Great location, good food at reasonable prices with friendly staff. The improvements continue with new decor and floor and wait for it.... A state of the art Pizza Oven is being installed.

A great Bar / Pub in a super location. Friendly staff and good service. Inexpensive menu and a good selection of beers. Currently fully redecorated with many improvements, especially the lovely Patio.. At Columbia Sky train Station along with it's beer and wine store. All...very handyMore
Ordered the veggie burger and fries. The fries cost extra and when we got our orders the amount of fries was so minimal for the cost of $5. If they are going to serve that small amount of fries I wouldn’t be as annoyed if...the price of the fries was included with the burger. Why not charge $15 for the burger and fries. Not $11 for burger and $5 for fries. We have had this same order before and received way more fries which made more sense. The burger also had minimal sauce which made it pretty dry and not have much flavour. We really enjoyed our order previously and were very disappointed this time.More
Was looking for a place to watch hockey on the big screen. Figured The Met, based on my previous visits, would suffice very well. I wasn't disappointed. Other than a few loud rowdies left over from the after work crowd (quickly squelched by the able...Shannon) was able to get a front seat with a great view of the game. Beer's a little expensive, but served cold, and with a smile. I'll be back next time I need a big screen. One drawback - they close at nine!?! Hopefully this is only on weeenights.More
Worst manager I have ever seen. I used to spend a hundred dollars per day and when I voiced my opinion about bad'service she suggested I find a different bar with better service. No idea how to run a business. Everyone hates her. She is...a moron.More
Arrived in the store at approximately 11.45 am on Saturday July 23rd. I wasn't even in the store more than two minutes when the store clerk, a bearded man approximately 45 years started rushing me to make my purchase. He was terribly rude, not friendly...at all. Maybe he thought I was a shoplifter or vagrant - not sure, maybe he is predjudice against older women. I never touched anything so don"t know why he would think I was a shoplifter and I was not dressed like a street person. I know lots of street people hang out in the area near the Met Bar and Liquor Store. I quickly went to the register to make my purchase. The store clerk was rushing me to get my card out of my wallet and make my purchase. I had only been in the store for less than five minutes by this time. He replied that most people are in a rush. I had only been in the store a few minutes so don't see how much of an inconvenience I could have been. I have spent hundreds of dollars over the years in their pub, and when my apartment was being painted I even rented a room at the Met Hotel. Next time I will go to the Liquor store and pub down the street. Don't shop here unless you like being treated like a vagrant.More
WE had a wonderful night and great food. The staff are so very friendly. We had a couple plates of nachos to pass around and then I had the house burger which was great. I have had there ribs some times which were awesome.
The hotel the Met Bar is attached to is very nice and very well run, and that attitude spill over to the bar, where the staff are excellent and treat visitors and the blue-collar regulars with respect and some affection. The food is cheap but...hardly gourmet, and it had a surprisingly good range of beers. The winos congregating in the doorway were a good introduction to the interior which is shabby, to say the least, although with a gem of a gardenMore
The quest for night life in New Westminster continues. This is a friendly comfortable place in the afternoon, but what is like at 10pm, you ask? Stopped by on a weekday after band rehearsal. Canned music, lots of big-screen TV's. A few couples, but mostly...what might be termed as regulars. Adjacent a Skytrain station, so easy to stop by on the way home. Clean washroom, even at the end of the day. Saving the best for last - beer special $3.50!More
Stopped by quite by chance. General Manager Denise - super. Good quality food. Good beer. Atmosphere was relaxed and inviting. Regular blue collar but very inclusive too. Gay folk welcome and supported by the bar. Will be the gathering place after Westminster Pride August 18th....Nice menu. We had beef sandwich/dip. Very tasty. We intend to go back during our stay. I would def. make this my local in New Westminster. The trip to Davie street is a bit long and complicated even by Sky Train/bus.More
We have been patrons of The Met and it continues to be a good reliable place to stop for a couple of drinks and food. They always have specials and the serving staff does a good job. Thge kitchen is very consistent and has a...fairly large menu. This is a spot that has never disappointedMore
One of the few working men's pubs in the plethora of yuppie places. This place actually has a bit of character - something missing from many of the "chain" type places that tend to mimic each other. Not very big, but "happy hour" prices, free...newspapers, clean washroom, and friendly staff.More
I stop in here regularly. The bar seating isnt big but i can usually find a seat. Lots of regulars. Low seating fills up quickly especially early evening. Construction Workers like to stop in here for a drink or a game of pool. Sports on...tv. The Met has been here for many years. So have some of its regulars. It has a small outdoor patio. Its real draw is that its right beside Columbia skytrain station and its a good price. There arent a lot of staff but they are good and quick. One downside is that they have squeezed in a couple too many tables so it can be cramped in the small seating area.More
Nice little pub, with good pub food. Quite dark and smelly right inside, but we were on the street veranda.
Tucked away in the Historical Met Hotel built in 1892 is an old fashioned basic pub. Regulars seem to be locals here. The pub needs some love but its clean and staff are warm and welcoming. Food was well prepared and tasty. Nice local beers...on tap. Great service.More
