Nice light supper of pizza and some other offers. Friendly staff/ good service. Quaint farm location. Grow some of their own veggies. Above average for sure. Would go again.

Just randomly picked this Cafe to eat. Trying to support local. Pleasantly surprised. Casual atmosphere. You order your own food, pick your soft drink, or order a beverage. Staff is friendly, and I observed that the man at the front counter knew a vast majority...of customers by their first names. We ate inside, as the outdoor tables were full. The wood burning pizza oven is located at the front of the building, and the cook never stopped the entire time we were there. Food was super tasty. Menu is simple, but I knew that before coming. ( minimal choices ), which is not unexpected for a small Cafe. I have nothing bad to say about the Cafe at all. Would definitely recommend to all.More
This is my first five star review in a while! Burger and salad were so fresh and delicious, pizza was perfect; thin bubbly crust, tasty sauce. Beautiful venue. Only drawback is that there are really only two things on the menu- but two very delicious...things!More
A perfect place for lunch just outside of Duncan. There is lovely outdoor seating overlooking the farm and a beautiful vista of mountains. The food was so fresh and delicious and the staff were all welcoming and friendly. We ordered the large salad and split...2 pizzas between 3 people. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.More
We were so pleased to have found this wonderful place for dinner! The food was fresh and delicious and the service was so friendly and welcoming! Great way to end a day after riding the Cowichan Valley Trail.
This was an ideal lunch spot on our way from Nanaimo to Port Renfrew. We ordered the tomato soup, a salad and the spinach pizza. Delicious in a delightful setting.
This is hands down the best food experience that I have ever had in Duncan. A charming working country farm that turned one of its barns into a country cafe. A gaggle of galloping geese (running around the gardens) greet you as you enter the...cafe, along with fantastic views of the stunning river valley spread out before you. Danny was our host and warmly welcomed us inside and told us about the menu. Homemade pizzas from the outdoor pizza oven (by farm owners son Marley and fellow chef Ruby), farm fresh burgers, salads and soups and amazing desserts. We showed interest in a few items and Danny suggested a tasting menu, which was a deluxe pizza and burger/salad to share, including a cup of their excellent cream of mushroom soup. Everything tasted wonderful and was healthy, in that no fuss kind of way. The salad had an assortment of edible flowers, lettuce, herbs, dried fruits and veggies in a subtle but tasty vinaigrette. The burger was just superb…juicy and full of flavour. And as a mushroom soup aficionado, this was one of the best that I have had. We had their locally made sodas that each had not too sweet elderflower and blueberry pie flavours. We finished things off with an excellent chocolate cake for dessert. Staff were warm and fun…the atmosphere was relaxed and local. I will definitely be coming back here again very soon. Thanks Danny and Marley for the great time and food.More
Tucked away in the rural farmlands , this is a place to really enjoy nature while savouring the most delicious wood fired pizza and homemade soups or a generous mixed greens salad . We enjoyed our outdoor table which overlooked a meadow below . Definitely...going back !More
This gem is special. I love that there is a casual, relaxed atmosphere for such an exceptional place. The food rivals all my favourite spots back in the big city but without being pretentious, but with all the knowledge and enthusiasm of good food. The...food is fresh, creative, healthy and thoughtful with ingredients consciously sourced directly from their biodynamic farm and other local farmers (the foraged stinging nettle pesto and wild chanterelle pesto were delicious spring additions to their already delicious wood-fired pizzas). They carry a wide variety of local wines, ciders, beers and non-alcoholic drinks, also! Alderlea Farm & Café is warm, charming, child-friendly and dog-friendly. I highly recommend enjoying a drink and some food on their new, expanded patio overlooking their cows in the pasture (the runner ducks may even come say hello!) *****More
Our first visit of the season (the Cafe reopened April 1st) for Sunday woodfired pizza night, with friends was long-awaited. We called ahead for a table inside as it had SNOWED in the morning so our usual al fresco dining experience would have to wait...until, hopefully, next visit. It is some rare thing to be greeted by name, and with such warmth each and every time I have come to Alderlea Farm and Cafe. The food arrived quickly, and the pizza was HUGE and delicious. Best pizza crust! A bottle of local Averill Creek Prevost made a great pairing. A stop at the Cafe on our way to/from Victoria is always a good idea!More
Very casual place that you can only reach via your own transportation. In the countryside and definitely on a farm. Warm greeting by the staff and very informal. Many locals are greeted as well over the course of our meal. We ordered two pizzas, a...piece of chocolate cake and a pilsner from the tap. The host ensured we could find a table inside. Our thin-crust pizzas were very good and the chocolate cake was to die for. We could see why this place is highly rated. Parking is found just beside the cafe and they have inside and outside dining.More
We've been a couple of times. Once just for cake and coffee on the patio (during covid) and again with a larger group of friends for some of their excellent pizza.
What a wonderful lunch! I shared a burger and pizza with my son and we loved it! What a beautiful vista! We will come back every time we are here!
We absolutely loved the food. A warm, friendly vibe with excellent service. The dairy free and gluten free pizza can't be beat.
Beautiful location. An oasis just outside the city. Burger and pizza were exceptional. Chowder was thin but tasty. Desserts looked lovely too but we were too full. Staff were personable. Glad we made the drive.
