One of the great places to eat in town, Monica’s Family Restaurant Grande Prairie is dedicated to providing great food and the perfect family experience. With only quality ingredients and an experienced kitchen team, everything sent to your table is something we would be proud to serve our own families. Our goal is to make sure all of our guests feel at home and, with this in mind, we’ve introduced our new vegan menu and Gluten-Free to ensure there is something here for everyone. Whether you’re flying solo, or out with you’re with friends for some casual dining, Monica’s is second only to home for a warm and friendly atmosphere, and for food and drink to remember. Great pancake breakfast

Had a great traditional pancakes breakfast. The yummy food was ready promptly with perfect eggs and tasty bacon, well appreciated. Thanks to my server Misty for the excellent and friendly service, will be back soon for sure 😊

Family breakfast

On short notice we decided to take out 4 grandchildren (all under 11) to Monica’s for breakfast. The staff were able to get us seated right away and quickly interacted with the kids in a fun way. All the kids items were reasonably priced and perfect portions for the kids. I had the big breakfast and my wife had the avocado toast which she loved. When we visit Grade Prairie we will be back for sure.

Great food, super friendly service!

My daughter and I were on a long road trip through Canada, and we found the website and menu for this restaurant a few hours before we got there. We stopped for lunch, and we are so glad we did! We were at the tail end of the lunch crowd, and we felt like the server went above and beyond to make us feel welcome! Her name was Misty, and she was wonderful! She helped us decide between several options on the menu, she was attentive and lots of fun, even though she was extremely busy. We felt like we met a new friend by the time we left. The food was great, and the decor was really nice. A delightful stop on a long journey!

I don’t usually write a lot of these reviews,,, but I have been very disappointed the last few visits. I’ve been coming on the weekends whenever we get the taller waitress ,, we never get our food at the same time,, one plate at a time. So when I’m done eating last person is just getting their food. So annoying. Why not use a tray so we can eat together. The other lady uses a tray. Another thing,, they got smaller plates so the presentation of the food is awful The food is falling off the side of the plate as u are eating it. Who ever is running that kitchen should be embarrassed.

We went for breakfast to Monica's on Monday, September 20, 2021. The Egg's Benedict was disappointing as the Hollandaise sauce was a pale yellow sauce with no flavour. Order was one Eggs Benedict and second order was sausage and eggs. Breakfast for two with two coffees was almost $50. When paying with credit card, options for a tip were from 15% to 30%. This is not the United States where minimum wage is far lower than in Canada and in many states, waitresses and waiters receive far less than minimum wage at $2.50 per hour. When you pay for your meal in many states, you are not paying for service hence it is appropriate to pay for service by tipping. Here in Canada, we very much dislike intimidating tactics to extract a large tip from the customer. Having the credit card machine set for 15% to 30% is intimidating and the inference is that those rates are the expectation of the service staff. If waiting staff were being paid less than $5 per hour, the prices on the menu would be much lower. In reality, $49 for two breakfasts is paying for the service and is an expensive breakfast to start with. We will not be returning to Monica's as the food and facility do not justify the high prices. Great food and great service

I’ve been staying in Grand Prairie this entire week and so far I have ordered a different item off the menu every single day at Monica’s family restaurant. The first time I ordered it was out of convenience but after the great experience of not only the food but with Yogi and a speedy delivery service it made me want to try it again. From the nachos to look lasagna the steak sandwich I’ve tried so many items so far and I’m looking forward to trying out something tomorrow for supper as well. If you’re looking for great food at a great price that also comes with great service then make sure you order Local from Monica’s family restaurant thanks again to Yogi and their staff.

Eating after night shifts

It’s been a pleasure to eat here after night shifts. The food is affordable and well made, and the server Misty is a pleasure to talk to and very prompt at her job. Would recommend for anyone coming through and especially the early morning crowd

Some Meals Undercooked

This restaurant served a free hot breakfast if you stayed at the Stanford Inn & Suites. You got your choice of eggs, bacon or sausage or ham, hash browns, and toast. Some of the items in this breakfast tended to be a bit undercooked on certain days, depending on who the cook was. Overhard eggs were runny. Hash browns were mushy. One waitress was overly friendly.

Very good..... except.

My wife and I visited for breakfast. We were immediately seated and the menu arrived. We ordered the standard breakfast of bacon and eggs, replete with shredded hashbrowns. Twas then we were hit with the bad news. Shredded hashbrowns have been discontinued. Albeit it was a good breakfast, our patronage has been, likewise "discontinued!" Smittys continue shredded.

I'm am from BC and had to come to Grand Prairie for medical reasons and we stayed in the Stanford Inn. Monica's Family restaurant is the restaurant that is on the property. As soon as we walked in the door the server greeted us with a smile and let us pick our own seat. She was by our table instantly and was extremely friendly. As we've never been here before she made some suggestions of what was really good on the menu, and let me tell you that was one of the best breakfasts I had in a long time. It wasn't even 10 minutes and we had our order. We didn't even have our second bite in and she did a quality check. Our coffee cups were never empty and she made us feel so welcome. The young ladies name was Misty and if you ever get a chance plz plz head over there and let Misty treat you like family. I guarantee you will not be disappointed. Huge shout out to Misty 💙💜💙💜💙

I cannot remember the servers name, she was incredible. We walked in shortly after 2pm in which the dining room was supposed to be closed, there was one other table waiting for their food. The waitress told us normally we are closed however I have some tiding up to do so go ahead and order. She was so pleasant and made sure our coffee cups were filled. The meal was delicious and hot. Definitely would reccomend this establishment even for families.

A very nice restaurant affiliated with the Stanford Inn. Super convenient to walk 20 feet for dinner. Nice atmosphere and good music. Had tasty, authentic butter chicken on special. Everything cooked perfectly and full of flavour. Our server Yogi was very courteous and helpful. He went out of his way to make sure we were satisfied. The chili chicken was perfectly spiced and Yogi came to make sure it was right. They also offer breakfast coupons if your staying at the Inn and the breakfast again was great. Can't say enough good stuff. We will be eating here quite often during our stay! Thanks Yogi!

Complimentary breakfast with stay at Stanford

Breakfast was included in the stay at the Stanford Inn! YUMMY!!! Misy (the waitress) put on a fresh pot of coffee as we entered each morning. Her friendly smile gave us a positive start to the day.

Great supper

When staying in Grande Prairie I stop in at Monicas for supper. The waiter recommended the new special which was Butter Chicken (one of my favorites) I ordered and it came shortly, it was very good with rice and warn Naan bread. The portion was large and Yogi was very helpful and pleasant. I will be back when I'm in GP
