1st issue. Second issue was, after we paid and we were waiting for the dessert of our kids, the cashier called us and she said that she messed up with the bill. She gave the bill of the other table to us. So we fixed it and paid whatever we owed. Third issue was when I followed up our dessert of 2 ice cream and the cashier said I need to pay for it again because she did not bill it to us. I said just cancel it because we waited long enough for it, I already paid which we thought the OVERALL bill and our companions were ready to go. I was also advised lastly that the crackers we added weren’t billed TOO yet even though the cashier already asked us to settle our bill. We came back at the front 3 times to pay bills repeatedly. It was confusing and hassle for us as we have kids with us. Foods are satisfactory but our experience tonight is not good knowing that they didn’t really bother about the hair that we have seen and billing wasn’t accurate.

Inedible "Food" !

We ordered Amazing Wok's "special (for 2 people)" for New Year's Eve dinner. Delivery took 90 mins, but with that said, it was NYE. The food looked good and the amount was reasonable. That was about as good as it gets! The Ginger Beef and Sweet & Sour Pork looked like how my dogs bully sticks would look if they were twisted, battered and deep fried. The texture was incredibly tough and to chew this "meat" was challenging in itself. I have to wonder the quality of meat that is used. The appetizers included were not very appetizing either. The chicken wings were dry like sawdust, and the chicken balls were over-battered. I had to do a "search and rescue" to find the chicken in those balls. If it wasn't NYE, I would have driven back to Amazing Wok to return their suboptimal food. Not worth what we paid for.

OVERCHARGED

Upon arrival, we didn't see any customers dining. While setting our table, the server threw our plates and bowls onto the table as though she's in a rush. The restaurant was not even busy! When our dish came, at first we thought this restaurant was very generous with their food portion. The dish ordered had larger portion than other restaurants. However, when the bill came, its cost was doubled than listed in the menu! The server took the liberty to double our order which we didn't request.

Newer Asian food destination for our family

Being a newer resident to the Edmonton area (only part time), our family needed to find a new Asian restaurant. The choices in the area are endless but we are becoming very fond of the Amazing Wok. The staff are excellent and very efficient. The menu is large and has an excellent selection of authentic Chinese dishes as well as dishes that have been westernized for our liking. Great restaurant and we will return again on our next stay in Edmonton.

Terrible food

Give the restaurant a second try and it was actually worse! Very bland, chicken balls had way to much batter. Green onion cake was hard on the edges, center was edible. The Cantonese chow mein was tasteless! Rice rolls with shrimp was doughy. I should of walked out when there wasn’t a soul inside eating.

received my order at first glace the peking chow mein noodles looked kind of burnt and the taste proved that they were ... the ginger beef was rock hard, tasted burnt as well and even my little pooch would not eat it and it went straight to the garbage .. i will admit that the beef and broccoli was good in flavor but the broccoli was almost raw...the green onion cakes were overcooked and tough if you can imagine .. will not ever order from the amazing wok .. very unhappy customer

Absolutely terrible food!! Threw most of it out! Picked up an order during the covid shut down, dry ribs tasted like old grease, curry Singapore noodles were nasty. Worst food we have ever had!

On December 20th at 5:00 pm we placed an order for $60 worth of food for Delivery and was told it would be about an hour. At 6:25 I phoned to follow up and see if there was an issue as it had not yet arrived and was told by a very snotty woman it was on its way (she didn’t even ask my name or which order it was) I phone again at 6:45 as it was still not here and again was again told it’s on its way. It finally arrived at 7:05 and I asked the driver if it normally takes 2 hours for delivery and the driver said no not really! Of course my food was cold and well disgusting. I phone them again and explained my issues. I was told they were busy and she would discuss this with the manager who would call me back. It’s now been NINE DAYS and have not heard anything. It definitely was not worth the $60 bucks spent and the two hour wait for delivery and ultimately cold food. This was a special treat for me and my son and a lot of money for me to spend on one meal. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. They clearly do not care about their customers. NEVER again will I order from Amazing Wok.

Take Out Chicken Chow Mein - Rip Off!!

I ordered one order of Chicken Chow Mein last evening for take-out. I was told it will be ready in 15 minutes and the food was ready for pick up when I arrived. It cost me $14.70 with GST. When I picked up the box, it felt kind of cold. I live about 3-minute driving distance from the store. When I opened the box at home, the food was cold! The item was served in a half-filled 19X12 cm styrofoam box. It was only noodles with some bean sprout, three pieces of one-inch cut green beans, and four pieces 1.5-inch long shredded chicken!! It was nothing but a total rip-off!!! Only positive thing was that it wasn't full of salt!! We had been to this restaurant multiple times before and had dinner and overall we were quite satisfied. But, this time, it was a disaster!! I don't think I would order any take-out from this restaurant again.

We came here for lunch and ordered the BBQ buns, meatballs, and kung pao chicken. The meatballs and BBQ buns were are favorite. The kung pao chicken was good cause it was actually spicy but some of the chicken pieces were a bit rubbery so we probably wouldn't order that again. Looking at other tables their dim sum items all looked really good and we would go back to try more of them. We found the pricing to be a bit high but portions were large so its a bit of a trade off. Service was really good and we never ran out of water / tea and she would often check on us which was nice. Overall we would try again but I think we would stick with dim sum.
