We visited The View restaurant in July 2020 for lunch. The weather was hot, so it was great to be able to sit outside under the shade of the umbrella. While the menu is a bit limited and on the higher price point, I'm sure...everything on it is delicious. We had the burgers ($30), the kids had gnoochi from the children's menu, and it was honestly the best tasting burger I've had. The wait service was friendly and attentive, and the view of the mountains and the lake was breathtaking. The patio is two levels, surrounded by glass in order to preserve the view and break the wind. Tables were "distanced" and staff wore masks. Hand sanitizer was provided upon arrival. Overall, it was a delicious meal. I gave it only 4-stars simply because it was quite expensive with a limited menu. If you want to enjoy a delicious meal and don't mind paying a bit more, I totally recommend The View restaurant. If you're looking for something a little more casual, there is cafeteria style dining inside the main building, which also looked quite tasty and probably had more options for children.More

The weather wasn’t the best but ....Claude, Sara, and Matt made up for that in seconds!...personable, friendly, attentive, all while respecting all safety Concerns ( during Covid)...where to start? The table de hote menu at $44 cdn is such a deal!...from the warm bread, to...the great Caesar and wine bevy’s..we were happy . But my wife’s grilled polenta cake Appetizer and my salad with smoked salmon took things up a notch. Now add on two of the tastiest trout dinners ever and we were two happy folks. Then comes the perfect little desert tray each and a hot drink too. This will be a hidden gem we will advise everyone ( and you readers) to take in. Thanks to the gang at the view for a memorable meal, our interactions and your service....Bravo.More

We pre-booked lunch. Weather was good so we could sit at the gorgeous terrace with the view of Maligne Lake and mountains. Covid safe. Great service. Really good food. Nothing could have been better.

Location amazing. Staff not overly helpful. I asked for an umbrella to be put down as it was blocking the beautiful. She said she couldnt do that because the next people may want it up. There were many empty tables. We stayed for nearly 2...hours and no one sat at that table, nor were the plates cleaned from the table from the previous customers. Then the restaurant closed for the day about dinner time and no ever did sit at that table. The lady at the till of the cafeteria, who is from Edmonton, super personable and I enjoyed my discussion with her.More

Stopped in to grab a quick bite while on a hike with my family. The Alberta Beef and Vegetable Stew was delicious and just what I needed. Everyone was very friendly and helpful.

The view of the lake is stunning. The restaurant is positioned perfectly. We were there at lunch time and wanted some light refreshment after our walk by the lake. It is a serve yourself restaurant and we only looked at the light bite options and...coffee. There is a sign telling diners to wait to be seated but there were no staff present to do this. It had rained about an hour previously and yet we still had to dry our own table. The food was average and the price excessive.More

We dined at this restaurant following our canyon tour and, as it was all inclusive in our overall tour package, I am unable to comment on pricing. There was 40 people in our group and the booking, greeting and seating arrangements were handled in an...excellent fashion. The service was efficient and friendly and we had orders taken and drinks provided in very quick time. Whilst our meals were being prepared our tour guide gave an enlightening talk on the animals of that can be found in the immediate area. The meals themselves were of an excellent standard and we certainly didn't go hungry with what was on offer. Overall a very good dining experience and one that is recommended to othersMore

This place has definitely gone "up market" since our last visit. We just opted for coffee and pastries which were delicious. It was very busy when we visited as there were a lot of coach parties there.

There were three dining options available to us for lunch at Maligne Lake - one was a buffet style restaurant that cost $50 per person and required a reservation, another only served waffles, and the third, and the one that we chose, was The View,...a cafeteria style restaurant that specializes in prepackaged sandwiches, salads, baked goods, and soup. This was perfect for us since we just wanted to grab something quickly for lunch before our boat cruise on the lake. I had an egg salad sandwich on a croissant, and my husband had the roasted turkey and gouda sandwich; we were also able to try Canada's famous ketchup chips here, something we don't have in the States. The food hit the spot, and the setting was absolutely gorgeous, various decks with wooden tables that look out onto beautiful Maligne Lake. We were there on a wonderfully sunny day and loved that we were able to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the view while we ate. There's also indoor seating available if the weather isn't up to par. This is a good spot for those who just want to grab something on the run, and we would definitely come back again just for the convenience factor before a boat cruise or hiking. Lots of moose in this area, so you may just get lucky and spot one.More
