I am really torn about this place. We tried to eat here in October, on our first visit to Fort Langley. It was always so busy, that we went elsewhere. So in December, when we were back in Fort Langley, we were determined to try this place out. We arrived in Fort Langley in the afternoon, around 2:00, and thought... More

Great lattes, frappes, and lunch. My only downside about this adorable quaint place is that it's always so busy!

Came here for breakfast on dreary winter morning. Had the avacado eggs benedict, and she had the egg burrito. Coffee was great, and breakfast was hot and had a nice flavour. Had a fantastic 3hr walk to wear off the hollandaise souce!!! Very busy spot for good reason, and delicious breakfast. Looked like the baked goods would be good too... More

The chicken soup today was bland and boring and barely hot. I cleared off the table myself, as it was not cleared quickly and there was no where else to sit. Staff were not friendly or gracious; mostly gave the impression they were disinterested in being there. Finding parking is always a problem.

I had been to Wendel's many times and really enjoyed their pastries and coffee. Just recently had a chicken club burger and it was delicious! Generous amounts of chicken, avocado and bacon on a pretzel bun with a very nice salad. I think it was about $15 which sounds expensive but quality and quantity were definitely there so didn't mind... More

I will start by saying I had a very yummy caramel latte here....we had dinner one night which was pretty good and then the next night we decided on macaroni take-out.....we couldn't believe on what a small amount it was....shocking for the price.....very dissapointed....all hype.

I have frequented this place many times. They have great everything...from salads to salmon burger to soups and wraps and awesome desserts! Everything is ALWAYS fresh! I have never had a bad meal in all the times I have been. The downfall....tiny seating area. There is an outside area but if the weather is cold and damp, not so pleasant,... More

We love meeting at Wendell's for coffee, snack or lunch. The coveted small table at the front window is always a favourite. You are in the dining area but really so close to the books it feels like a secret corner. The selection is amazing with delicious choices and daily specials. The baked goods are luscious and eating from every... More

A cozy corner cafe in the quaint village of Fort Langley (very reminiscent of Victoria, like Cook Street or Oak Bay). I especially enjoy the portobello burger. Soups are homemade and delicious. Small space with combined bookstore. Almost always busy. Very tight layout. Tip: score a seat at one of few tables or outside covered porch then line up for... More

Description
Wendel's nourishes hungry minds and bodies as an independent bookstore and fresh-food café. The café lavishes readers with a menu of fresh fare made in-house that eschews preservatives and accommodates dietary needs with wheat-free, dairy-free, and vegetarian options. An outdoor patio puts patrons in prime reading, people-watching, or espionage-conducting position to enjoy local scenery along with breakfast selections such as organic blueberry pancake and omelettes. Lunch and dinner selections span hand-held bites such as the chicken-and-avocado wrap and heartier dishes such as wild-salmon-and-asparagus salad. Coffee and espresso creations range from lattes and cappuccinos to mocha frappes and are brewed with beans from local roaster Moja Coffee and water from the local fountain of youth.
