The tune tataki was phenomenal. Only available at lunch but worth the trip. Great pasta and service. The chorizo penne and the carbonate are my personal favorites.

Decor is quite nice, and our waiter was excellent. We chose multiple appetizers to split, which we mediocre at best. No one finished their main; i chose the duck which was so tough i couldn't cut through it and the risotto was straight mush with...heavy cheese in it. Lobster ravioli was chewy with a very intense tomato based sauce. Cocktails were made poorly as well; most were too bitter. The staff was the best part of the experience.More
The service was excellent, all the staff were amazing and friendly!! The food was so delicious! I highly recommend this restaurant, one of the best in PG! So good we are going back tonight!!!
My wife and I loved our meal at North 54. The pasta is made from scratch in house and was one of the best pastas dishes I've had and my wife loved her food as well. The mural over the bar was stunning. Lots about...this restaurant to love!More
Initial impression was very good. Only tv was showing wrestling which was odd! Service was very slow, somewhat understandable, what with all the staff shortages, food was disappointing, ribs were very hard and chewy and no veggies; angel/shrimp pasta extremely garlicky which totally spoiled the...meal.More
The best restaurant which I have been to. It's so cozy atmosphere and delicious food. Amazing hand made red wine 🍇 and perfect dessert 🎂
We attended an event powered by Liquor Warehouse Prince George and hosted by North 54 last night. It was a wonderful evening. The food and wine were fantastic. Service was outstanding. Thank you to Carey-Lynn and Dean and their staff for the wonderful evening ❤️...My only regret is that I didn’t take photos!!More
Thank You So Much, see you next Wine Maker's Dinner.
Wanted to give a shout out to North 54 for being such great hosts. We always have good service and amazing food, however they outdid themselves last night at The Winemaker’s Dinner, a wine pairing event in partnership with the Liquor Warehouse. Highly recommend North...54 for your next evening out!More
Thank you so much for attending and for your support. From all the staff at North 54
It has been a while since I dined here. This night was very good. Service was fantastic. Four of us came here for a dinner on a Thursday night. I ordered the Wild Boar. I never had it before and was pleased with the dish....Very flavourful. Fresh broad noodles mix with lots of meat in a flavourful sauce. Really nice. A large portion in a large bowl. I would suggest you give it a try.More
North 54 has been operating since 2004. By today’s restaurant standards that’s practically a lifetime. To put this into perspective, practically all of PG’s historic mainstays have gone the way of the dodo. The Cariboo Restaurant? Gone after over 40 years; Mr. Jake’s Steakhouse? Lost...to the sands of time after 50 years, despite an alleged investment “to keep the business healthy for years to come.” It’s sad, but such is the nature of the fickle restaurant business in our modern times. In that regard, seeing North 54 survive – and thrive – in Prince George for the better part of 16+ years is inspiring . . . but not totally surprising. It’s not surprising because the culinary experience to be had, from start to finish, is nothing short of exceptional. The atmosphere is slightly upscale, but casual enough that you feel more than comfortable showing up in a t-shirt and jeans. The service is personable and efficient. And the food? Well, it’s a proverbial tour de force in contemporary cuisine with west coast flare and flavours. After dining here, it’s easy to see why one TripAdvisor reviewer called North 54 “an iconic restaurant” of PG: The menu is compact, but they do it astonishingly well. I first had the pleasure of dining at North 54 in September 2013. I came here with a number of colleagues for a business meeting. I remember ordering the pan-seared duck breast and being impressed with it – so much so that I encouraged my partner at the time to experience this gastronomic experience; unfortunately, that never came to pass. But that business meeting . . . oh boy! While the food was excellent, the actual “meeting” was a total disaster. One member in our party couldn’t control their alcohol and got completely wasted before the meeting even started. To top it off, the individual we were supposed to meet with cancelled at the 12th hour (after we’d all arrived), so the whole session was a non-starter. On the plus side, I got an excellent meal out of the deal! Fast-forward to the current day. We are now in the midst of the COVID pandemic, so the dining experience is inevitably a little different. My partner and I were partaking in a late summer road trip and spent a couple of nights in PG. One of our first stops for dinner was North 54. We arrived just before 7:30PM. The restaurant was, surprisingly, completely empty, but that’s okay because it made for a relaxing dining experience. The interior of North 54 is contemporary – modern – and warm. The various shades of grey on the walls and ceiling make for a cozy environment. It’s minimalist but not empty. For appetizers, we ordered the wild scallops. These are described as pan-seared and served with a creamy miso glaze. The plating was simple yet elegant, and I suspect the chef is fully aware of plating as a form of art because these scallops were indeed very Instagram-worthy on their serving vessel. In terms of taste, I will just say that these scallops were some of the best I’ve had in recent memory. They were seared to perfection, were flavourful and tender. The miso glaze complemented the subtle flavours of the scallop in the most attractive way. My only regret? That there weren’t more scallops to be had! For our main dishes, I had the Halibut Fillet while my partner had the Grilled Tuna. What I sampled of the tuna was really good, but I’ll focus more on my dish here: Again, plating was spot-on. I liked the contrast of the white halibut against the grenobloise sauce; meanwhile, the seasonal veggies provided for an additional “pop” of colour. The fillet was tender and packed with flavour. I’d almost say it was “melt-in-your-mouth” good. Halibut can be a very finicky fish to cook, but it’s clear the team at North 54 know what they’re doing. FOOD: 5/5 SERVICE: 4/5 VALUE: 5/5 RECOMMENDATION: While I won’t quite gush over this place to the extent of my friend, PrinceGastronome, I will nevertheless concede that North 54 is one of PG’s top restaurants. How is this place not at #2 in TripAdvisor’s rankings? It’s far superior to what’s there right now. Anyway, we had a most enjoyable experience and would gladly return when next in the city. Highly recommended! PS: If you found this review helpful in any way please consider hitting the "helpful" button!More
Restaurant ambience is lovely. Service was top notch, even though only one server covering 6 tables. Had cheese fondue to start, was delicious! Two of us had lobster ravioli, delicious! One of us had Veal scallopini which was cooked to perfection. The other person had...the wild Boar which was disappointing and seemed stringy and chewy, sauce was delicious. They do ask when you book online if it is an “occasion” for us it was a birthday celebration but that was not mentioned at all.More
Chef Dean prepared a fantastic 5 course tasting menu for our table of 8, and it was fantastic. We even ordered an extra pasta course which he was able to make work perfectly with everything else. The oyster soup, the lamb, the halibut and the...peanut butter desert were my favorites (LOL). We were asked how we wanted the timing to be between the courses which was a nice request because often food comes out too quickly and doesn't leave enough time for socializing with friends. Fantastic evening with great food and great service!More
We went there for a Valentines dinner expecting an exceptional meal. The special was $68. A little pricey for one person but we had a GC so my husband thought he would splurge. The lobster bisque was to die for, but that was the highlight...of the meal. His tenderloin was not only small but had a lot of gristle. The dessert was minuscule but tasty. Definitely not worth the price. I ordered the lobster ravioli expecting 4 or 5 large pieces nestled within a creamy rose sauce. What I received was a plate of wonton type balls with thick pasta in a basic tomato sauce with a hint of basil. Although the lobster within the wontons tasted all right, the pasta was chewy. The service was great, but the food is overpriced for what you receive. We probably will not return any time soonMore
I was shocked - we went early to have a relaxing staff lunch in what was a fairly high end restaurant for Christmas. At 11:38 the waitress said ‘can I grab your mains? We have a party of 24 and we are in a hurry’....Then the wrong appetizers arrived- the response was “I pushed the wrong button, are you good with that?” Meaning we should keep the wrong dish. 1 of three meals ordered was good, the others were pasta with almost no toppings for 18$+ each. Terrible , would absolutely never go back. Would have had a far better meal and service at Boston pizza.More
First of all, great atmosphere and lovely service. The appetizers were top notch, as were the martinis and wine. It was the entrees that tipped my opinion. My steak was burnt, overwhelmingly burnt, but when I politely noted the fact, I was met with a...condescending explanation on how the steak was charbroiled, not by the server mind you, but by the management. I think the general idea was you are suppose to expect a little "char" with your charbroiled steak. I was reluctantly offered a new one where the chef was instructed to "pay closer attention" the results was a steak that was miraculously free from "char" cooked on the same appliance. Bland steak, terrible risotto, one carrot and two stems of asparagus. I will allow my friend (who was equally disappointed) to share his own experiences. Server was very sweet and apologetic, which was nice but I won't be back. White Goose Bistro and Cimos have far superior food without the "high brow" pricing.More
