Went to eat at kaya on sunday night and the service was one of the quickest ive experienced. Menu has a wide selection of stuff and everything we tried was good. Normally im skeptic of places that have sushi and grill in the name but they really did both quite well. So we decided to go back monday night. Give them a try!

We dropped in for a late lunch, early dinner here this afternoon. Surprised how busy it was for a Monday.
The house sake was uniquely different but do tasty. Very floral. And we'll have it again next time.
We ordered a few items from the kitchen and two specialty rolls from the sushi bar. All items were far better than we expected for a small Japanese restaurant. Tempura assortment was really the best we've had. The sauces for three other items will extremely flavorful. The two rolls were fantastic. Very different but worth trying something outside your comfort zone.
We'll definitely drive the 90 minutes just to enjoy this gem. Thank you so much to Gwen and the waiter in training, Uros. He's already professional and personable.

we had takeout for a dragon roll , a spicy tuna roll, and chicken yakisoba on july 25th and it was almost inedible. my wife wouldn't eat any of it. the ingredients like the tuna were not fresh and it was poorly prepared like they smothered the spicy tuna in way too much sauce, probably to mask the flavor of the bad tuna. even the chicken yakisoba was not tasty and it was not prepared with love and care , it was just thrown together. we have been going to kaya for years and have done takeout 6-8 times.
we will not be going back. i phoned to let them know and was blown off.

We were ignored for the better part of the lunch meal; so we felt the service was poor. The meal was greasy, and I only had 3 tiny pieces of chicken teriyaki in the lunch meal; the rice was old and stiff, the sunomono salad tasted stale...and the whole meal tasted like it had been reheated from the day before...even the tempura was greasy and did not taste fresh. My husband
s meal was the same; his dish floated in grease. I will not ever go there again. I love Japanese food, and we have many restaurants that have this fare...by far this was the worst. Maybe they thought we were not locals!

Our first visit and the last we went for takeout. Food arrived in good time but when we sat down to eat when arrived home it was horrible. Gyoza very greasy, dip was terrible and not enough to put in your eye. Teriyaki chicken tasteless and the platter of vegetable tempura was plenty but the dipping sauce was less than adequate quantity wise and tasteless!

This is hands down the best Japanese restaurant in the Okanagan valley. Absolutely everything was delicious and made to perfection the restaurant ambience is very cosy and romantic. Highly recommend!

What an incredible chef they have at Kaya Sushi and Grill. I found the food to be wonderful, fresh and delicious. It is near the airport so that is handy. I highly recommend Kaya Sushi. Arlette

We had tried to go to this place 3 different times. First time they wouldn’t let us in because we had no reservation, the place was 2/3 EMPTY. Second time we went on a Thursday @ 6:00 only to find them closed even though the sign of operations said they were open. Third time I ordered takeout using their on line menu. It took 3 calls just to get the phone picked up. I placed my order and she said my total was $68.55! I said that can’t be right as the total I got was $52.00. She then had the audacity to tell me that the prices on line were old prices, they needed to update their site and my total indeed was $68.55. Needless to say, I cancelled the order and went elsewhere. Disappointing to be sure

We left & not finishing our ordered food as most items were not fresh and poorly prepared. The raw fish in the various rolls not fresh and tasting fishy.

We came here the evening before our trip. We were staying at the Hampton Inn. It was very busy, but our server was so efficient. Even for a parked restaurant our food came super fast. We will be back.

So our go-to for sushi in Kelowna has always been oka, however, kaya might have just taken that over! The selection of sushi and other dishes was awesome as was a beer menu with more than 1 beer! Finally!! We loved it from the miso to the prawn rolls to the beers and ciders! The flavors, colors and textures of the plates were incredible!! The restaurant is clean, service was excellent, and location was close to the airport and highway (on the way home for us)! We will definitely go back!! (I can’t wait to go back!) oh and pricing was very reasonable!
