Great Chinese food

Great Chinese food, and lovely and fast service by Virginia . We had Mission Hill Chardonnay bottle very affordable. All we ordered is in the attached pics and very delicious culinary but the chicken chow mein , which was not good looking and overcooked noodles , like Chinese noodles from packets. That is the reason we can not give 5 stars . Apart from that the place is cozy and busy due to delicious food .

Great food! Friendly staff! Good portions of food! I like the mango green bubble tea with black pearls

Great Chinese food. Friendly staff. Great portions of food as well. Affordable. The mango green bubble tea with black Pearl was delicious. The pork in the wonton soup and pork fried rice was very tasty. The restaurant can cater to large group of people because the restaurant is quite spacious. We will come back if we are craving for Asian food.

Little disappointing

Tried this place as we were looking for some good Chinese food sadly we were a little disappointed the one big one was the chow mien the noodles were sticky and more like ichiban noodles the beef and broccoli and prawns and ss pork was good. Service was fast and friendly

Have you ever had a salt and pepper prawn dish with the shells on?

We picked up the $56 order (2 dishes) and someone forgot to tell the cook that we don't normally swallow the shell of the prawn. It took quite a while to shell them and I didn't eat much of the batter. What a waste!! Expensive lesson learned.

Best Chinese in Rupert

The Stardust is home to the best China man food in Rupert. The menu is diverse, but most are just variants on existing menu items, so it's all good. We especially like the combo meals, hot pots and weekend dim sum. Also, the service is really friendly and, after a while, they even remember some of your usual order! Now that's customer service with a smile!

What a change. For the better

First time being there in awhile . Last time was not a good experience this was back in 2020 . We went to go see if anything has changed in the 3 year we have not been there and wow what a change in atmosphere and service. Servers where helpful and friendly . Food was great here are a few photos of what our family had that day in may 😋 .

Terrible !! tried to complain that the food we had did not taste good that it smelled spoiled and did'nt look good that it tasted SPOILED , nope nothing ! we were not looking for a discount , i wanted to let them know , they said they always have fresh meats , YEAH RIGHT ! I immediately got sick and vomited all night at home from food poisening there , we had the COMBINATION With pork omg it was disgusting , I wouldnt recommend eating there be careful if you do , look at the food received carefully , they didnt even apologize , parts of the pork was very dry and dark coloured abnormal I dont normally write reviews but I had to with this bad experience

Worst chow mein ever

When I went there were some large parties. I asked the server for a time estimate, not knowing if these people had already been served or were just ordering. She came back five minutes later when I flagged her down, had never checked. I wanted to ask her about two dishes because of my food restrictions. She walked away, never came back, and started taking orders from other tables. No doubt she hated her job, hated the boss or just hated customers. I went up to her to tell her I was writing a review on Trip Advisor. She turned away. Keep Away!

Best Chinese hotpot in Rupert

We go here for family lunch or dinner. The serving portions are ample and delicious. The Chinese food are consistent but the Hotpot menu is especially noteworthy. Try the Ginger Beef so tender and flavourful! Also try the Hot and Sour soup on a rainy gloomy day and it will warm you up. For a snack why not try the fabulous Weiner sandwich? Service staff are really accomodating and smiling while serving you. Location is good with enough parking spaces.

Great little place for Dim Sum

I visited today for some mid morning dim sum. The staff greeted me and I walked in. They were all very helpful. There was the dim sum and a normal menu to choose from, all reasonably priced. Was happy when the food arrived, hot and tasty. I enjoyed a few bottles of Chinese beer and very happy with the final bill. Well worth a visit.

Bubble Tea!!

We weren't sure what to expect when we walked in. Half the restaurant looked like a Chinese restaurant and the other half had booths like an American diner. Food was good, and bubble tea was the best part. They came in a huge mug that would make a German proud.

Dim Sum

In the two years since I wrote my last review of Stardust, I maintain that it is still home to the best Chinese food in Prince Rupert. I’ve been back countless times and have tried a good number of the dishes on offer. Sure, some are certainly better than others, but none have left me feeling like I’ve wasted money. Everything I’ve had has either been good to excellent and, when we’re talking about Westernized Chinese food, I think that’s the best we can hope for. In the end, leaving satisfied is what counts. But, after all this time, what merits a re-review? Simple: Dim Sum. But before I comment on that, let me offer a few words on other food items at Stardust. As I mentioned, I’ve now tried most of the menu items on offer here. While they’ve all been pretty good, what stands out for me is the recently discovered “hot pot” dishes. Without getting too wordy, I’ll simply say that the various “hot pots” have all been fantastic. The special duck hot pot hit all of the right notes: fresh veggies and ample duck, which was full of amazing flavour. As well, the seafood hot pot is also very much a 5-star dish in my opinion. Like the duck hot pot, it comes with a variety of fresh vegetables but, most significantly, it also comes with a generous serving of seafood, including prawns, scallops and fish. Unlike other places I’ve tried, I’ve not had to dig around to try and find the seafood. It literally jumps right out at your face. And it’s damn good. If visiting Stardust for dinner, I highly recommend any of the hot pots. They’ll definitely keep you coming back. Now, for me, what pushes Stardust over the edge from being a “very good” eatery to an “excellent” eatery is the dim sum. Dim Sum is a relatively new addition to the menu and just came online in January of this year. It is served on weekends from 11:30AM to 2:30PM and it’s been a hit. The few times I’ve gone, the place has been packed – and for good reason. The dim sum is excellent and is served at a very fair price. I’ve tried most of the usual suspects – Siu Mai, Shrimp Dumplings, Sticky Rice and Pork Buns – and they rival some of the dim sum I’ve had in Vancouver. If you’re new to dim sum, have the shrimp dumplings because they are the benchmark dim sum for any restaurant. I even got a little adventurous and tried a couple of things I’ve never had before: the jellyfish and chicken leg joints. The latter were very good and I treated them sort of like pork spareribs. And the jellyfish? It’s a cold dish and is presented almost like a sliced jellyfish and cucumber salad. I found the marinade to be quite lovely, but feel that the cucumbers could (and should) be sliced thinner so it can absorb the marinade more. As usual, the service at Stardust is good and very attentive – the servers go around checking tables constantly to make sure you’ve received everything you’ve ordered and remove empty dishes right away (something that is vitally important during the dim sum rush). FOOD: 5/5 SERVICE: 5/5 VALUE: 5/5 RECOMMENDATION: As far as Chinese restaurants go, Stardust is definitely one of the better ones I’ve been to. The service is always prompt and the food of very good quality. If you find yourself pining for Chinese food or dim sum in Prince Rupert, come here. They are easily the best in town.
