We visited the Crow & Gate Pub with a couple of friends on St Patrick's Day to enjoy an early dinner based on previous experiences. Three of us had the lamb stew special and one had the pork schnitzel special The schnitzel was very good...More

We love a visit to the Crow & Gate, especially in the summer when you can eat in the garden. The low ceiling beams and atmosphere make it feel like you're in an old English Pub. Nice food choice but very popular and crowded. You...More

Almost always busy when I go and a bit out of the way, but it is so worth the time. A uniquely old, English pub experience outside of Nanaimo. I like to pair a visit to the Cedar Farmer's Market on Sundays with a nice...More

Like being transported back to in time to 1950's Europe, two roaring fires, good mostly healthy grub and lots to look at, you won't be dissapointed. There is no music and you have to serve yourself (they will bring your food once you order it...More

Crab cakes are one of my favorites. They are excellent to nibble them in front of a fire place in this English-style pub where one orders at the counter. Summer time allows a beautiful ambiance outdoors in the garden. Worth finding it, tucked away in...More

In this quaint pub, you put in your order at the counter. The food and service are excellent. The ambience is cozy!! It's about a 15 minute drive from Nanaimo with lots of parking. The lawns and gardens are very inviting. There is a pond...More

While the title of this review may sound cliche, this place really is off the beaten path and “hidden”. A cozy English cottage nestled into the countryside on a sprawling property. Even though we visited in the early afternoon, it was busy with locals for...More

I think part of the experience of visiting the Crow & Gate has to be the journey to get there. Not being very familiar with the area, I find that it seems to be a lengthy journey down some rural roads, past picturesque farms until...More

It is adult only and I do believe it is walker friendly.. The parking lot is level and the entrance to the pub is along an attractive pathway which is level.
