Well this dog did not live up to all the reviews. The dog was nothing special I like the toppings as they are something different. This is good and I would have again and look forward to trying something different next time.

Last October, I had the pleasure of eating at Japadog, after shopping in Robson Street. It is a very small but cozy place, and staff are nice and smiley! Loved the idea, it's so original, and delicious!! It was really yummy and cheap!

Grab a couple of hot dogs from the food cart. Both were very tasty. A good blend of sweet (bun) sour (pickles) and savoury (sausages - tried both the pork and the salmon). Worth giving it a go for something different.

I have been dying to try this for years . I finally did and join the people who do not get it. I had a #1 ( most popular!) with a veggie dog. I eat veggie dogs all the time so I'm ok with it. But basically it was a hot dog with fried onions lots of mayo covered with... More

This food truck was recommended for a quick lunch. Had the Beef Terimayo. It was pretty good. I could probably only eat one, the seaweed flavor in conjunction with the hotdog was interesting. Overall a good experience.

We tried to find lots of different food vans and read about japadog. The hot dogs were nice and had their unusual twist which we haven't come across before.

Japadog is a food cart serving many gourmet hotdog versions with Japanese and eastern condiments mixed with traditional toppings. They display some large cardboards with all the famous people that visited them and I realize why: it was scrumptious! I took the opportunity to taste the Kurobuta mayo teriyaki hotdog and it was really good. The sausage was tasty and... More

If you have never tried one before you definitely should. The combination is very original and tasty. The original Japadog started in Vancouver and now there are several in different locations in Vancouver and in Santa Monica, CA.

We got the most popular dog with seaweed and Japanese mayo. Delicious! And perfect for a cheap, on-the-go or in-between meal.

Staying in West End

Neighbourhood Profile
West End
A hodgepodge of landscapes, the West End combines verdant gardens and blocky modern architecture, with Victorian bits and Edwardian bobs in between. It is a paradise for takeout food, take-away coffee, and perhaps incongruously, some of Vancouver's most languid lines of beachfront. English Bay and Sunset Beach invite swimmers, strollers, and picnic-lovers to take in dusk settling over the water, or to jog along with the sunrise, offering breathtaking views at any time of day. The West End merges together so many looks and flavors probably because it functions a hub: its the leafy pit-stop between nightlife and entertainment venues along Davie Street, and the shopping paradise that is Robson Street, offering visitors beautiful parkland to rest on, and quick, easy food to re-fuel with in between ventures.
