Inviting ambiance. I have Celiac Disease so was looking for Gluten Free options. Found a few nice choices. My wife and I enjoyed our dinner and because it was our anniversary they gave us free dessert. The Sorbet was excellent!!! We will be returning.

We stopped in for an early dinner at 5:30 p.m. on Sept. 12th. This was our last Kelowna dinner, of a four day stay and definitely the best! Service was excellent and the food was tasty and well presented. My selection was the ahi tuna...and it was perfectly cooked. The atmosphere was quiet enough for conversation and the seats and tables were roomy. We will definitely stop in on our next Kelowna visit!More

Food was very good and beautiful presentation. We tried the 3 course dinner, which was great value including soup or salad, choice of main, and dessert.. Patio was very cute to sit on. Service was so/so. The entrance is a bit difficult to see but...found it!More

First they have a ton of vegetarian options and spirit free cocktails which were sooo tasty!! We had the soup of the day and we were so happy with it! It was delicious! Then we had the gnocchi with tomato sauce and it was soooo...pillowy soft we couldn’t stop eating it! Then we had the arugula beet salad that’s just drool worthy!! Our server Cormick ( not sure of the spelling) was amazing and very informative, awesome personality to boot! And topped it all off with vanilla crème brûlée. We will be back numerous times before we leave!More

Erika, our server, made our dining experience very memorable. Our pork tenderloin and risotto were both delicious, but what we will remember are our conversations with Erika. She has the professional skill of making her guests feel welcome and important. She was efficient and always...checked back with us in a timely manner, no matter how busy the dining room became. Thank you, Erika, and Basil and Mint, for a wonderful dining experience!More

I am giving them a 1/5 as the service was horrible. We went to basil and mint for a late dinner. The host seated us with water and menus and we waited. The staff then ignored us - even though we were quite talkative and...there is no way they didn’t notice us. We all tried to catch the eyes of the servers with no success. There weren’t busy at all - only about 5 other tables. We also witnessed a staff member wandering around drinking from a metal milkshake cup. We got up and walked out and they didn’t even ask why we were leaving. I guess they didn’t want our money.More

We were looking for a decent restaurant for dinner that was reasonably priced. We looked at reviews online for Basil & Mint and checked the menu. They had a good variety of items on the menu and the reviews for the most part were positive...so we decided to try it. We put ourselves on a waitlist for 6:30 but the restaurant called and asked if we could make it for dinner at 6:15. It is hard to see their sign from Lakeshore Rd. and we had to call the restaurant to ask where they were. We ended up paying for street parking not realizing that they had parking available underground as well as across the street. The room is lovely. It is comfortable yet cozy and intimate with subdued lighting. Soft music was also playing. It is great for a nice relaxing intimate dinner. Our server Scott was also working the bar. He took such good care of us during the evening and has a true feel for good customer service. The wine prices are reasonable and we ordered a bottle of Road 13 Honest John’s merlot. They have a lovely 3 course menu option for $40.00 that is very good value. My husband decided to have the 3 course dinner. We shared an order of escargot with sundried tomatoes, chipotle and garlic. It was delicious and the garlic bread it was served with was without a doubt one of the best garlic breads that I’ve had. On the 3 course menu, my husband had a lovely curried cauliflower soup. Scott gave us 2 spoons so that we could share. It was a lovely soup with just enough heat and spice to make it interesting but not over powering. For entrees my husband had a roast pork tenderloin with an apple cider sauce and I had the special – lamb shank in a red wine sauce. We asked to substitute French fries (they were wonderfully cooked – nice and crispy). Both of our entrees were delicious. I hardly needed a knife to cut my lamb shank and it was so moist and flavourful. Because he forgot to mention that we wanted to substitute fries for the mashed potatoes (an oversight that was quickly fixed) Scott said that he would comp dessert for me so that we could both have a dessert that we wanted. My husband had apple cinnamon sorbet with berries and I had crème brulee. Both desserts were wonderful. The sorbet was one of the nicest sorbets that we’ve tried. We were told that the chef is also the owner of the restaurant. The food is truly exceptional. Basil and Mint far exceeded our expectations for the evening. We had an exceptional meal in a restaurant with great ambiance, wonderful food and server who is very focused to good customer service and the prices are reasonable. This could become a regular stop on future trips to KelownaMore

We were looking for a restaurant close to our hotel & found Basil & Mint came highly recommended. We could see the welcoming flame torches at the front door and were very pleased to see a sleek & modern interior. We dined in the lounge...& were impressed by the large menu which uncluded many favorites. The pasta was perfect and the sablefish was the best I have had to date. My italian husband loved his pasta appy & risotto main. Our server was excellent & very knowledgable of the menu & how dishes were prepared. We will be back the next time we are in Kelowna!More

The restaurant decor is contemporary and beautiful. There is a spacious dining area and a separate bar area. We had a terrific meal. I had the ahi tuna special which was cooked perfectly. The risotto was amazing. The chef and team know what they are...doing. We enjoyed cocktails and some house infused lemon-cellos. Service was attentive and super friendly. Can’t wait to go back.More

We returned to Basil and Mint and had a most enjoyable dinner with outstanding service. The appetizers, Caesar Salad and homemade Gnocchi were delicious and just the right portion size. The dinner special Roast Rack of Lamb was possibly the best I have ever tasted...and the New York Strip with Peppercorn Sauce was grilled to perfection. What made the evening though was the attentive service.More

I reserved online for a belated Valentine’s night out with my hubby. When we arrived, they had our table all ready for us and our service was impeccable from start to finish! The ambience was lovely and background music was at a perfect volume for...having an intimate conversation. The drinks and food were served with excellent timing and servers were excellent with checking us with every course to make sure everything was to our liking. We tried the new Green Tea Martini and it was delicious! I had the 3 course dinner and everything tasted awesome! Hubby had the mushroom risotto and loved ever bite! For dessert we got a special limoncello and felt very spoiled. The staff went above and beyond to make this a beautiful night out! I definitely recommend to check out Basil and Mint for a lovely night out:))More

3 of us had a variety of starters, mains, and desserts and they were all prepared very well. Service was very good drinks were nice, clean location, and all ticket times under ten minutes. They did hav a misfire with the veg for our mains,...as they forgot to fire them? So our mains came out missing the veg, then 5 minutes goes by and the veg comes out in a bowl family style for us to take what we like. Just a misstep and knocked it down to a 4. Otherwise everything went very well, and we all highly recommend. Look forward to our next visit. Pictures posted.More

Without a question the food is outstanding, perhaps the best in Kelowna. The service not so much. We arrived a few minutes early for our 7:00 pm reservation. We were seated immediately and our pleasant waitress took our cocktail orders right away. We enjoyed the...atmosphere and each other’s company. 15 minutes later we placed our order, appetizers and main courses. Waitress assured us our drinks would be served in a matter of minutes. A half an hour after being seated we still had not received our cocktails (Martinis for all) I finally decided it was time to walk to the bar to see what was happening. There was no bartender behind the bar. he was chatting with someone in the bar. I went back to our seats and waited 10 more minutes but the drinks did not arrive and our waitress apologized and said she would comp our deserts (two of us had ordered the Table d’Hote menu that included desert). I had enough and walked to the front desk and asked for the manager. 45 minutes after arriving the manager arrived and offered to comp our drinks. I explained to her that it wears not about that, why did she not know there was a serious service problem. her response “He must have been called away for a few minutes” (45 minutes???). As we were speaking our appetizers, our cocktails and our bottle of wine arrived all at the same time. This is just not acceptable;e for a restaurant of this caliber. Our waitress told us we should have ordered wine instead of cocktails as she could control that! Our waitress tried to make the best of a difficult d situation for her and for us, however management needs to step up to the plate. Yes our meals were fantastic and I would love o return but when restaurants charge premium prices the overall experience needs to be top notch, not just what the kitchen produces.More
