Returning after many years, to Ladysmith, I suggested lunch at the Crow and Gate. I had lunched there previously while on a tour with the Morgan Car Club and had filed it away as worthy of a return visit. Our group of five were all impressed. The ambience made my English son-in-law feel right at home, the food was excellent... More

Old English style pub with a snug for ordering. English food menu. Setting in the country with a small pond on the property. The pond is home to ducks and geese. You can sit indoors at tables and trestle seating or in good weather go out into the garden to enjoy your food and the blossoms.

This pub is cozy in the wintertime and has a beautiful garden to enjoy in the summer. The menu is typical British fare and never disappointing.

Very pleasant gardens as you approach pub with many birds at their feeders. Cosy atmosphere inside with fires in winter. Friendly helpful staff. Good place to meet friends. Wheelchair accessible.

Popped out to the Crow & Gate for a couple of beers and a bite to eat after a day hiking. Lovely atmosphere with open fire. Good tasty pub meals and Philips Pale Ale. Well worth the drive out from Nanaimo.

We have had 3 meals at the Crow since coming to Cedar on February 1. It is a charming place that is so like an old English pub inside, it is difficult to describe. The staff are cheerful and friendly and the food is terrific. Everything we have tried has been good - especially the beef dip!

This pub is probably the most authentic English pub on Vancouver Island. It has always been good and always consistent over probably over five decades.

What can I say, we just love this place. Food is great, service is excellent and the ambiance is totally fitting for an old English pub. Get there early or you will not get a good seat. Try to get the table near the fireplaces and don't forget to ask about the special message drops.

Cedar/Yellowpoint is a great place to drive around gazing at farmland, stopping at beaches and naturally having a good time at a pub. The garden is beautiful and especially lovely in June. Theres many beds, a large pond, and many unusual flowers to enjoy. Inside is quaint, lovely and well-maintained. You can sit inside or outside, but drinks are self-serve.... More
