Located in a blue corrugated steel shack along False Creek this place regularly serves up a variety of fried fish including cod, salmon and halibut made to order. I had a delicious 2-piece cod with fries. Each serving is accompanied by a big portion of crispy chips with skin on, mini container of tarter sauce and a tangy coleslaw. I came at noon on a Saturday just as it opened and already 12 of us were in line waiting. During COVID-19 you cannot eat on their picnic tables but can do so at the park nearby, seawall or Granville Island.

This busy take out restaurant is our go to for fish and chips when we are in Vancouver and while it can be busy, the wait is well worth it. Halibut and chips with house made coleslaw hit the spot. All fresh and delicious and worth the price.

This place is a small shack off to the side of the commercial fisheries docks near Granville island. There was a long line up with Covid procedures. We ordered the 2 piece Cod Fish & chips and 2 Salmon Tacone. The tacone Is basically a soft shell tortilla folded in to a cone. Maybe we should go with the Halibut instead of the cod next time. Funny thing is that we had the halibut fish and chips from white spot recently and that was better. The prices are reasonable I think. We got the food and took it to a near by park to eat. We were underwhelmed with the food. The fish was not as good as thought it could be and the tacone just didn’t do it either. The texture was soft and lacked any crunch and the juices just ran down. The food was ok but not great.

Good fish and chips but horrible service. Expect a 30-45m wait. We noticed that people served after us were receiving their orders so we simply asked politely about ours. Staff proceeded to mock us within earshot. "Oh, lad de da miss princess is waiting for her food". Stupid little punks.

The fish was juicy and firm, the batter crispy not greasy or soggy, the fries fresh and crispy, the tatar sauce tangy and creamy, and the coleslaw was crisp and tangy. It was all so good. It’s just a 2 minute walk from the entrance of Granville Island, it worth the extra steps to have the fish and chips here than at Granville Island.

Today (March 11th 2021, 1.15pm) I went on a lunch date with my husband and ordered 2 salmon sandwiches. Because we were not allowed to eat at the harbor, we went to our cars and eat it there and then telephone each other to say how bad was the sandwich. We’ve been regular customers for the last 5+ years and never had such a bad experience. The salmon was a tiny piece (half the bun), the salad wilted, I only had a slice of pickle in my sandwich. Please bring back the deliciousness, because today was a disaster.

We arrived at Go Fish about 30 minutes before closing intending to buy a couple of meals of fish and chips. I went to the service counter and asked about ordering as they were open until 7 pm. The fellow behind the counter asked where I had heard that closing time. I said on their voice mail message, and on the sign outside their place. The response was something like ... "Hey cowboy if you want to get food you have to order by 6 pm at the latest". The gist of the story was that they were sold out. That message could have been relayed politely and with respect. And if the restaurant is routinely sold out of food one hour before closing, then either increase the inventory or have an earlier closing time.

You know I have never written a review in my life but the fish we just received was so tiny I had to! I specifically asked the guy when I ordered how big the pieces are and he showed me with his hands and said they were a good size. If they were small I was going to order two pieces because I was sharing with my 6 year old. When I received the order I said are you kidding me, this is tiny, and said I’ll have that piece, he was dishing up for another customer, while telling me they weigh each piece he was also hiding that piece he was preparing for another client, obviously knowing it was bigger, you couldn’t hide it. Yes their fish and chips are good, the best in Vancouver and I come from the UK where fish and chips are hard to beat and from a family whom owned fish and chips shops so I know good ones. But come on! the size of the portions are a joke, sorry but had to share.

Lined up 15 minutes prior to opening time on a Saturday. Weather was gorgeous so waiting around was not terrible. However, the 1.5 hour wait to actually get our meal was a bit much. Once the meal was ready, it was, indeed extremely tasty! The fish was beyond fresh. We (hubby and wife duo) split a 2 piece cod fish and chip order. Fish pieces were of good size and very tasty (worthy of 5 stars). Hubby was not as fond of the chips as I was, but we did both give them a thumbs up for sure. If at Granville Island and in the mood for no frills old school fish and chips, this is a very good bet!

Visited last night. Staff were loudly joking about “jerking off into the fish” while customers were waiting for food. They repeated it about 4 times. When I picked up my order, I casually, politely let them know that their conversation was audible and not appetizing. Staff responded with “well you’re entitled to your opinion”

My family moved to the area 3 years ago and although we love sushi we hadn’t found anywhere we really liked. We ordered several rolls to go. The girl who took my order was so friendly and helpful and even helped me to use the happy hour deal that I didn’t know about. Picking up the food was easy. But the best park was the rolls! They were so amazing and fresh! Our favorites were the lemon twist, drunken shrimp and shooting star. We’ve found our new shusi place!

We learned of this place from a local, and are so glad we did! The fish was extremely fresh, and fried perfectly. We also had the french fries and the soup (a green curry soup), which were equally as good. We were fortunate enough to have a warm sunny day, so sitting outside overlooking the marina with the warm sun and outstanding food was a real treat! The only negative was that their credit card machine was broken (so, cash-only) and they wouldn't provide any discount for US currency. We thought the place looked so good that we paid 25% too much for the meal. I assume this was a temporary occurrence, but I recommend you have some CDN $$ with you to avoid a similar expense.

Was disappointed, At Granville island go-fish stand i found the batter on the cod was thicker than usual and it was 80% cooked, too busy to complain so i decided to just do a review, also i think these people are very cheap in their set-up for customers, very limited seating ,no cover for rain , too few seats, been there many times and the batter was great before but this time it was terrible. Maybe they think the tourist are out and skimp on everything because they will not be back. The staff are the rudest in Vancouver BC, there are many fish and chip places in Vancouver,

Not impressed. No halibut, unfortunately. Had the cod and chips and literally couldn't cut through one piece. It was like rubber so took it back to the indifferent staff who claimed they "never have fish like rubber". Told them to try and cut it after which they admitted "yes it was like rubber". They gave us another plate which was better but still had some hard parts. The chips were great tasting but super greasy. I expect fish and chips to be greasy but it was a bit much. Maybe they are just tired after a busy summer but staff and the product they're putting out aren't worth stopping in.

It was busy when we showed up here around 3. We waited in line until queue was getting shorter, and it was worth visiting Go Fish. There were families, couples and others waiting for their orders to be ready. Even though we waited around 20 minutes, our food came out fresh. Customers can't eat around this area so you must go elsewhere to find tables/chairs. We had to walk further to find a spot instead. We ordered 2 pcs Halibut and Chips it was a great decision! Fries were SO crispy and Halibut fillet were soft. Never had fries this GOOD (I swear) ! Fish fillet were so meaty, YUM! Coleslaw tasted rather vinegary it was not bad. I expected the usual creamy coleslaw when their coleslaw was more vinegary. Anyways, their beer battered Fish and Chips were excellent. Go Fish deserves two thumbs up!
