I picked up a takeaway last night for myself plus my wife and daughter. I chose the roast lamb for $35. The vegetables and roast potatoes were very good but the lamb was atrocious. I pulled out 26 separate pieces of bone from the meat....I have never in my life been given anything like this. We usually eat at the Greek Islands on Langdon in Abbotsford and this is by far my favorite meal. I am simply shocked that this could have been given to anyone. Such a shame as the venue and staff were very nice.More

The staff amazing and friendly. The food OMG the food, the Greek Fries and Greek Salad. Note to self replace the rice and potatoes with the fries! Even though the potatoes are really delicious-reminds me of Hangi. China White Liquid Dessert YUM! Please bring a...branch of this restaurant to Auckland, New Zealand.More

This place is our local go-to; always delicious food, great variety, and a fun/lively atmosphere. Ordered take-out tonight and they included an extra order of Greek fries, with a note that said “a little something extra from GI”! We so appreciate it and this is...the kind of thing, along with the aforementioned greatness, that keeps guests coming back. Try it and you’ll be hooked 😁More

Ah, the Greek Island Restaurant (#2)! When I lived in Chilliwack some twenty years ago, this establishment would be a regular “go to” for the family when they wanted a reasonably priced quality meal. I have many a fond memory of coming here, ordering the...saganaki, watching the show (flaming of the cheese), and hearing OPA! It was, indeed, good times in a fun environment. Much to my chagrin, after moving from the Valley, my visits to the Greek Island were very few and far between (in fact, up until now, I hadn’t dined at this location since 2002, and only ever dined at the Greek Island in Abbotsford – South Fraser Way location – once in 2011). Thus, when the opportunity arose to come here again, after nearly two decades, I jumped at the offer. It would doubtless be a wonderful dose of nostalgia and good eats! In any event, our party of 6 arrived in time for our 7:15PM reservation. The first thing I noticed? The Greek Island has obviously been updated and renovated since my last visit nearly 20 years ago – something hardly surprising given the lengthy time interval (and a quick Google search reveals that these renos are fairly new!). The revised look certainly elevates one’s experience at Greek Island while concomitantly playing nicely with the fun and casual vibe of place and space. We ordered a host of items from the menu. For appetizers: Dolmades, Saganaki (2 orders), Ouzo prawns, Greek Chicken Wings, and Scallops & Bacon. For our mains, we decided upon: Greek Ribs, Lasagne, Greek Platter for 2 and the Seafood Platter for 2. Without getting overly wordy, I will say that each and every one of the appetizers were tasty and met all expectations. The Dolmades and Chicken Wings, in particular, were a nice surprise. The saganaki, while good, came across flat in terms of the “show” aspect. The flame atop the cheese was a little sad and didn’t leave us yelling OPA! With respect to the main dishes, they were also very good. We especially enjoyed the accompanying Greek salad – the dressing is what makes this so noteworthy. It is slightly creamy, but the flavours do not overpower the vibrant veggies in the salad (you can also buy the house-made dressing if you feel so inclined). Our 2 share platters, which came with a bit of everything from the sea and Greece, respectively, left us full and hardly able to breathe! However, I do have one criticism – and it’s one that actually stands from my 2011 Abbotsford visit: The platters come with way too much rice. There’s easily enough rice to feed 4 or more people on this platter meant for 2. Maybe consider reducing the amount of rice? I think it would make the platters – Seafood and Greek – a lot more balanced. After our mountain of food, we did spare a little room for dessert. I ordered the Tiramisu while others tried the Cheesecake. I did not sample the cheesecake but, by all accounts, it was good. My tiramisu? Well, it was fine – certainly not the best I’ve had (the award there goes to Ithaka). I found the tiramisu here at Greek Island to be a little dry. Finally, a brief comment upon the service: Our server – I forget his name – was easily a big part of our successful meal. He was incredibly helpful in making suggestions and he even assisted my elderly grandfather towards the washroom. Very kind and he should be commended for that! FOOD: 4/5 SERVICE: 5/5 VALUE: 4/5 RECOMMENDATION: Well, after nearly 20 years away from the Chilliwack Greek Island (#2), I must say it was nice to be back. The atmosphere, service and food all came together in a wonderful way to make for a memorable meal. It is little wonder Greek Island has remained a popular place in the Fraser Valley for well over two decades. Highly recommended! After recently being provided a tip on where to get the best Greek food in the Fraser Valley, I decided to check out all the buzz and head on over to the Greek Islands Restaurant, Chilliwack BC It's important to note, The Greek Islands restaurant...is following and adhering to all provincial Covid-19 mandates, which includes masks and providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card (Digital/Card) prior to being seating. Entrance for my reservation was seamless and trouble free with no delays. I visited during the dinner time rush hour, and as busy as the service was, our waitress (Ashley) was absolutely impeccable and never skipped a beat. Ashley was present, tentative and had amazing knowledge of the menu which helped us decide on which menu items were signatures of what The Greek Islands restaurant were known for. Appies arrived first and in record time, and they did not disappoint the pallet one single bit. Greek Style chicken wings, Calamari (traditional) and scallops wrapped in bacon. As a matter of personal preference, I prefer my Calamari with heads on, and wished the menu had described what their version of Traditional Calamari was in a little bit more detail. However the ring style calamari served did not disappoint. Perfectly seasoned and lightly coated and deep fried, they were tender and juicy. The accompanying in-house made tzatziki sauce was amazing. Greek style chicken wings? Crisp, boiler baked, these wings didn't disappoint. The charing from broiler process definitely infused these bad boys with a smokey flavour you wouldn't come to expect. Great tweak! Bacon wrapped scallops? Also well made, but really lacking the Digby Sea Scallop (U10-20) size. These fell a little flat in the size department, but still scored high in the garlic butter bath they were served in. Bacon makes everything taste better. Price points for these appies were on point and certainly encouraged the dinner to explore the appy menu a little closer. The "pièce de ré·sis·tance"which is the classic signature to any Greek restaurant, is how well do they prepare their "Rack of Lamb"? Best served medium rare, The Greek Islands restaurant nailed it. There is no doubt, that the years of authentic and traditional Greek style cooking and recipes this family has in their arsenal, their rack of lamb is hands down going to have me returning time and time again. This prized dish had all the signature elements of perfectly prepared lamb with hints of garlic lemon, Greek oregano and olive oil drizzled perfectly all over. This was made fresh to order, cooked to perfection and left you rolling your eyes, sighing and begging for the next piece. The team preparing this dish knew exactly what they were doing and how delicate this cut of meat is and the attention it deserves. The owner, who I had the pleasure of meeting table side, demonstrated some old school traits, not commonly seen anymore in the restaurant industry, by visiting and introducing himself to patrons and dinners. This is a gentleman's tradition of mingling and connecting with clients. Seeking feedback, complementing dinners on choice of dishes, and rubbing elbows, Yanni is quite approachable and friendly and you can tell he loves his role. It's all part and parcel of providing a great dining experience. We also provided our appreciation to the entire back of house team, the chefs while during our chat, and just how awesome our server Ashley was. If Greek food is up your alley, this is the place you want to check out. You don't need to drive to the big city. You don't need to hop on a airplane. The Greek Islands restaurant is more than capable of feeding any mediterranean cravings you might be having. Here, in no specific order would be items on my menu wishlist: Souvlaki - made with fire grilled lamb, served in traditional pita wrap, drowned in in tzatziki, tomatoes and lettuce. I only saw beef & chicken Souvlaki on the menu, served with traditional sides, but not in a wrap. Calamari - Heads on. Service and wait times: Amazing Knowledgeable staff: Excellent Noise levels (peak times): Comfortable Food portions: Humongous portions/ Great value Freshness: Daily Returning client: Definitely Parking: Challenging Reservations: Recommended (Peak times) Chef SwanMore

So this was our first try at Greek Islands Restaurant in Chilliwack, but won’t be our last. They do not deliver but use Skip the Dishes. This was not a good experience. (No fault of the restaurant) We waited awhile for our food and after speaking...with the driver to tell him our exact location our food never arrived, despite the texts saying it was delivered. Having to call Skip myself to determine where our food was less than satisfactory. We were told that the driver couldn’t find us and our order was left at “some location” . We were offered a Skip credit rather than a refund . Needless to say I had to call back for a full refund. Again, thru no fault on the restaurant side. At this point I took it on myself to call the restaurant to explain the situation. I was quickly referred to the manager Effie who was a total pro! She took our concerns to heart immediately and went above and beyond to prepare our order right away. As previously mentioned they do not do their own delivery but had one of their servers Vince, personally deliver our food. Kudos to him. Friendly and quick. Everything was delicious from the salad to calamari fo the roast lamb. These people really care about their guests. We will definitely be back! Thanks A &JMore

I have been going to Greek Islands in Chilliwack for many years now, it has always been my families choice for birthday or special dinners. We ordered takeout tonight and were unfortunately disappointed in the quality of the food. Over seasoned chicken souvlaki that was...salty, beef souvlaki that was difficult to chew through, as well as no feta on the Greek salads. I’m not sure if with skip the dishes the kitchen is swamped, but the quality just wasn’t there for our meal this evening.More
