We dined here to celebrate my 18th. I must say, the experience was fantastic. The staff were amicable from the moment we walked in and went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied. The food was stellar; I had the Carré d’Agneau and it was quite possibly the best meal I've ever eaten. When we ordered dessert, it came on a chalkboard with a birthday message on it, a great touch. I highly recommend you to dine here for any occasion, or even if there is no occasion, it is simply a beautiful experience.

This dinner was $250 for two people and worth every penny. We had oysters, two specials, a cocktail (which was the only 'meh' item) and two glasses of Bordeaux (can't remember which ones, but incredible). Amazing flavours, great service. Definitely the most unique eating experience in Kelowna and one of the few places that I would say you get value for what you pay for.
Their creme burly is to die for!!

I really think we just had, for me, the best dinner ever. The service was prompt, courteous and informative. Camille has one been in country for four months. She's definitely been trained by professionals. Stephan, the owner and host was a joy to talk with. I had the steak tartare and my wife had the French Onion soup. Both will stay in my memories for years. The rack of lamb was a perfect medium rare and so tender. The Bouillabaisse was how it should taste. The seafood was plentful and all correctly prepared. The Profiteroles for dessert were a great ended to the meal.
This restaurant is a must visit when in Kelowna. A wonderful place for couples or a great place to impress guests or clients.

We have always eaten at Bouchons whilst visiting Kelowna, and had a first class experience every time in the past. This is the first time with the new owners and never again. The server was arrogant and incompetent. The meals were badly prepared, had poor quality ingredients which were tasteless and overpriced. Although the owner apologized for the quality of the food saying it was a problem to find kitchen staff, the server took off his mask and barred our exit to demand a better tip. Simply astonishing. Avoid this place.

This was our first visit to this restaurant. We had resisted going as this type of food is not really our thing. However, a lot of people had said it was excellent so we decided to give it a try. The food was boring (just not exciting/interesting), and the portions were so small that we had to order a side of french fries to add to our meal. Lots of people love this place so maybe we just ordered the wrong things.

Pretentious and over priced. I had the Cassoulet which was not nearly what it should be. The beans were undercooked navy beans and the pork belly was room temperature, the sausage was overcooked and tough. The duck leg was cooked properly but overall it was a dinner not to be remembered except for the exorbitant price for the ‘ house special’.
I have had the pleasure of having cassoulet often in France and I can tell you, this was, in no way near the real thing.
I had the oysters as an appetizer and they were cool ,almost room temperature, with a total absence of ice on the plate. Shameful.
Our friend had escargot, which in every place I have been to offers bread for absorbing the butter/ garlic juice. Not here, you had to ask for it.
The only thing that was received at our table that was praiseworthy was the filet mignon. Evidently it was great.
With a couple of glasses of wine and a few beers the bill was incredible for the poor quality.

So first off, this was supposed to be a early Valentines dinner since i'm not in town that week and it didn't go as well as expected. We walked the short distance from the hotel as it was snowing and it put us into a romantic mood(check). Being our first time at Bouchons we were nicely surprised by the lovely decor and the warm greetings from the staff(check). The place was maybe a quarter full, so we were sat quickly with menus and water(tap or bottled)(check). When discussing the food choices with our server, i mentioned my food allergy(carrots and celery) and we decided that boiled sauces would be okay as long as there were no whole pieces in it(check). Discussed wine, glass or bottle, got the bottle of a nice white(check). Our appetizers were brought out in a reasonable amount of time(check). My Onion soup was delicious and my wifes Oysters were full of crunchy bits(either sand or shell) EVERY one of them! I could hear her crunching them. So 50% so far. As we were waiting for dinner I started to react to the Onion soup and I needed some Hot water to help ease the reaction which was brought fast. So no more wine for me and we ended up leaving a half of the $50 bottle. The mains arrived, Scallops and Prawns for my wife and Surf and Turf for me. My wifes scallops were cooked just about perfect, soft and buttery but again had something crunchy in them. The prawns were cooked well. She had little baby potatoes on her plate and when I say that, I mean ONE, cut in half. Okay I'm not there for the vegtables but the one one half was mostly rotten(black). My meal was steak, scallops and prawns($60) with a rare steak. Prawns were good, scallops were also buttery and soft(no crunch). The steak was also very tender as I had my first bite, it was as I cut the steak in half that I discovered that it was almost meduim with barely any pink. I told the server that it was over cooked so she asked me if it was just the tip that was medium so I showed her the middle and she agreed that yes it was medium not rare and would I like another one. Normally I would get another one but at this point with my allergy and my wifes meal not very good IT was, lets get this done and over. Oh, my other half of potatoe was also half rotten as well. So we figured that they saw one potatoe was rotten but they would save it by giving half to each one of us. The only reason that I tipped at all, the flavours were marvelous but the food overall not great. This was not worth $224 for what we got and since my wifes meal was the worst of the two, I let her decide on the stars. We should have gone to the Oak and Cru like I mentioned in my review of the Cactus Club.

We at at Bouchons with friends and it was very disappointing. It used to be our favorite restaurant in Kelowna. We had a waiter that had just moved from France 6 months ago and he had a major attitude problem. I almost got the impression that it was because I'm Chinese. We all ordered our meals - 2 rack of lamb, 1 filet and I ordered the prix fixe menu. They always used to provide complimentary fries with their meals but now they charge extra. You would think that with the prices they charge they could continue to provide complimentary French fries. It is a minor expense after all. When he repeated everyone's orders back to them including the salad I said to him "I have pate coming as part of my prix fixe menu". He brought everyone's salad but didn't bring my pate. Everyone waited for a few minutes and I told them to go ahead and eat. After another 10 minutes my husband went to check and see what had happened to my appetizer. The waiter said he had to be sure he plated it correctly. We ordered a bottle of wine and he asked my husband if he wanted to taste it and when my husband said yes, he poured a bit in his glass, let him taste it and then put the wine bottle down and walked away. He did not pour even our first glass of wine. Our friend asked him where he was from and when he said he was from France our friend talked to him for a while. The service from him continued to be very poor for the whole meal. The food was good but unfortunately the service we received really put a damper on the evening. Unfortunately my husband paid the bill and left his usual tip while I was in the restroom otherwise I would have told him to tip according to the service we got. Our waiter was also training a new waiter. I hope the new waiter does' have his attitude. I always believe that you tip according to the service that you receive.
We’ve always gone to Bouchons when we are in Kelowna but after our last experience I’m not so anxious to return. For the prices charged we expect way beter.

BouchonsBistro
Hello,
-Your last comment on Bouchons dates from June 15, 2014. At the time the menu was $ 42, we are in 2020 is taken 49.95 for two years now.
- As you know we are in Covid 19 period and Interieur Health is asked not to serve wine to wine and to let customers serve themselves.
- Concerning the fries which are not industrial, they cost less month than at MC ... thus the people eat them and they do not go any more thrown in the trash, that is called to consume intelligently.
- The server may not have been up to your expectations, that is to say flattering. He was simply professional.
- Finally it is unacceptable on your part to imply that my server would be racist, no doubt you are.

We visited last night (27th) and were generally disappointed. Service was good though the server placed the plate wrongly and took away a table knife that was required for vegetables, instead I used the fish knife to cut. The Sable fish was prepared well but the rest of the plate ordinary including a questionable serving of tapinade which was completely overpowering. Onion soup was leaning towards bland and the salmon appetizer though generous was not flavourful.
Pricing is too high. This restaurant is running on pretention and past successes, definitely not as good as it used to be.

A Fantastic dinner out...Such a delight. Great service by our server Nicole. She was so attentive, informative about the specials for the evening, which I indulged in, being the fresh oysters from PEI. We enjoyed a bottle of French Gewurztraminer Pfaff, then escargots, scallops and prawns ending with their assiette cheese plate and port taster to cap off the evening. A splendid and most enjoyable evening. Kudos to the chef and Nicole for the great evening. Salute.

Nice to see the staff and ambience at Bouchons return with restrictions opening up. Had another excellent meal at the restaurant this past Saturday. Rack of lamb and prawn scallop dish was done to perfection and the oysters appy paired nicely to the wine the server suggested.

This restaurant tries to look upscale, which based on the reviews suggests they have succeeded fooling many, but it may be that we were just there on an off night. The filet mignon was technically prepared well and the rabbit was ok but dry and nothing special. The sauces for both mains seemed to be something sourced from a premixed bin at Bulk Barn, which if one thing a French restaurant should be known for is their sauces. With that being said, the food was at least better than what you would get from a typical chain restaurant. The most disappointing part of the evening was that our server was the worst and most awkward server we have ever experienced. It seems like he was just hired for his French accent (more lipstick) rather than having any real serving experience. He would just walk up to the table and stare at us instead of asking normal questions like do you want a drink, how is your meal, or even in my case a simple, Happy Birthday that was flagged on the booking. I guess he did say “congratulations” when we left, which was at least good for another “that was awkward” moment. To be fair, if the service was good than the meal being a bit sub-standard would have still made for a decent evening, however poor service and long kitchen times combined with an bland product made this experience an extremely disappointing one.

Very disappointed is the word we would use to describe Bouchons. The food was over-priced, mediocre, and bland; nothing to write home about. We could not believe the restaurant charged for bread; this is just plain nickel-and-diming. The restaurant was very warm and uncomfortable. The waiter failed to check in with us after we received our food and forgot to bring our water. I asked for fleur de sel and the waiter brought some other salt. How can a French restaurant not have fleur de sel? The restaurant failed to deliver in every way. The bill for the two of us not including alcohol was $185.00. There are a lot of other restaurants where the food, service, and prices are much better. Save your money and go elsewhere. We do not know how they got a 4.5 star review! This was our first and last time going to Bouchons.

We have visited this restaurant a few times over the years and always look forward to it when we come to Kelowna.
I noticed that there have been a few bad reviews in recent months - whaaat?
Do not listen, and do not be deterred from visiting and giving this place a try.
My husband and I love everything about the place. Such a charming and cozy decor and atmosphere, excellent service, lovely owners and chef, and such delicious food.
We shared a half litre of local wine which was fine. I had the house made salmon gravalax, duck confit (my favorite!), and my husband had the chef special - a carrot veloute, cod with mornay sauce, and a really amazing creme rule for dessert. All of it was delicious.
It was so nice that the owners brought our coats and chatted for a couple of minutes before we left, leaving us with a warm feeling in our hearts as well as our bellies.
Already looking forward to our next visit! Do yourself a favor and visit too :)
