I have been coming to Mgm for years, following the pattern of my parents...such good food, friendly service and great music and dancing. And allows great conversation with others. A fun place! The owner and staff are always courteous and helpful. Anyone coming here, will never be disappointed!

This is mostly your typical cafe. We have stopped in a few times for breakfast. The service is a bit slow but if you aren't in a hurry it's a great relaxing place to eat. The waitresses are friendly and food is good. My husband especially likes their pancakes.

I should start by saying that I'm probably the least picky diner you'll ever meet. Any meal that I don't have to cook or clean up after is generally fantastic in my book. I had never been to MGM despite living in Nanaimo my whole life and driving past it a bazillion times so one day a friend and I... More

I had a supper and a breakfast. The fried oyster dish was interesting, though the veggies tasted very old and were too few. Same problem with the breakfast, I had a western omelette and again there was an "old" flavour permeating the dish.

Good band, good singer, especially Black Magic Woman and Mustang Sally. The stars of the dance floor were a 5 year old boy and 4 year old girl - rockers! Some lively old folks up there too. Good dancers. Liver and onions was exceptional. Good fish and sweet potatoes too, with bread pudding for dessert.

We were looking for a place to eat on our way to a show at the Port Theatre in Nanaimo, and we decided to stop at the MGM Restaurant. Our waitress was friendly, the food was decent and the place was clean and tidy. A bonus was the live music and the dance floor - was were able to have... More

MGM does have a nice dance floor good for a night out, I would check before hand if you like entertainment as you can get caught in the senior warf with an according player or lounge lizard on piano. BUT some times you can catch an exciting band. or very good artist Everthing is run on a cheap budget things... More

Wish we had found this place at the beginning of our holiday instead of the last day. We stopped in for a late dinner, we had been travelling most of the day, and that late in the evening not very hungry. My husband had a club sub, it had real turkey, ham and roast beef. He said that was one... More
