This restaurant was recommended to us by a friend. We had a terrible experience. First of all, when we sat down, they told us that they were short staffed. I understand this problem and I think it’s occurring at most restaurants. Our waiter was terrible....He was unfamiliar with the dishes and didn’t advise us properly. I had the salmon which was over cooked and dry. It was supposed to come with vegetables (per our waiter) but didn’t. They gave me a salad instead. No bread! I went home still hungry! My husband had the burger which he said had an odd flavor. Don’t go to this restaurant! There are a lot better in Jasper.More

Nice ambiance, the burger tasted good and staff was friendly and attentive. Service was quick, value for money was ok, maybe a bit expensive, but that goes for more restaurants in Jasper.

We visit that place for lunch on July 15 2022. We ordered 3 chickens parmesan from the menu. As the menu said the dish comes with a starch and vegetables of the day, we asked our waitress for the vegetable of the day and the...starch. She offered us salad that was fine for us, and two dishes with fries and one of them with fried sweet potatoes. The 3 plates came with salad and fried sweet potatoes. We were so hungry and short on time that we didn't complain about the mistake. We finish and we asked for the check and our surprise was the the waitress charged $C42.50 for the side dishes that supposed to be included in the price. I caught her attention and the waitress started arguing with me, so I told her to call a manager who never showed up. The food was no bad. I felt cheated and this situation made my day bitter. We tried this restaurant while staying in Jasper, and we weren’t disappointed. We met the owner, Soto, who was very friendly. Our waiter, Allie, did an excellent job. There were 4 of us who had some local draft beer as well as elk, bison, Alberta...beef and chicken Parmesan. We were all very happy with our meal and highly recommend this restaurant!More

Ate dinner here our first night in Jasper. Owner chatted with us for a good bit when we arrived. Staff was very friendly and courteous. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the food was delicious and well prepared. The only exception was my bison strip loin...had more gristle than I would have expected. Other than that it was tasty. We don't miss this Gem when we come to town and this last visit confirmed why we don't and that we will definitely be back! When calling to make a reservation it was kindly explained to us ahead that they are training lots of new...staff because they are finally open to regular operating hours post COVID. We really appreciated that so we knew to practice patience, but also to help them learn. And we did just that by ordering a variety of items on the menu. Our server did great, the cocktails and food were fantastic and it is just such a great atmosphere over all. My favorite was the mussels in the red sauce, and the Smashkatoon cocktail is the best! Lastly we want to give a huge shout out to the Manager Sodu. We were both really impressed how he took the time to check on each table and ask if we were satisfied or had any feedback. As someone who managed in the service industry for many years I can say this is what managers should be doing but I find it rarely happens these days and have no doubt it will benefit your business. He was also very patient with his new staff and doing a wicked job training them. Everyone was having fun and were on point. Best place to eat in Jasper. Some of us eat a plant based diet and the vegan entrées are made from scratch and are super-tasty. The drink menu is extensive with lots of local options. The setting is inviting. At the time there wasn’t a...vegan dessert.More

Came in for my husbands birthday with a group of 10 while in town for a wedding this weekend. It was their third day open and it did not disappoint. The food was amazing (especially the duck club), staff was phenomenal, and atmosphere fantastic. Highly...recommend.More

We love Downstream. The food and service are top notch. We originally approached them two years ago to ask if they'd consider hosting our wedding reception, because we love the venue, service and food. The original date was in May 2020, but when that became...impossible, they worked with us to move the event (twice!) and to change the plans for the evening (much more than twice!). In the end, we finally got to celebrate in Oct 2021 and it was worth the wait. Our guests raved about the food! We had incredible service. It was a fantastic night for everyone in their intimate space. Special thanks to Shawn for all of the work with us for the last two years. If you are lucky enough to have a meal at the Downstream, splurge! The Bison Ribs and Elk Sirloin are particularly amazing. One of our guests said "the best ribs she'd ever eaten".More
