Unbelievably great service. Took my 98 year old Mom for her birthday. Four of us had dinner. When I made the reservation online, I indicated my Mom and her elderly friend were looking forward to enjoying the 6 oz tenderloin steaks that were on the online menu. When we were seated, Steven (our delightful server) thanked us for the heads up and told us that although those steaks are no longer on the menu, they had made sure to have them for us. Not many restaurants would go to that length. My husband and I had the Sablefish which was their special. Everything was cooked to perfection. Everyone made a fuss over my Mom and the manager came over to give her good wishes. Steven was charming and looked after us superbly. The tiramisu was lovely too. Highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or just because! Will definitely return.

We had a private room here to celebrate a friend’s birthday. The menu was set ( with three selections for Entree ) . The service was handled entirely by one waiter for the 13 of us, and he did a great job keeping up with the drink and food needs of all of us.
I ordered the filet and it was truly a wonderful steak, perfectly cooked and tender.
Everyone there left feeling that they had been served a great meal and the experience was very well received by all.

What a wonderful restaurant! We had the $45 three course meal and it is probably the best three course meal you can get for the money. My wife and I shared each others starter soup and salad and really enjoyed both. Our main course included a Mushroom Riosotto and Chicken Supreme- both excellent. Our kids loved the Grilled Cheese, and Spaghetti and Meatballs.
We topped it off with the Limoncello Cheese Cake ( a secret dessert our server Stevie told us about) and Tiramisu with a delicious cappuccino on the side. Such a great meal for us and our kids! Our server, Stevie, made it a special experience and we are grateful.

Positive: Nice location. Friendly service.
Negative: Food is definitely overpriced and underwhelming. Started with a pear salad which was served with a hand piled mount of arugula salad surrounded by what tasted like canned pears and some kind of a thick sweet sauce. I should have cancelled my main dish right then. But thought they just missed the point. Then came the rack of lamb. The lamb was perfectly cooked but they could have cut off each of the ribs. The whole thing was placed on top of a mound of dry mashed potatoes (they must have been sitting in a pot for some time) and a pool of 1/2" thick sauce that coated your tongue leaving you with a taste that you just want to get rid of. When I was done I felt bloated rather than satisfied. When I got the bill the glass of local Pinot Noir was $22. and the rack was a surprising $60 which was an insulting amount of money pay for something so poorly prepared. When I asked for the bill I had to wait for 15 minutes before someone finally brought it even though the manager seemed to just be standing around looking at his phone. Might not come back again.

We went here for their tasting menu which allowed us to have some really good food for affordable prices. But we were also able to order off the a La carte menu as well which is how I also got to try some tasty escargot. Nice size dining room and good waitstaff

We went out for the Dine-Around and were extremely happy with the meal choices. Two of us had the short ribs, another the duck and I had the awesome seafood risotto. The risotto had lots of shrimp & scallops, cooked to perfection in my opinion. I had the Caesar salad that had the most flavorful Fraser Valley smoked bacon on it. The others had Potato Bacon soup which my husband says was amazing. If you like chocolate, make sure you have the Chocolate Pate or of course Basil & Mint's famous all homemade Tiramisu. Service was spot on and one thing about this restaurant it is not loud, background music at a very nice low level so we could have a great conversation.

Chef Peter has surpassed my expectations once again! His menu choices are varied with something to please every palate, and he has retained the $45 three course meal option that offers a significant savings without compromising quality or quantity. I found servings to be on the generous side and left feeling satisfied in every respect. The food presentation and quality were excellent, very attractive and cooked to perfection. Chef Peter is diligent in his efforts to excel and my latest experience truly impressed me with his skills! And a very rare ingredient seldom found: the love he puts into every meal, and it shows. Definitely one of Kelowna's best restaurants and worth checking out!

Chris Petty went out of his way to create a very special dinner for my husband's 70th birthday. The martinis arrived moments after being seated, the Caesar salads were delicious and the piece de resistance the Chateaubriande carved table side with a vat of the best Bearnaise sauce I have ever tasted.
Thankyou Chris and staff for an incredible meal and dining experience.

Without a question the food is outstanding, perhaps the best in Kelowna. The service not so much. We arrived a few minutes early for our 7:00 pm reservation. We were seated immediately and our pleasant waitress took our cocktail orders right away. We enjoyed the atmosphere and each other’s company. 15 minutes later we placed our order, appetizers and main courses. Waitress assured us our drinks would be served in a matter of minutes. A half an hour after being seated we still had not received our cocktails (Martinis for all) I finally decided it was time to walk to the bar to see what was happening. There was no bartender behind the bar. he was chatting with someone in the bar. I went back to our seats and waited 10 more minutes but the drinks did not arrive and our waitress apologized and said she would comp our deserts (two of us had ordered the Table d’Hote menu that included desert). I had enough and walked to the front desk and asked for the manager. 45 minutes after arriving the manager arrived and offered to comp our drinks. I explained to her that it wears not about that, why did she not know there was a serious service problem. her response “He must have been called away for a few minutes” (45 minutes???). As we were speaking our appetizers, our cocktails and our bottle of wine arrived all at the same time. This is just not acceptable;e for a restaurant of this caliber. Our waitress told us we should have ordered wine instead of cocktails as she could control that! Our waitress tried to make the best of a difficult d situation for her and for us, however management needs to step up to the plate. Yes our meals were fantastic and I would love o return but when restaurants charge premium prices the overall experience needs to be top notch, not just what the kitchen produces.

Though this restaurant has an open concept, it is well lit and has a cozy feel.
I ordered the Classic Margherita Pizza as an appetizer and the Corkscrew Pasta as my main.
The Pizza was served fresh and hot. It had decent flavour, but the Crust was a bit too chewy for my liking. It was not a Neapolitan or a traditional thin Crust.
The Corkscrew Pasta had Chicken, Basil, Sage, Parsley Pesto, Sun Dried Tomatoes and Grana Padano Cheese. It came with a slice of Garlic Sourdough Bread. There were a lot of flavours going on that seemed to work well with each other. It was tasty and filling.
Service was friendly and efficient.

Had a wonderful evening from start to finish
Great cocktails the escargot appy is definitely worth a try
Lucky for us Rack of Lamb and Lobster was on the special sheet. Both prepared perfectly. The evening was un rushed and we shared a spectacular lemon chello cheese cake to finish
Price was also very good for the quality of the food and drinks. Highly recommend

We are local and have visited this restaurant on multiple occasions and been slightly disappointed. We heard they had new chef and management so we decided to give it a try. We were amazed at the incredible service of Carla (I believe hostess and Server) the first time we came without a reservation and she spent 10 minutes trying to find us a space for
our last date night before we had baby number 4. She was so kind and considerate to a couple of people who didn’t have a reservation on a packed evening. The next time she made sure that she found us a quiet and comfortable place to enjoy our evening with our new baby. Steven, our waiter, was incredible and very helpful as we worked through the menu. Then the food arrived I was so happy with my meal I returned the following evening only to be more impressed with the amazing food and service. Well done!!

Had the 3 course meal for $45 per person. Poached pear salad was light, the pears were amazing. I had the pork tenderloin and my partner had the herb roast chicken. Both were very good. Dessert, partner had the tiramisu, I asked for the creme brulee as a substitute and the Manager had said its won local awards, honestly the best creme brulee I've ever had. Shout out to Nicole who served us that evening. Also had a lovely chat with the Manager as we were there visiting and had some questions about Kelowna and restaurants we wanted to go to. This was one of our top picks on this trip and reasonably priced.

Mains were sablefish, lamb shank and shrimp. The sablefish was cooked perfect and was truly outstanding. Lamb shank was also very good. Unfortunately the shrimp were very overcooked and very tough. A real surprise given how perfectly the sablefish was cooked. Service was friendly and quite good. They have a decent compact wine list. Definitely worth trying again.

I gave this place three tries over the past little while. All I can say is “average”.
The service was ok. We started with sparkling water which came in a bottle that I am sure has never been washed. Later we moved onto their very limited wine list but found something adequate for $$$$
For dinner, we ordered the Caesar salad and I have to say it has a nice flavour but way too rich especially if they add too much dressing which happened the second time I ordered it. We also ordered pizza on one visit and it was really bland! The sauce is boring and there is nothing special for $20 . Lastly, my husband ate the mushroom risotto, which he said was ok, but there are definitely more mushrooms that risotto which made the balance way off. All this goes to show you that the food is just not that great for a restaurant that is trying to be top end.
I find that Basil and Mint are trying to be something that they are not.
Lastly, I will mention my biggest peeve this year - restaurants that post their hours but rush you out or refuse new customers an hour early and say “because Covid”. This is what I witnessed twice at Basil and Mint (as we are late eaters). They just wanted to go home early.
