The food and coffee here are to die for! The team is working around restrictions due to to Covid but the owner and staff are incredibly kind and doing their absolute best to maintain a high level of service and food quality. 100000% recommend this place to anyone in the Penticton area. The location is also breathtaking. I had a bit of a longer wait around lunch time and the owner gave me some delicious baked goods as a thank you which is a wonderful gesture. We’ll be back again and again!

Really efficient seating given Covid on a lovely shaded patio. But the real standout is the food. I’ve had the avocado toast 2 days in a row it’s so good. Like most people I’m capable of making toast and putting avocado on it. This dish is a standout. Comes with 2 perfectly cooked eggs, a delicious spread, and salsa and air dried tomato to die for. I may never order this in another restaurant again. The fruit salad is so fresh I ate it the next day and it was still delicious. So happy I discovered this place.

We heard great things about this spot so had to check it out. We waited a little while for a table which wasn’t a problem, the inside where we waited a while to order was very hard to socially distance as the washrooms are right by the line and staff also have to come through that area. Could maybe be set up a little differently until things clear up with covid. However, the food really really made up for this. The pork panini was insanely flavourful with great textures and crunchy pickles. So so good. The ham Benny was very good as well but I would recommended noting on the menu that there is more on it than just ham, a mystery red pepper type spread was on there which I enjoyed but I thought of my picky relatives who would not have appreciated the extra toppings without knowing. All In all a great spot and it’s clear why it’s been open for 15 years!

Had the vegan bowl, plus the smoked salmon and egg English muffin. Vegan bowl had 2 leaves of small greens and a half of tomato and avocado with half slice toast. Bowl almost 20 dollars, for a place in the heart of fruit and veggie country in bc very poor effort. Breakfast for two was over 60 dollars and would be shut down in Alberta for pitiful food. Don't stop if you are riding on the kvr, entitled attitude be place with huge wait and lousy cappuccino

Came to the bench for Remembrance Day brunch and due to covid procedures there was no seating, which was fine we got our order to go, and it was only a 5 min drive home and the eggs Benny was cold, the eggs did not seem fresh like they had been pre-cooked hours prior and the hollandaise sauce was cold as well, like it had just been taken out of the fridge, bread was not the slightest bit warm either. The girl serving us at the till didn’t really seem to know what was going on either, forgot our pastries and 3 other people’s as well. Quite disappointing, I always remember the bench having great food, seems to have gone down hill quite a bit. The last time my boyfriend ate there the eggs made him sick, thought we’d give it another try maybe the cook was just having an off day, but nope, sadly will not be back.

The food was delicious; but there was a rude waitress who did not hide her temper nor treat us fairly or with professionalism. She was having a bad day, and took it out on us despite our efforts to show her kindness and patience. The rest of the staff were good. It was just that one waitress who ruined the whole experience. I don’t think I will be coming back, nor will be suggesting this place to my friends in the future. I will take my business elsewhere. There are delicious places that serve good food with professional staff that do not discriminate.

Breakfast. The space? 5/5. Very nice little quirky place. Feels comfortable and a little bit of a cool vibe to keep you interested. Shelves of trendy jams and peanut butter. That kind of thing. Cappuccino? Also 5/5. Huge bowl even for a small. Tasty. No bitterness. Perfect really. Breakfast food? The only downfall. Eggs just fine. Toast good. But the bacon? Two small strips of flat mostly cold tasteless meat. It surprised me really because the rest of the experience prepared me for much better. And I wanted it to be better. Alas, it was not. And when you order bacon and eggs, and the bacon is this tasteless, well, that’s 50% of the bacon and eggs dish. So it does kinda matter. Overall I’d go back for sure to give it another try on the assumption that this was a one-off thing. And the whole experience was very nice in a Granville Island downtown Vancouver kinda way. But if the bacon was like that again - I’d skip it. Vibe or not, it’s a simple breakfast dish and it should be done right.

First time there - busy place. I like to order at the table not have to work my way through crowds and read a board that was difficult for me to read particularly when the food is so pricey and only average. Half the price at fast food restaurants for comparable breakfast!

Had a delicious breakfast sandwich before heading back home from vacation. Using local delicious ingredients it always a plus.
Went into the store to buy a few Charcuterie ingredients afterwards. Again, all BC local and absolutely delicious products that we had had previously at various wineries / creameries on our trip through the Okanagan.
Very pleasant outdoor patio. Quick service.

Very impressed how well run and organized the Bench Market is. The owner/ manager is usually right at the entrance guiding patrons in/out and what their Covid process is. Best for last - the food is fantastic !!!!! Went there for brunch every day we were in Penticton. Weekend Brunch Benny's were fabulous. Salmon was great. ! Thanks !

The best breakfast around. The owner/host is excellent, likes to socialize and staff are fantastic. Not to be missed but go before 9am or it's very busy. On weekdays, the breakfast is a bit limited - no eggs Benedict or poached eggs which are only on the weekend menu. the food is a bit pricy. For 2 people and 2 latte's, it was just over $65 plus tip, we're into $75. But it is local cuisine and very good.

Went for brunch on Saturday. It was super busy but they were very well organized and one of the servers did a fantastic job of greeting people and keeping them informed of any wait times and the process.
Coffee was excellent, as was the eggs benny! My hubby has the breakfast burrito and really enjoyed that too!
We’ll be back for sure!

Breakfasts were a real pleasure. We visited twice over our stay. Food was fresh and high quality ingredients. We also enjoyed their sandwiches on two of our wine tours, also excellent. Service was quick and friendly and the menu varied enough to enjoy more than once. Dine in and take out available. We would happily eat there again if we lived in or near Penticton!

Quite disappointing. We had been here before for breakfast and just loved the selection and the original food choices. Today there were only 2 choices, the good food, like the bennies,are only available on the weekends. Fruit was mostly apples and melons. The coffee was good. Beautiful setting.

I've stopped at the Bench market multiple times and it's always been a reliable restaurant. The takeout is just as good as eating in. The sandwiches are well crafted with multiple options available. The space inside is trendy and have many homegood/kitchen essentials. A great place to stop.
