We stopped for a latte while on a tour. The lattes were good but the service was quite slow, resulting in holding up the tour. Would recommend leaving ample time for the barista to complete the drinks although it may have been that the person...was new/in training.More

Maligne Wilderness Kitchen no longer exists. Although the website still promotes itself as a smokehouse restaurant it is now a self serve cafe with coffee and cookies and such. NO HOT FOOD OR TABLE SERVICE!

The food here is always excellent and Travis always provides excellent service! The tomato soup was excellent and all four of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals.

I was really expecting a whole lot more. They do have a nice outside dining area. The inside dining room looked very nice. Our server was very nice. I thought the menu was rather pricey. The sandwiches were in the twenties and if you wanted...fries or a salad it was upcharge. I thought that was a little over the top. My salad had very little dressing so I had to ask for more. At this point in our trip we had eaten out quite a bit. Based on the reviews I was expecting to be blown away. I felt the food was underwhelming and not worth the price we paid. I really did not feel the value was there. We were disappointed we ate here.More

My wife and I stopped here on our way back from a Maligne Lake Cruise. The restaurant seems perched at the start of a number of hiking trails and the area is very crowded but we were able to find parking in an overflow lot....The restaurant was not as crowded and we easily found a table outside with a nice view of the river that runs by. Lunch here was tasty and reasonably priced. I had a smoked brisket sandwich and my wife had a Poutine. They had a nice selection of beers to choose from and overall the experience and the food were both very nice nice. I wouldn't hesitate to return or to recommend it to a friend.More

This restaurant is absolutely amazing. The food was so delicious (had the brisket sandwich with a side of mac and cheese) and the staff was extremely friendly. Fortunately we were able to get a table outside so we were able to enjoy the spectacular views...and the peaceful sound of running water from Maligne Canyon. I would recommend trying to get a table outisde if you can!! Definitely satisfied with the service, especially as one member of our party was not satisfied with the sauce in their sandwich and the restaurant remade the sandwich without sauce for no additional cost. Everyone enjoyed their time!More

My pulled pork had a nice mix of cheese, onions and a bruschetta like mixture to give it a unique taste that’s not the usual just pork with BBQ. My spouse had the lentil soup and it was excellent. It’s a small sample, but a...likely positive outcome for all the other selections on the menu. Gets crowded around noon. Outdoor seating available.More

We really enjoyed our lunch here after hiking up from the 5th bridge parking area. The timing is great for a 11:00am lunch reservation if you arrive at the parking area around 9:30am. This allows you to visit the area during a less crowded time....We made our reservation on their website and sat outside with the view of the water. Our family ordered smoked brisket sandwiches, pulled pork sandwiches and burgers. The food was very good. A great way to reward your group after the hike! After lunch we hiked back down the canyon and drove to Maligne Lake for our reserved boat tour. A fantastic day!More

If you're looking for a big meal after a hike then this is it. The food was good for lunch and had big servings (more than I needed). A good option if you're in the area. The dining room/area is right next to a rushing...river so a nice view.More

Maligne Canyon Wilderness Kitchen shares a parking lot with the trailheads for the Maligne Canyon Trail. The parking lot does get busy and full! We went for a morning hike of the canyon, and then wanted to have an early lunch. While the gift shop...there opens earlier, the restaurant does not open until promptly at 11:30. Our server, Orion was personable and helpful with suggestions. My husband had the chicken sandwich and I had the burger. We both ordered a salad as well. Both of the items were very tasty, albeit a bit on the pricy side for what they were ($25 for a burger). We had the pleasure of eating outside on the deck, and were reminded that the beauty of the wilderness kitchen was to put down your phone, enjoy the scenic views around you as well as the food! (No Wi-fi).More

Overall, it was a marvelous experience. Since food is one of the things everyone would consider to have a memorable holiday, I would say, this is my number 1 favorite and even if Jasper is far from Calgary, this made me wanting to come back....When we came, we were greeted and assisted by Elise who was so friendly and had profound knowledge of the menu. I was impressed by the presentation, excellent ambiance and most of all the mouth watering tastes of the food. We have to ask who made the meals as it was all well thought and designed and they all taste so good. Thanks to Emer and Hershey who made the scrumptious meal for us. Our visit with family became even more special.More
