We ordered takeout - a combo plate with shrimp, rice, veggies, ginger beef and sweet and sour pork, and an order of mushroom chow mein. It was ready in 15 minutes and was fresh and absolutely delicious. The veggies were just crisp enough and the portions are generous! Some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had. Oh and the price was very reasonable!

This is my go to place for Chinese. The place is always spotless and service is impeccable. Portions are huge and the $10 lunch special gets me 1.5 meals. They have an extensive menu and Vietnamese food as well as Asian food. Their delivery service is I believe their own.

Due to Covid and being placed in a Long Term Care facility meant I haven't gone to ay restaurants for about 6 months. My daughter came in from out of town and took me and my walker out for dinner. When she asked where I wanted to go I said Lucky Family because the portions are huge and full of flavour. I was not disappointed. Service was excellent as was the food. I felt bad I couldn't take my leftovers as I would not have any way to heat them. I went with the intention of trying their Vietnamese menu but I went for Chinese again.

I read the reviews about Lucky's having not tried it before and wanted to support local. Based on great reviews, my husband and I ordered from there. What an absolute disappointment! The ginger beef was tough and fairly tasteless by comparison to other ginger beef we have had. The Szechuan pork came dry with no Szechuan sauce that we could taste. I had to make a honey garlic sauce to put on it just so we could eat it. The black bean shrimp was again fairly tasteless compared to what we have had before
All in all, a very disappointing meal. The only thing good I can say was the delivery service was quick and efficient..

We decided to try a new place to order out. We ordered the chicken fried rice, sweet and sour pork, beef and broccoli, and ginger chicken. Well not the best prices for the small servings. Every other Chinese restaurant in Red Deer give way bigger servings. The food was not greesy, but was very bland and sauceless.
We decided to try a new place to order out. So we decided to try this place. We heard only good things about this place. The broccoli was cooked ok, but where was the beef and the sauce? The pork and ginger chicken were over cooked, really hard to chew and barely any sauce. Then to top it off, the chicken fried rice had barely any chicken or even peas in it, no flavour except the pieces of string. Yes there were pieces of "STRING" in our rice!!! My children could of choked. I called the restaurant and complained, they wanted to run new food over but seriously we had no appetite any more. We will never order here again!! In my opinion, this place is very over priced for the serving sizes. The food is tasteless, sauceless and very bland. Also after the forien objects into our food,I also am concerned about the health/safety of the food preparation.

We got Cantonese chow mein takeout. We were disappointed as soon as we opened it up, very unappetizing, we ate a little bit, and we gave the dogs the rest. We wouldn't consider going back. We tried it because of the great reviews.

We thought that the food would taste the same as the neighbouring casino which had lucky’s lounge attached to it. My wife talked with the lady at the front and she reassured her that they were the people that cooked at the casino when the Danes owned it, well let me tell you not even close to the same taste or preparation. We had ginger beef and lemon chicken, don’t get me wrong it was still edible but not any where close to the same. More of a Royal Buffett quality. Will never go back again and will take out from the casino from now on.

The portions are huge and the food and service are incredible. I am a multi-time returning diner and it is a great wat to impress a new lady friend. I swear it is the best Ginger Beef in Alberta and I use takeout quite frequently with great delivery.

Lucky's used to be in Jackpot Casino but moved to this location about a year or two ago. Some people still think they are in the Casino and there are a few incorrect bad reviews on here that were intended for the new operator in the casino. They should be disregarded.
I ordered a dinner for two on Saturday and the food is incredible. Delivery was quick and food was really hot. I do believe in supporting local and I have never heard a negative comment about Lucky's.

It’s quite unfortunate that I have to write a bad review for this place. We were an avid fan and got to know the owners by going to their different restaurant over the years. For some reason my wife and I noticed a big change not only with the quality of food but also how the owners were today. They were quite busy tonight which was a good sign for their business but the daughter of the owner seem to have shown unprofessional attitude towards the staff and as well as the customer. Sad to say but we don’t think we will ever go back to this place again. Good luck to the owners and hope things gets better again just like it used to be.

I believe in supporting local businesses especially if they have really good food and service. Their portions are huge and I ordered a dinner for 2 and we got 7 portions of food. It was piping hot and they had touchless delivery and payment. Best Chinese in Red Deer. Period.

Every day they have a different special for $11. I got 3 meals out of my Chicken Chow Mein which was excellent. They have one Chinese and one CDN choice. Support this excellent local business. they have three types of food. Chinese, Asian and CDN.

Thought we would give this restaurant a try for delivery, after reading all the good reviews. We weren't disappointed! The best Chinese food that we have had in Red Deer, and we have tried almost all of them. Will definitely be ordering our take out from Lucky Family in the future!!

Went the other day and it is definitely the best Chinese food in Red Deer. Portions are huge so we did take some home. Service is unbeatable. They sure seem to do a lot of takeout. The pricing for the portion size is excellent.
