Great customer service and the coffee is excellent. The home baked treats are marvelous to the eye and the taste-buds. A nice place to relax and have a coffee and treat and perhaps read

I had a lovely time here. So serene. Extensive book shop with cards and gifts. Good food. Even a piano for guests to play. Serenaded by a great jazz pianist so feel fortunate. Highly recommend! I'll be back when I'm in Peej again.... : )

A unique cafe located inside a book store where you can sit and sip coffee and munch on a scone or eat lunch for as long as you want. An eclectic group of people frequent this local cafe and one can feel comfortable alone or...with a companion. Recently I had lunch there with a friend and while she enjoyed chicken pot pie I loved my eggplant and bacon panini .They serve lactose free milk for ones cappuccino. Cafe Voltaire offers a relaxing environment for students on their computers, knitters, book lovers, friends meeting for coffee and conversation, rich and poor. Staff is friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this gem in our city.More

Stopped by Cafe Voltaire for something hot to drink. Was very packed in there, which was no surprise, as it was mid-afternoon on a Saturday. The London Fog I tried was okay, not the best I've had, though. Took awhile for my drink to arrive,...and as there was no place to sit, I had it to go. Might be worth trying again, though, preferably at a less busy time. And there are books, lots and lots of books, which do make the trip worth it! ;)More

Atmosphere is really fun and mirrors something you would find in the Commercial Drive area in Vancouver. However, service is horrible, took almost 15 minutes from time of order to receive our coffee....thank goodness we had taken to go or we would not had had...time to sit and enjoy. Our daughter loved the book selection and the piano is a nice touch. So find out how to speed up your order system and you will have a winner.More

I'm trying to do low carb and every menu item had something on my list of no-no's. There was potato, corn, peas, bread, or wheat in every menu item. I was hopeful for the frittatas but there was potato in those too. Salads were pasta...or Quinoa so no choices there either. Hubby had the triple H panini which was ham, Havarti and hummus but sandwich was mostly bread, spinach and hummus, ham was so sparse you could see through it if you were lucky enough to find it. We weren't impressed for $21+ dollars. I asked for the ingredients of the soup and was disappointed when there was rice in that too. Won't go back to eat but the teas and coffees have been ok in my 2 experiences, don't waste your money on the substandard food.More

I hate to say it but I had one of the absolute worst paninis here the other day. The special was a spinach and pesto panini with tomato and edam cheese and it was truly awful. Dry bread, little cheese, bland pesto and slimy, soggy...spinach. I sat down to have some before having to run off to work, I ended up wrapping it up and throwing it in the trash later. Super disappointing for the $8 spent.More

The coffee is decent but, the food is not so good. The desserts are so hard you could break your teeth on them.

The location is neat and the book shop is pretty good. The cafe is inconsistent however. The build your own sandwich is always good. The coffee is so so at best. The drip is often stale and the barista drinks can be great or super...bitter.More
