i have been here a number if times and each time I think maybe it will be better. It wasn't . From the waitress forgetting my order more than once, to the wrong food brought out, to lukewarm coffee(i thought I was safe there... wrong)...When I pointed out that they forgot my order, the server suggested maybe I forgot to order(??) and even though the other 6 at the table acknowledged that I had, it was not her problem.More

Had lunch there yesterday with three friends. I applaud the distancing of tables, the continued good quality of the food, and staff friendliness. Still, I will not be "eating in" there again until COVID 19 pandemic is over, OR they start using NEW, NOT PREVIOUSLY...USED paper menus rather than the old plastic covered menus (as snaitzing them may not be consistent) AND servers wear masks. Individuals without symptoms can be infected and can transmit the virus to others, especially standing at close distance.More

Good family meals with terrific variety. Had Thanksgiving here for two years and was supremely well fed and thankful for their attentive service. Great atmosphere right on the golf course.

Have you ever thought to yourself, "damn, I wish this breakfast buffet wasn't $40 per person here in vancouver (or wherever you're from)" and that you'd really enjoy it more if you didn't feel like you were getting taken for all you were worth before...lunch time? Well Friend, This, is the place for you! Sunday starting at 10am they have an amazing breakfast buffet, and it is awesome -for only $14 each! Perfect way to start your sunday whatever your plans are. 10/10 would recommend.More

A place one would go for very good value in a "homey" style in cooking and diner like services in a "Montreal Smoked meat with on premises baked pie" kind of way. Wash it down with a good and well priced pint. Oh... and you...can hear yourself think!More

Stopped at noon at the Golf Course because you can usually count on a great lunch in a pleasant setting at any golf course - not here! The exterior should have been a warning. (The photo of the exterior on Trip Advisor is not this...restaurant, it's there old location). The building is old and run down, in need of repairs and a power washing. Inside is no better. The room is dark and more like a bad coffee shop than a dining room or restaurant. The furnishings are a jumble of tables and chairs that look like they were bought at auction when a bar went out of businesses. The photos of the Christmas banquet on Trip Advisor are not representative of the day to day atmosphere We self-selected a table and my companion went to the washroom while I waited for a server to notice me. Before anyone came to the table, my companion returned, grabbed her coat and said "we're out of here". The washroom experience was sufficient to reinforce the initial warning given by the exterior and the dated, worn out interior. We were not about to subject ourselves to the "cuisine". They say that "you eat first with your eyes". Well our eyes said " if they cant maintain the place, clean the washroom or upgrade the '50's interior, then what would the lunch be like?" We gave it a 1 because you can't give it a "0"More

My wife puts up with a lot for Tripadvior. When we leave our home base (Brentwood Bay, just north of Victoria) we always try somewhere we haven't been, so I can review it. We went back to Saltspring for the first time in a couple...of years, and she insisted on eating at the golf course. "You really ought to review it again." Hah. She just liked the food. It's still good. Last time I said the food was great, the ambiance so so, and the service excellent. This time the food was great, the ambiance the same, and the service not as good. But last time was a Wednesday with eight diners total, and this time it was Saturday with 26 diners total. And fish and chips was the special, so that's what we had. Excellent. Halibut in a beer batter, good slaw, GREAT chips. We both staggered out. $32 before the tip.More

The food is very, very good. Well worth the visit. But get your food "to go" because this is not a dining experience or even a reasonable lunch/diner experience. The furnishings and surroundings are worn, soiled and aged The experience is negatively impacted by the..."casual" approach by waitstaff, and clientele that seem fine showing up in dirty work clothes or just shabby appearance. If they cleaned up the place, bought some furniture from this century, train staff in hospitality service, and request clients to remove their ball caps when inside it would be a nice diner style, clubhouse restaurantMore
