This is the best meal I've had in the Hat since moving here - highly recommend. My husband had the burger and I had the black bean burger, and whipped feta - AMAZING.

Being lovers of ice cream and now all four of us in our 6th decade, it is becoming harder to be surprised by new places and tastes. Fortunately, we stumbled across Moose & Squirrel while traveling through Medicine Hat on our long Trans-Canada journey. The...ice cream shoppe is constructed from old shipping containers that have been completely transformed by the charming proprietors, Jay and Carrie Sand, and have been set in essentially a converted vacant space between two buildings on 2nd street. The walls of the buildings forming this cool little spot are covered in excellent "street art" and establish much of the funky character. Speaking of which, Jay is an ice cream artist. He has created delicious concoctions, which change based on the quality and availability of ingredients. If available, we highly recommend the Burgundy Cherry, Roly Poly and Shark Attack, though we are positive that all flavors, even humble Vanilla would be tasty.
