I went to Barb's for lunch on the first day of my vacation and the food was so good I went back four days in a row. Their sandwiches and salads are really tasty. The Bistro has less of a touristy feel than many other restaurants. You can actually see many year round Saltspringers eating there which is always a... More

Standard fare, cooked well. Service a bit hit and miss. The bread from the adjoining bakery is excellent (probably the best on island). Bathrooms are adequate but could do with more of them (there are often people waiting).

I was on Salt Spring for four days. I kept returning here for lunch each day because I could be sure of a good meal.

This coffee shop/restaurant is extremely popular with tourists and locals alike. It is decent but somewhat overrated. By 3pm they had run out of most of their baked goods unfortunately. Had some cookies and clam chowder which were good. Biggest selling feature in the summer is their large patio space for people watching.

Had an amazing brekky at Barb's Buns. Had the classic breakfast with organic eggs, meaty sausage, fantastic sauteed home fries and rye toast. They bake amazing "real" bread and other baked treats. Highly recommend for brekky, lunch or snack.

Barb's is probably one of my favourite lunch and breakfast spots on the island. With both a café and bistro side, there are interesting options for almost any budget or appetite size. I personally love their fish taco salad, or even just their artisan green salad with a side of salmon, halibut or free-range chicken. The presentation is beautiful and... More

This local favorite offers up delicious baked goods with swell breakfast, brunch and lunch choices. It's casual and busy; always a line for their in-demand bakery. The sign out front cheekily advertises itself as "Barb's Buns." Fun!!

Waited for fifteen minutes to get served. We were feeling like we were invisible. Another fifteen minutes for soup and salad to arrive. The food was very good and once we finished we waited, yet again, to get the bill. There were many servers and bus people, so I don't understand why the service was so slow. We finally got... More

A friend and I went for a day trip to Saltspring Island and decided to try Barb's for lunch. It was very busy but there seemed to be 3 or 4 waitstaff, 2 bus people and several people in the kitchen. My friend and I each ordered soup and salad. We waited over 15 minutes for the waiter to take... More
