Located in the heart of downtown Chilliwack, Prestons is the ideal location for lunch, after-work drinks, dinner with family and friends, or brunch on our gorgeous pond-side patio. At Prestons Restaurant + Lounge we use local and seasonal ingredients to create a menu that is innovative and refreshing. Our goal is to bring you food from the farm to your table using fresh and locally grown ingredients in all of our recipes. Great food, reasonable prices

We stayed at the Coast hotel in Chilliwack for five nights, had six breakfasts at Prestons and three dinners. Every meal was excellent, tasty, well presented and reasonable priced. Waitresses all friendly and working under difficult civid times, did very well. The beet salad is the best I have had anywhere. Every time I think of it, can still taste it! Highly recommend. This restaurant. Hooe to be back when the sun is shining, so that we can enjoy the park and pind view with the patio doors open! Great job stagg❤️

Breakfast at Prestons in the Coast Chilliwack Hotel

I changed my mind about where to have breakfast this morning and ended up at Prestons Dining area in the Coast Chilliwack Hotel. I have been there before and was not impressed at all. This experience was completely different. Had the buffet breakfast and the food was good. The view is very nice overlooking the water. Maggie is very friendly and will make sure you enjoy your dining experience. Great start to my later morning.

We had supper and breakfast here. The supper menu was good. It is a shorter menu with good options. The drink menu was slightly disappointing for cider as it had no local ciders on the menu. Breakfast was either on the menu or buffet. We had the buffet and it was good as buffet goes. I did like that the restaurant opened at 630am for breakfast. Overall the experience was good and a great place to eat if you are staying at the hotel. We would eat here again.

The restaurant has a lovely view and decent coffee. We found the food to be very sub-par. The first morning I ordered a plain bagel toasted with cream cheese. I got an everything bagel (which I do not care for) barely warm, not even close to toasted. Unortunately we were in a hurry and I did not have time to send it back. The second morning my husband and I chose to split an order of Eggs Benedict. The holandaise had a skin on it so had obviously been sitting for a while. We has asked for soft poached eggs and got medium- hard. We were being picked up so once again did not have time to send it back but I don't think you should have to factor ordering your meal twice when planning your day.

Terrible experience

Terrible place. Gone down hill big time. Server showed us our table and started asking if we wanted waters before we were even seated. Asked for salads and soup to start but full orders showed up at once. Steak dinner was terrible, tasted like a reheated pre-packaged steak. Staff behaved very unprofessionally.

Friendly enough, but too slow

We are here a couple of times while we stayed at the hotel, the first time for dinner the food was really good. But very slow service. Considering there was literally only one other table in the whole place, we didn’t understand why it took so long for the girl to come back to us. The second time was for breakfast. My eggs were inedible, and my husbands food wasn’t good either. Again, one other table only that came in after, and we were never checked on so I couldn’t get my food remade. When the server finally came back, he didn’t offer to make new ones; but just took it off the bill… which I appreciated, but I left still really hungry… both friendly servers, just… not attentive whatsoever, especially since there was no other tables

Kitchen is poor

My family and I waited 35 minutes for our appetizers. There we two other small tables occupied. There was NO reason for our wait. The waiter was not very knowledge able about the food on the menu, though he was please try enough. I’ve worked in three kitchens In my life and eaten in many. Terrible timing in from the kitchen, we were all hungry and expressed this to the waiter. The kitchen was very very slow. Food was pricey but good. We were told on the phone brunch was served until 2, once seated ordering at 1:05, were told brunch was done at 1. We did not get our bill until 2:30. Not impressed I will not return.

Passing through Chilliwack we had a lovely stay at the Coast Hotel and ate breakfast here since the menu looked nice and it had decent reviews and it was right in the hotel. Having previewed the menu I was looking forward to the Mediterranean Omelette with oven roasted tomatoes, spinach, feta and mushrooms. But it was just an omelette with a little bit of filling. Kind of dry. I would have been happier with bacon and eggs. And a couple of other details that drive me crazy; deep fried potatoes for breakfast? So many places are too lazy to cut their own potatoes and make some pan fried breakfast potatoes. It’s basically like having French fries for breakfast. Disappointing. Hot sauce. I like some with my eggs. But any place that only has tobasco sauce is living in the dark ages. $14 for deep fried potatoes and a skimpy omelette ? I think you can do better. I will give it three circles because the view to the pond is nice. Service was ok. Room is nice. And judging by the menus it seems the chef here has the capabilty to elevate the breakfast a little. My husband enjoyed his bacon and eggs. But it still came with deep fried potatoes.

Hidden gem in downtown Chilliwack.

The kids have been here numerous times, this time I was finally able to join them. Came for dinner on a Sunday night and it was “please seat yourself”. The place wasn’t busy and was advised it’s always been quiet when they were here. That, and a pretty decent menu are what keeps them coming back. We had steak bites as an appy for the 4 of us. A decent amount each. Two had fish & chips, one a burger and the other a chicken Caesar salad. The portion sizes were decent, quality good and everyone enjoyed their dishes. If any complaints, the cole slaw with the fish was nothing to write home about. Service was good. Great view of the pond and fountain outside the hotel.

Front desk staff issues at the Coast Chilliwack Hotel by APA affecting Prestons customers

I went back to eat breakfast at Prestons today located in the Coast Chilliwack Hotel and had a completely different experience from the other day. When I walked in the front door of the Coast Chilliwack Hotel by APA the front desk clerk immediately informed me that I was not allowed to be here and she was calling the police. I said I do not understand why and continued on towards the entry to Prestons for breakfast. I sat at the table for some time until a waitress came out and I informed her that the front desk had some sort of issue with me being at Prestons for breakfast. The waitress said she would check with the front desk to see what is going on. She was at the front desk for some time and then returned but said she had things to do in the kitchen. I waited for some time and nobody came around so I got up and left Prestons. I am not sure what is going on at that hotel but the front desk staff seem to have an issue with me being at a public hotel which is the Coast Chilliwack Hotel by APA. It is a shame as I was looking forward to the breakfast buffet again this morning.

Stayed at the APA coast Hotel This is the location of where PRESTON'S EXISTS °•!! Bestest chefs, best staff, SO 😁 Our many meals here from 5 yrs ago, and my bad not sharing...well ...I guess was selfish...sigh...no!! anyway, bestest ever. Eggs benny, she chef, makes her own. Best Meatloaf, Omg, I guess night Chef..omg soooo, sooo bestest 💖staff so amazing our gal hollandaise... sorry, my gurl.and then dinner... Grandma's Meatloaf, with mashed and Yorkies.

Great place for dinner and drinks. I hear breakfast is good as well but never been here in morning. Food and service is consistently good. Had wings last and they were delicious!
